"Is this the perfect idea you had in mind?" Damien asked.
His eyebrows furrowed as I adjusted the cute frog hat on his head and stepped back to admire my work.
"You look so cute," I said.
A couple passed by us, holding hands as they checked out a flyer of the new ride built in the center of the park. The girl chatted excitedly as her boyfriend took a big bite of her churros.
Damien's brows deepened. "I'm not cute."
I turned to the middle-aged woman selling the hats. "Doesn't he look cute?"
She nodded. "And handsome."
She wiggled her brows at me. "You did well, girl."
My smile widened. "Tell me about it."
I picked a rabbit hat and tried it on. "What do you think?"
I posed, flicking the rabbit ears.
"Beautiful," she said.
I turned to Damien. "What about you? Do you think I'm pretty?"
I saw the smile tug at his lips before he looked away.
"He's a little shy," I said to the woman.
She smiled. "You guys make such a beautiful couple."
