"What the hell?"
A gust of wind slapped my face, forcing me to shield it with my hand. A deafening roar of blades made me look up and I saw Damien standing beside a helicopter.
He strode towards me with a smile, arm over his face.
"What's going on?!" I yelled.
He held out his hand and grabbed mine without a word and led me to the helicopter. He held my waist, supporting me as he lifted me into the helicopter.
He climbed in beside me, quickly grabbing a pair of headphones and placing them over my ears.
"What's this?" I asked.
He adjusted my headphones and smiled. "A surprise."
It was my first time in a helicopter and with my fear of heights, I knew it wouldn't go well.
"We're lifting off," the pilot announced.
I grabbed my stomach and shut my eyes tight, imagining I was on the ground. What was so great about being in the air?
If we were meant to fly, we would be born with wings!
Damien's hand closed over mine and I pried an eye open. "Are you okay?"
