Chapter 4 - Survival of the Fittest and Cyclops

According to the plot, Black King, reminded by White Queen, realized that Professor X and Charles were expanding their forces to deal with him, and would launch a surprise attack tonight.

However, there should still be some time.

"What about you? What's your name?"

Mystique Raven saw that everyone else had introduced themselves, and Ron was sitting alone at the counter, so she asked out of curiosity.

Inside the room, Alex, Hank, and the others all turned their gazes.

"Ron."

He glanced at the few people and replied casually.

Seeing that Ron seemed a bit out of place, the others ignored him and began excitedly introducing their abilities to each other.

Raven chatted and laughed with everyone, occasionally glancing at Ron.

It wasn't because Ron was handsome, but just as she would later get together with Magneto, whom she hadn't known for long, she vaguely felt that Ron was similar to her.

"Lonely, unable to communicate deeply with anyone, lacking love in life, out of place with the World, like a monster and ghost with nowhere to go, blending into society."

"Hmm?"

Ron noticed her gaze and looked over, and Raven immediately averted her eyes.

In the room, a few people began to say their desired codenames and demonstrate their abilities.

First was Darwin.

"Actually, Darwin is just a nickname: survival of the fittest."

The tall, lean, and muscular black man chuckled softly, walked to the transparent fish tank in the room, and put his head into the Water, demonstrating his ability. Almost instantly, three rows of gills, capable of breathing freely underwater, grew from his cheeks.

He turned his head in the fish tank, showing off slightly to let everyone see more clearly.

"Oh, that's amazing!"

The others were surprised, cheering and applauding as if at a party.

After Darwin lifted his head from the fish tank, he shook the Water from his head, his gills disappeared, and he sat back in his seat.

"Good ability, but unfortunately too weak."

Putting down his wine glass, Ron watched expressionlessly, commenting inwardly.

"Considering other aspects, it's barely acceptable."

With enough ability points, he could easily acquire these people's abilities.

But not all abilities were worth his ability points, just like buying things, money should be spent wisely.

Darwin's ability, where his body can self-protect and evolve based on the environment, easily reminds people of the powerful biological weapon in the DC Universe—Doomsday.

But the two are Worlds apart.

Darwin's ability, once the dangerous environment disappears, the evolved ability will immediately degenerate and cannot accumulate evolution, and each evolution is not particularly strong. In the plot, when Black King shoved the energy from Alex's attack into his mouth, he couldn't bear it and exploded.

However, looking at his performance during evolution, such as growing ugly gills, the subsequent degeneration after evolution became an advantage; otherwise, he would soon become a monster.

"This ability can help people cope with many sudden situations, such as vacuum, toxins, etc., so it's still acceptable."

It was listed as one of the acquirable abilities.

In the room, a man's sharp cry suddenly rang out.

It was the turn of others to demonstrate their abilities. Banshee, who could emit powerful sound waves from his mouth, shattered the thick glass of the floor-to-ceiling window in the room.

Angel, a former stripper who named herself Angel, showed the insect-like wings on her back, flew up, and spat acid, corroding the top of a bronze statue outside the window.

Buzz!

Finally, it was Alex's turn. He twisted his body, emitting a dark red, high-energy arc blade, which cut through the bronze statue outside the room like a hot knife through butter. The immense power caused a series of exclamations from the crowd.

"Good ability, just not applied well."

Ron's eyes moved slightly. After Darwin, there was finally another acceptable ability.

Impact Alex can absorb cosmic energy such as radiation, electromagnetism, or heat from the environment, convert it into a high-energy plasma form through his body, and unleash it, causing terrifying destructive power.

The indestructible lightsabers in Star Wars are actually plasma-form energy constrained into shape by a magnetic field.

His ability can be emitted from any part of his body, but Alex's current development is very crude; he can only twist his body and use ridiculous auxiliary movements, like spinning a hula hoop, to emit energy arc blades.

"If developed well, he could completely release plasma Cyclops rays from his eyes."

He narrowed his eyes.

That was exactly the signature skill of his biological father, Homelander—Cyclops.

"Ron, everyone has shown their abilities. What's your ability?"

After everyone else had finished demonstrating their abilities, Raven prompted him again.

Looking at the empty wine glass in his hand, Ron, expressionless, extended a sharp fingernail from his index finger and lightly drew a circle on the wine glass.

Sizzle, like a sharp diamond cutter, it made a slight sound as it cut through the glass.

With a gentle lift, the circle at the rim of the glass separated cleanly from the body of the glass.

"Oh, this ability is so cool, just like a tiger and a leopard!"

The few people gathered closer, their expressions surprised, especially the boys whose eyes lit up, applauding vigorously.

