"Why bother looking?"
Ron sneered, directly admitting it, then retreated into the crowd and grabbed Mystique's wrist.
Hmm?
Raven looked puzzled, but before she could ask anything.
Bang!
Taking Mystique with him, Ron activated his Mind Teleportation, leaving the CIA Base and arriving in a dark alley.
The surrounding scenery changed abruptly; only the dim yellow light at the far end of the alley was visible, the rest was shrouded in darkness. Raven instinctively panicked, like a startled kitten, pressing close to Ron's body.
"Ah! Ron, where is this?"
"A safe place."
Ron looked down at her and said.
"That man is much more troublesome than the two guys I just killed."
Red Devil's ability was Mind Teleportation, not instantaneous movement. The speed of the teleportation was not actually fast, and there was a 'bang bang' sound to alert others. Red Devil and Riptide had not expected him to possess this ability, which was why they died so easily.
This trick would not work on Black King.
Besides absorbing and releasing energy at will, Black King Sebastian Shaw could also greatly enhance his strength, speed, and endurance, allowing him to stay awake indefinitely, recover from minor injuries, and achieve immortality.
His reaction speed far surpassed that of ordinary people, and his defense was so strong that even missiles could not harm him.
"To prevent you from getting hurt if a fight breaks out later, I'll send you here first."
The enraged Black King might do anything in the next second, perhaps stomping his foot and releasing an energy burst that would tear the entire room apart.
"Thank you, Ron."
Raven, who had been on the verge of tears from fright, looked at him with a surge of emotion, feeling a subtle oddness in her heart.
With so many people in the room, Ron chose to send her here first. Could there be... another reason?
At that moment, she wasn't the closest to him, and there was another girl closer who could have been protected first.
"I'm going back."
Ron said, preparing to activate his ability to return.
Mystique was a treasure; the Sentinel, which would exterminate Mutants in the future, was developed based on her genes.
Anyone in that room could die, but Mystique could not.
"Ron, you must come back quickly."
Hearing Ron was leaving, Mystique looked at the dark, empty surroundings, still shaken. Like a poor, helpless little girl, she grabbed his arm, her voice trembling.
Having just experienced a bloody and brutal attack, she couldn't help but feel afraid staying in such a place alone.
"How troublesome. A bloodbath might already be happening on the other side, and I'm still wasting time here."
Feeling a bit impatient, Ron turned his head back, his voice softening.
"I will."
He wasn't a superhero; what did the lives of those people over there have to do with him?
"If it weren't to go back and record Black King's abilities, and then try to kill Black King tonight, I wouldn't bother going back."
"Stay here and wait for me."
He quietly instructed her again, then teleported back to the room in the Base.
In the room.
He had expected a battle to have already begun with Black King, but it hadn't.
"...Your companions have abandoned you and fled.
I am about to usher in a new era on Earth, an era where Mutants live like kings."
In the room, Black King, as expected of a qualified leader, had no one left among his subordinates, so he would just recruit more. With a cold, deep voice, he pressured Alex and the others to make a choice.
"Will you embrace the new era, or die clinging to the old, decaying one? Choose for yourselves."
He looked at them, his gaze filled with pressure.
Bang~
When Ron returned, he witnessed the scene of the majestic leader recruiting online.
His appearance interrupted Black King's speech.
"How did you do that?!
Do you just happen to possess the same ability as Red Devil?"
Upon seeing Ron, who he thought had fled, reappear, Black King's eyes narrowed, and he pressed him with a deep, rapid question.
After seeing Ron use Red Devil's ability to take people away, he no longer thought about Red Devil being killed. Compared to that, he was more interested in figuring out Ron's situation.
If he didn't just happen to have the same ability—it was hard to imagine such a unique Mutant existed in the Universe.
"That was quite a moving speech.
Continue, don't mind me."
Ignoring his question, Ron raised an eyebrow, put his hand on Hank's shoulder, and was about to activate his ability to leave.
"You still think you can escape from me a second time!"
Black King frowned, raised his palm, and a ball of Fire carrying immense energy shot out with a bang.
"Your new era doesn't sound good at all."
Realizing that Ron might be taking them away one by one.
Darwin stepped forward, blocking the fireball with his body, which had grown layers of black stone armor.
Flames splattered, and he was knocked flying.
"Your speech just now reminded me of a certain mustachioed man."
Twisting his body, Alex forcefully gathered power and shot an energy arc blade at Black King.
"Good energy. I'll give it back to you."
Easily parrying the energy arc blade with his palm and absorbing it in an instant, Black King praised the plasma-like energy Alex emitted, then spread his palm again.
Buzz!
Alex was knocked flying by a fist-thick energy ray.
"Stay here."
Taking Hank away, Ron teleported in front of a bar, threw out a sentence, and turned to leave.
Hank was a talented individual. Compared to his abilities, his mind was the most important. As one of the smartest people in the X-Men Universe, he had developed things like the Cerebro and the Blackbird Fighter, providing technical and equipment support for the X-Men.
"Black King wants to create a new era. Coincidentally, so do I."
His new era needed such talents.
As for how to make Hank serve him, controlling Mystique would allow him to control Hank, as Hank had always been devoted to Mystique.
"Enough! My patience is limited. Surrender or Death!"
During Ron's brief absence, Black King effortlessly defeated Banshee and Angel, his murderous voice echoing through the room.
He was like a silent volcano, ready to erupt at any moment, filling everyone with fear.
Bang, a familiar sound, Ron appeared in the room again.
"Quick, Ron, quick, take me away!"
Angel, who had been planning to surrender, saw Ron appear and changed her mind, clinging to him like a drowning person to a straw, urging him frantically.
The two weakest people had been sent away one after another. Now, it should be her turn, the only remaining woman.
"Leave?"
I've only recently acquired that new ability and cannot use it for extended periods.
That was the last time for a short while."
Ron glanced at the dark-skinned Mexican woman urging him, his cold voice shattering her illusion.
In fact, the template system not only allowed him to possess others' abilities but also developed them to the level of the original ability owner.
He could have taken everyone away in one go, but he still had things to do.
"What?"
Alex, Darwin, and the third person, who were knocked to the ground, turned pale.
They had not understood why Ron started taking people away as soon as he saw Black King, and what happened to the Ron who had so cleanly dealt with the two enemies.
After clashing with Black King, they realized this man was a monster. He had easily defeated them without even trying. Leaving was indeed the correct choice.
But now, even if they wanted to leave, they couldn't.
