On the edge of the battlefield, Jolteon was chasing after a Persian. The two Pokémon leaped back and forth across open ground, through pipes, and over shipping containers, moving so fast they were practically blurs.
Although the Persian was very agile, it was still much slower than Jolteon.
When faced with a Sucker Punch or a nimble, surprise turn, Jolteon could easily dodge with Agility. Even when Persian got close and used a move like Fury Swipes, Jolteon could counter with Thunder Fang and Double Kick.
Moreover, Jolteon had no fear of close-quarters combat. Simply releasing its body's electricity was enough to make Persian hesitant to get too close.
They skirmished on the outskirts of the main battle. Although a winner couldn't be decided yet, the scales of victory were tilting further and further in Jolteon's favor.
In the center of the battlefield, the most breathtaking fight was undoubtedly between Crystal Steelix and Tyranitar.
After defeating Natsui's Tyranitar, Archer's Tyranitar was immediately engaged by Crystal Steelix.
Although Tyranitar stood two meters tall like a humanoid suit of armor, it was facing a Crystal Steelix that was nearly ten meters long, with an enormous head and a body as hard as steel. While its fighting spirit was equal, it was clearly at a disadvantage in terms of size.
Great size often brings great power. With just a slight movement from Crystal Steelix, Tyranitar had to use all its strength to resist.
The clash between these two power-focused Pokémon sent tremors through the ground. No other Pokémon dared to approach within a dozen meters, fearing they would be caught in the crossfire.
But as expected of a pseudo-legendary Pokémon, when Tyranitar went berserk, it managed to fight Crystal Steelix to a standstill for the time being, despite the size difference.
Elsewhere, a Golbat flew through the air while a Kabutops, an ancient fossil Pokémon, swung its scythe-like arms on the ground.
Fighting them was Natsui's Gardevoir.
Under its psychic power, both opponents were at a complete disadvantage.
Restrained by telekinesis, Golbat couldn't fly freely and was trapped, struggling in mid-air. The moment Kabutops approached, Gardevoir would use Teleport to appear in a different spot and strike it with a powerful Psychic blast, knocking it to the ground.
Repeating this pattern, Gardevoir easily controlled both Pokémon.
If it weren't for the need to split its focus to deal with both of them at once, the fight would have been over long ago.
In the southern part of the battlefield, Scizor was fighting a Lickitung and a Vileplume alone. Due to type matchups, Vileplume was completely dominated by Scizor. Its attacks were useless, and it was tormented by Scizor's Bug-type moves, unable to fight back at all.
As for Lickitung, a Normal-type Pokémon, its Normal-type attacks were not very effective against Scizor's Steel typing.
In this two-on-one fight, Scizor only seemed to grow stronger. The battle reached a peak when Scizor's large pincer clamped down on Lickitung's massive tongue, causing it immense pain.
Turning to the northern area, Dragonite was fighting a Houndoom and a Sneasel.
Houndoom and Sneasel were both Dark-type Pokémon, one being Dark/Fire and the other Dark/Ice.
Houndoom was manageable; its Fire-type moves didn't do much to Dragonite. However, Sneasel's Ice-type moves had a four-times super-effective advantage against Dragonite.
Fortunately, despite the type disadvantage, Dragonite was extremely agile, flying about on its small wings, making it impossible for Sneasel to land a hit.
And because Dragonite had a versatile moveset, its mastery of various attacks often led to unexpected results.
Of course, this was just the situation before Suicune and Raikou entered the fray. When those two Legendary Pokémon joined the battle, the situation changed completely.
The first to fall were Muk and Arbok.
Their original opponent had been Crystal Steelix, which they were helpless against. Now, with Raikou joining the battle, their opponent was switched to the Legendary Pokémon, and their situation became even worse.
Raikou didn't even glance at them. It leaped past them and unleashed a single Discharge, electrocuting both Pokémon until they were charred.
Before they could even fall, a thick Hydro Pump shot across the battlefield. Houndoom couldn't dodge in time and was slammed to the ground. Luckily, Houndoom was strong enough that the powerful blast didn't knock it out in one hit.
In an instant, they had lost three Pokémon, making Archer and Ariana's eyes twitch.
Before Raikou and Suicune appeared, they had some confidence in this battle. But after seeing the two Legendary Pokémon, that hope vanished completely.
The two executives looked at each other and saw the intention to retreat in each other's eyes.
There was no point in fighting anymore. It was time to leave.
At their signal, their Pokémon began to gather around them and move towards the edge of the clearing.
Natsui noticed their plan immediately. He had the entire field under his control; if he let them escape now, all his effort would have been for nothing.
"Pokémon, surround them!"
At his command, his Pokémon spread out, blocking Archer and Ariana's escape routes. Realizing that this man intended to keep them here, the two Rocket members quickened their pace.
But the tables had turned. Outnumbered and outmatched, escaping was easier said than done.
Natsui's Pokémon formed a great net, closing in on Archer and Ariana. He kept only Gengar by his side for protection. As the circle tightened, the area the two Rocket members could move in shrank to a small patch.
From the streets outside, the faint sound of sirens could be heard, making them realize their time was running out.
But escape was now almost impossible.
Staring at Natsui's face, and seeing that he had almost no Pokémon directly beside him, Ariana made a desperate move. She shouted at Tyranitar, "Use Hyper Beam!"
Although Tyranitar was not her Pokémon, it still obeyed her command.
It opened its massive mouth, and a terrifying energy gathered within it. Then, it fired a straight beam directly at Natsui.
If they could take down Natsui, his Pokémon would surely fall into disarray, and their crisis would be over.
