Chapter 53 - Chapter 53: Kaido: How Is He Even Tougher Than Me?

The brawl between Good and the strongest creature, Kaido, ended with Good covered in blood, his body riddled with wounds.

Looking at Good lying battered in the rubble, Kaido couldn't help but burst into arrogant laughter.

But soon, that laughter abruptly stopped.

From within the ruins, Good stood up again—his injuries had all healed. If not for the blood still staining him, no one would believe he had been so heavily wounded just moments ago.

Kaido's expression darkened, his heart filled with frustration.

Wounds like those shouldn't be able to heal… what kind of monster was this man?

At this point, Kaido felt that Good looked even more like the strongest creature than he himself did. Even Kaido couldn't recover that quickly from such devastating injuries.

This guy…

Across from him, Good stood tall, brimming with excitement: "That was great! Kaido, you're really strong!"

"This is the kind of fight I like—intense, exhilarating!"

On the other side, Kaido wanted to curse.

To him, Good's words were pure humiliation. He was supposed to be the strongest creature, the peak of physical power…

"Come on, keep going!" Good ignored Kaido's frustration, charging forward once more.

Kaido clenched his teeth. He refused to believe he couldn't kill Good.

The two clashed again.

At first, Kaido still had the upper hand. Good kept taking damage, but his shocking recovery made Kaido's blows meaningless.

And slowly, Kaido noticed something was wrong.

Good's strength was clearly increasing. His Haki, his physical techniques, even his body itself—all were growing stronger.

On occasion, Kaido himself was injured by Good. Though he could recover quickly, Kaido realized that if this went on, he might not be able to win. He might even lose to Good in pure physical combat.

Was this man a battle genius? Growing stronger mid-fight…

For the first time in a long while, Kaido didn't know what to do. Good was like an unkillable cockroach.

But Kaido knew one thing: he had to kill him. If Good continued to grow, he would become a massive threat to the Beasts Pirates.

Half an hour later, at the port, several Beast Pirates ships arrived.

King and Queen spotted the battle raging in the ruins between Kaido and Good.

Meanwhile, Gion's expression hardened as she saw the Beast Pirates' main force arrive.

She told the Vice Admirals, "Prepare to fight!"

Good and Kaido's battle had reached its peak. If the Beasts joined in, the tide could turn instantly.

The memory of Good nearly dying when he fought the Whitebeard Pirates alone was still fresh in Gion's mind.

No matter what, they couldn't let reinforcements reach the battlefield.

But before Gion and the Vice Admirals could move to block them, the Tobiroppo arrived, leading about a hundred Headliners, surrounding the Marines.

Who's-Who grinned. "I suggest you all stay put, unless you want to lose your lives."

Meanwhile, King and Queen moved toward Kaido to assist in dealing with the Fourth Admiral.

Within the encirclement, Gion panicked as she watched.

Good was stubborn to a fault. Having agreed not to use his Devil Fruits, relying only on his body and techniques—how could he possibly fight against three top-level Zoan users?

Surrounded by the Tobiroppo, Gion resolutely drew her blade.

The Vice Admirals tried to stop her, telling her it was reckless. They weren't a match for the Tobiroppo and the hundreds of Headliners.

The gap in numbers and strength was too great.

But Gion ignored them. "If you won't go, I will!"

"Fight first, think later!"

She didn't know why, but her heart was filled with worry for Admiral Good.

Even though her own situation was dire, she still wanted to break through and fight by his side.

Earlier, she had respected Good's choice to duel Kaido one-on-one.

But now, she had to help him—she had to stand with her superior.

Still, the Tobiroppo and their army of Headliners weren't easy opponents. No matter how strong Gion was, she couldn't break through.

She bit down hard, rage boiling over as she shouted toward Kaido and Good's fight: "Kaido, aren't you ashamed!?"

"Fighting so despicably!?"

"Admiral Good is fighting you openly and fairly—where's your warrior's pride!?"

Kaido's face burned with shame at her words, but he no longer cared.

Today, he had to kill Good. From the moment the fight began, Kaido had grown wary of him.

If this man lived, Kaido's title as the strongest creature would never sit easy on his heart.

"King! Queen! Kill this Admiral with me!"

King and Queen were surprised.

Their boss, Kaido, was actually asking them to help finish an enemy.

Kaido was proud, arrogant, reveling in cruelty, preferring to crush his foes under his own power.

But now, for Kaido to ask for help—it proved how serious Good's threat was.

King and Queen took their places at Kaido's side, ready to attack.

Kaido looked at Good with a dark expression.

"Reckless Maniac Admiral! In my life, there are few I've truly acknowledged as strong—Whitebeard, Roger, Oden… just a handful. Now, you've earned a place among them. I, Kaido, admit you're a worthy opponent!"

"But today, you will die here!"

Across from him, Good's wounds were already healed. Hearing Kaido's words, he laughed heartily.

"Kaido! As for body and technique, I too acknowledge you as a powerful opponent!"

"But I don't believe I'll die here. You're coming with me to Marine Headquarters instead!"

By now, Good's replication of the Uo Uo no Mi, Blue Dragon Form, had reached over 80%—nearly complete.

Even against Kaido with his two Calamities at his side, Good still charged forward recklessly.

Blue Dragon form—here I come!!!
