Gouy-gui, the Sacred Baobab

A tree planted in the center of the new Senegal, in the capital, Dakar. This baobab is said to have been planted over three centuries ago, after the king's defeat, to prevent his resurgence in the world through the great djinns.

Within Gouy-gui itself, the roots of evil grow like excrescences that continue to rot the wood and, eventually, may destroy the entire tree. The day this happens, the djinns will spread across the world, and the long-suppressed chaos will reign.

Mame Coumba Lambaye

Related to the Boechins, she is even compared to Atemit Sembe. Known as "the mother of the sembou," she remains alive centuries later in a diminished form, her energy sustaining Gouy-gui, the world tree.

Unfortunately, little can be drawn from the matriarch, as her entire being is exhausted by the task of protecting the entire country for nearly three centuries. However, nothing concerning the sembou escapes her, and her knowledge, dating back to the rise of Atemit Sembe, is invaluable.

Now that Jeanne has found her, things might finally move forward for the chosen ones…

Oath of the Ndaananes

One of the six lion oaths.

An oath of the strongest diambars, binding their souls like a chain. Through this oath, the diambars swear to use their strength only in extreme emergencies and are restricted outside danger zones to avoid causing cataclysms in the country.

The ndaananes were the name of diambars who, it is said, were so powerful they could rival a Boechin in combat. To reassure the population, they swore this oath to use their strength only to defend the world and on the orders of the Boechins. They fought the djinn army of the king and protected Senegal with all their might while the Boechins attacked the king.

Today, this oath binds the 10 Paddaans to one another to better control these forces of nature.

Nyafouna's Technique: The Forgotten Pariah

A set of close-combat techniques using the sembou of light, primarily for reinforcement-type diambars, though manipulators can adapt some of these techniques to a certain extent. These techniques are renowned for their great complexity, capable of causing the user's death if a single parameter is mismanaged.

There is no doubt that Nyafouna was a great warrior, given the techniques he left behind. However, when Casamance united into a kingdom and the old kings were dethroned, this diambar refused to bow to Atemit's descendants and their political decisions, which introduced a caste system that, in his view, tarnished Diola pride. He deserted and taught his techniques beyond Casamance, making him a traitor and a pariah. His first name was erased from Casamance's history, leaving only his name, Nyafouna, which became synonymous with the lowest caste in the kingdom: slave.

Oath of the Old Order

One of the six lion oaths, binding diambars to their military corps and their duty. An oath of sembou through which the ndimbelanes swear to serve the country.

The Oath of the Old Order is the only oath created post-barrier, after the king's defeat and the awakening of the djinns in the world. Its function remains the same as any respected lion oath, with the nation and all present and future generations as the contractors of this pact. The only difference is that the ndimbelanes can only act if a potential disturbance to the country's order and tranquility occurs, and in this clause, it is none other than the current government that determines what may or may not disrupt Senegal's peace. In other words, the ndimbelanes are a wieldable weapon of the government, acting only in accordance with its will.

Oath of the Path of the Heavens

One of the six lion oaths.

An oath of diambars who, in the past, swore to fight evil in the name of Atemit Sembe. Today, it is the oath of the thionganes preparing to dive into the horrors of the djinn world.

This oath unites the proudest and bravest warriors, those who have sworn their hearts, souls, and minds to fight humanity's enemies. A vow that now serves as a reason in an eternal battle…

Danger Zones

Dimensional anomalies restricted by Gouy-gui. It is said that each danger zone represents a portion of the king's power, governed by one of the great djinns under his authority.

The deeper one ventures into these zones, the more one enters a reality different from that of Senegal, and the greater the danger becomes. However, for nearly three centuries, a kind of barrier has prevented diambars from crossing the boundary between the two worlds.

-------

The Téén, the Essence of the Diambars

The téén is the very source of a chosen one's power, its metaphysical origin, as it connects them to the astral plane. It is a semi-dimension in its own right that each chosen one possesses, containing all the knowledge of runes and capable of storing acquired knowledge. It thus blends the chosen one's spirit with their own personality, the only place where these two worlds can interact.

Oath of the Blessed

The oath of the loucars, one of the six lion oaths, uniting them in the pursuit of knowledge and their medical duty.

Named after the Blessed, a saint of old who received the favors of the sembou in the darkest moments of the new era. It is said she could heal any wound or affliction, and her healing spells were so powerful they were considered miracles.

Today, Senegal's loucars swear by her name to use their powers and knowledge to heal and treat the many afflictions, whether born of the sembou or not.

Top, Senegal's Secret Agents

Secret agents of the SSS (Senegalese Secret Society).

It is only known that the most important diambars can be recruited by them. Their numbers are undetermined. They do not focus specifically on strength but on certain abilities and intelligence. Their number, role, and much of their work remain a mystery. Their most evident function is their role in jurisdiction and military police.
