Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 – Reckless Maniac Takes Flight with a War Criminal and a Vice Admiral!?

On the other end of the Den Den Mushi, Sengoku listened to the conversation between Momousagi and Good. Though he couldn't see what was happening, the tone of their voices made it abundantly clear—

Momousagi was completely exasperated.

Sengoku silently sighed in his heart:

"You really have it tough, Momousagi…"

Without wasting more time, he gave her the coordinates for the support mission.

Soon after, prompted by Good's relentless urging, Momousagi ended the call.

Sengoku placed the Den Den Mushi aside, crossed his arms, and fell into deep thought.

"Possessing both the Magma-Magma Fruit and the Float-Float Fruit…"

"Dual Devil Fruit abilities… and near-invincible regeneration…"

His brows furrowed deeper. His sharp eyes flickered, as if recalling something from the past.

After a long pause, Sengoku muttered:

"Good has far too many secrets… Once he returns, I'll have to question him properly."

"…Though knowing him, he probably doesn't even know the truth himself."

Recalling Good's brain-dead persona, Sengoku found that theory highly plausible.

"If I still can't get a real answer from him, I'll just have him give a blood sample and send it to Vegapunk for analysis."

Vegapunk had researched Kaido's indestructible physique and even used his genes to create artificial Devil Fruits.

If Good truly had a unique body constitution and Vegapunk could figure it out, it might dramatically boost the Marines' overall strength.

These days, the Marines were struggling to keep pace with the combined threat of the Seven Warlords, the Four Emperors of the New World, and countless pirate crews.

Like it or not, the Marines were stretched thin—especially with the Warlords being far from loyal.

Sengoku rubbed his temples again, sinking deeper into thought.

Meanwhile, on Good's side—

Now that they had the coordinates, Good was practically bouncing with excitement.

"Momousagi! Let's go already!"

Of course, Good, who had sacrificed his intelligence, had no idea how to read coordinates. If it were left to him alone, he'd probably fly off in the wrong direction for days.

So Momousagi had to guide him.

But this created a new problem: What about Shiki?

If both Good and Momousagi left, then only the four Vice Admirals—severely injured and barely standing—would be left to escort him.

Should Shiki regain consciousness, even with Seastone cuffs, the risk would be enormous.

After all, even Luffy in the original story could still fight while wearing Seastone.

Entrusting Shiki to four wounded Vice Admirals was asking for trouble.

Momousagi raised the concern immediately.

But Good didn't even stop to think. He charged straight into the lower deck and dragged Shiki out like a sack of rice.

Momousagi was completely thrown off.

"What are you doing, Admiral Good?!"

Good didn't bother to answer. He simply grinned and said:

"Let's go! Take me to the fight already!"

Then he grabbed her arm, tossed her onto his back like a bag of supplies, and flew into the sky using the Fuwa Fuwa no Mi (Float-Float Fruit).

Momousagi instinctively tried to resist, but to her shock, she realized she couldn't even struggle. The strength difference was just too massive.

So, just like that, Admiral Good flew off—Momousagi on his back, and Shiki dangling in one hand like luggage.

They soared into the sky, racing toward the coordinates Sengoku had provided.

Behind them, the Marines were left speechless.

"Wait… the Admiral and Vice Admiral Momousagi just left??"

Everyone stood around looking confused and completely at a loss.

Without a commanding officer, they were a leaderless group with no idea what to do next.

All eyes turned to the four injured Vice Admirals.

One of them sighed heavily and said:

"Well… I guess if Admiral Good's taking Shiki himself, then our part in this mission is over. Let's just return to our respective branches."

Above the sea—

As they flew, Good asked, "Momousagi, are we going the right way? If we're off course, you better tell me."

His sense of direction was so bad now that he'd easily lose to even Zoro in a navigation contest.

On his back, Momousagi was buffeted by the rushing sea wind, feeling a mixture of helplessness and resignation.

"…Got it," she replied.

This whole development was so sudden she still hadn't fully processed it.

She thought for a moment, then asked something that had been bothering her:

"Since you have the Float-Float Fruit, couldn't you just make the entire warship float and bring everyone with us?"

Good answered plainly, "I haven't mastered it enough yet. The ship's too big. I don't have full control over the ability."

Then his eyes lit up, and he grinned:

"Unless… I beat Shiki up some more. Maybe that'll help me master it faster."

Still semi-conscious from the wind, Shiki heard this and immediately played dead again.

This guy is insane!

Momousagi was just as speechless.

Shiki was already in this state, and he still wanted to hit him?

What if he killed the guy? How would they explain that to the Fleet Admiral!?

"Forget it!" she quickly said. "We can travel like this just fine."

Meanwhile, in the second half of the New World…

At a deserted island on the border between the Red-Hair Pirates and Whitebeard Pirates' territories, battle raged violently.

Marines and the forces of two Emperors clashed in a chaotic free-for-all.

Akainu faced off against Whitebeard, the man hailed as the strongest in the world.

Kizaru fought against Shanks, the Red-Haired Emperor.

With only part of the Marine forces deployed, it was clear—they were at a disadvantage.

Even in these top-tier battles, Akainu and Kizaru weren't holding up well against the Emperors.

Akainu took a direct hit from Whitebeard's Gura Gura no Mi (Tremor-Tremor Fruit) and was smashed into the ground, forming a massive crater.

The pirate side erupted in cheers, mocking the Marine Admiral without mercy.

Akainu struggled back to his feet, wiping the blood from his mouth with a snarl.

But there was nothing he could do.

Whitebeard's next swing—charged with tremor power—landed again, twisting Akainu's entire frame and launching blood everywhere.

"Damn it…"

Akainu wiped the blood from his lips and forced himself upright once more.

Nearby, Kizaru was knocked flying by a single blow from Shanks, then turned into golden light and reappeared beside Akainu.

Pouting slightly, he muttered:

"Akainu, both Emperors brought their full crews… We're outmatched. Maybe it's time we retreat."
