Then she said, "I love you. Call me tomorrow." She smiled at me as she closed the door.
When I got home, I took a bath and lay on the bed, smiling. My phone rang, and it was Quinn. I had only called her once since I left. I picked it up.
"Hello," I said.
"You've forgotten me," Quinn replied.
"No, don't say that. How could I forget you?" I responded.
"This is how you treat your only love? Anyway, I have good news for you," she said.
"Good news? What's that?" I asked.
"I'm pregnant!" she exclaimed.
"Just tell me you're joking. Why would you be pregnant?" I replied.
"I'm not joking. My mom found out yesterday, and we went and did a test, and it was confirmed," she said.
Hearing that made my heart start beating faster.
"What are you planning to do?" I asked.
"Planning to do how? Are you not happy that I'm pregnant with your child? This is a direct ticket to be together again," she said.
"Happy? How do you expect me to be happy? You better go and—"