"Look at his claws, I have no doubt they could easily tear a person's throat."

"Hank, I think he's more suited for the nickname Beast than you, after all, you only have a pair of big feet."

The impulsive Alex bumped Hank next to him with his shoulder, teasing.

In terms of power, Alex actually performed stronger, but in terms of coolness, in the eyes of these young people, Ron was cooler, like an elegant hunter, flicking his five fingers to extend his nails, reaping lives!

"Yeah."

Hank's face showed unnaturalness as he responded.

He only had a pair of deformed big feet like a Beast, and the ability they brought was merely running a bit faster than ordinary people.

"Such an ability shouldn't exist…"

He looked at Mystique, whom he deeply admired, with a hint of sadness.

He had to quickly develop the serum that could restore him to a normal human appearance!

Ron's abilities were not limited to that; his strongest aspect was his self-healing ability.

But he wouldn't scratch himself to demonstrate his ability like these immature youths, as if performing a show, just to win gasps of surprise and cheers.

After seeing Ron's ability, everyone in the room started playing loud music, truly having a party in the CIA secret Base, dancing, and using their abilities, making a mess everywhere and creating a lot of noise.

Ten minutes later, a woman in a trench coat, along with Eric and Charles, walked in briskly from outside the window, their eyes wide as they looked at the chaotic scene, asking loudly in disbelief.

"What the hell is going on? What are you doing?"

"What happened to the room glass?

And who broke the bronze statue in the yard!"

Hearing the series of questions, these immature youths finally turned off the noisy music and stood at a loss, seemingly finally realizing what they had done, pointing fingers.

"Banshee, and Alex, Alex made the bronze statue."

Sitting by the counter, Ron watched everything with cold eyes.

Moira, a senior Agent of the CIA, it was she who infiltrated the Hellfire Club, discovered Black King's conspiracy, found Professor X, and Professor X, by reviewing her memories, became involved in this matter, leading to all of this.

She was also Professor X's lover when he was young.

Raven and the others caused trouble at a very inconvenient time; the three had just returned from the conference room. What could a group of untrained young mutants do when facing the CIA leadership's questions?

The three argued strenuously, and Charles gravely said that they were not ordinary young people and would bring surprises.

However, as soon as they turned the corner out of the conference room, they saw this scene; their faces were slapped too quickly.

"They really are quite extraordinary."

Eric glanced at Charles, shook his head, and coldly walked away. Moira's face was flushed with anger, and they left together.

"Except for Ron, you all have disappointed me greatly!"

Charles looked at Ron, who had been sitting quietly by the bar without causing trouble, then expressed his anger and disappointment to Mystique and the others, turning and following without looking back.

Leaving Mystique and the others at a loss.

On the road leading to the nearby airport, the three walked quickly.

"At least Ron didn't mess around with them. Not everyone we recruited is just a party youth who only knows how to cause destruction at home."

Charles's expression was grim.

"He's as mature as if he were our peer."

Eric recalled Ron's various behaviors and said.

"Should we take him with us?"

Moira raised an eyebrow and suggested. The meeting was held because the CIA had obtained intelligence on White Queen's whereabouts, in the Soviet Union. They needed to infiltrate enemy territory, capture the target, and obtain intelligence.

The plane secretly heading to the Soviet Union was about to take off.

They had originally planned to take Mystique and others to carry out this mission, but now it seemed unsuitable.

"Forget it, no matter how mature he is, he's still just a child.

It was my mistake to involve a group of children in this."

Charles shook his head, saying with distress.

He had been too hasty initially. Matters concerning the safety of the World needed more mature people to handle; entrusting them to children was too dangerous and unfair to these children.

"Let's go."

...

Specialized personnel had cleaned up everything, replaced the glass, and removed the cut bronze statue.

Mystique and the others, after being reprimanded, sat quietly on the sofa. Charles's extremely disappointed look when he left stung them.

No longer drinking, Ron waited quietly.

"By now, Charles and the others should have gone to capture White Queen.

Black King will also be bringing his people soon."

Tonight, both sides coincidentally acted against each other simultaneously, their main forces missing each other, resulting in both gaining something.

Bang!

Suddenly, outside the floor-to-ceiling glass, which was blocked by electric curtains, there was a faint and strange noise.

The few people looked at each other in confusion,

"What was that sound?"

Just after they caused trouble, a few government officials from the agency walked by outside, mocking them and treating them like circus freaks, so they couldn't stand it and closed the curtains.

Opening the curtains, the few people curiously walked to the glass and looked out into the vast night. Suddenly, a person fell from the sky, crashed in front of them, died, and became a corpse.

"Ah!"

The few people recoiled in fear, screaming in terror.

Ron, however, slowly stood up.

"They're here…"
