Chapter 45 - The Mystery of Moon Knight

A few days after the assassin incident, life had started becoming normal again.

Or at least it seemed that way.

One morning, all three of their watches vibrated.

MARK IS CALLING

Ayaan, Anshuman, and Sara immediately headed to headquarters.

When they entered the briefing room, Mark was already waiting.

His expression was unusually serious.

Without saying a word, he activated the large screen behind him.

Several videos appeared.

The first showed a group of armed criminals being stopped by a white-cloaked figure.

The second showed a warehouse completely destroyed.

Witnesses claimed another white-cloaked warrior had been responsible.

The third showed a mysterious person saving civilians from a collapsing bridge.

Mark paused the footage.

The room became silent.

Because the three figures looked exactly like them.

One looked like Ayaan.

One looked like Anshuman.

One looked like Sara.

Even their suits looked identical to the forms they had used against the assassins.

Anshuman leaned forward.

"No way."

Sara stared at the screen.

"That's impossible."

Ayaan remained silent.

The figure moved exactly like him.

The same posture.

The same movements.

The same fighting style.

Mark folded his arms.

"From the reports, these three have been appearing throughout the city."

"Sometimes they save people."

"Sometimes they destroy property."

"And every time they disappear before anyone can identify them."

The footage ended.

Nobody in the room spoke.

Because they all had the same question.

What exactly had they become?

That night none of them slept peacefully.

Ayaan found himself standing in darkness.

Not a room.

Not a city.

An endless black void.

Then footsteps echoed.

Slow.

Heavy.

A figure emerged from the darkness.

Completely black.

Its face couldn't be seen.

Only glowing white eyes.

The figure stopped.

And pointed directly at him.

A voice echoed throughout the void.

"You will be destroyed."

The darkness shook.

Suddenly another object appeared.

An old notebook.

Its pages turned by themselves.

Until one page stopped.

Written in faded ink were four words.

Three Knights. One Soul.

Before Ayaan could understand their meaning—

Everything vanished.

He woke up immediately.

Sweat covered his forehead.

At the exact same moment, his watch began ringing.

It was Anshuman.

"Bro."

"What?"

"I had a weird dream."

Ayaan froze.

"What did you see?"

Several minutes later the three met.

Their expressions changed immediately.

Because all three had seen the same black figure.

And all three had seen the same notebook.

Even the words were identical.

Three Knights. One Soul.

Sara sat down slowly.

"This isn't normal."

"No."

Ayaan agreed.

"This means we're connected somehow."

The next few days became an obsession.

They searched old records.

Ancient legends.

Agency archives.

Historical documents.

Anything connected to the white suits.

Anything connected to the Moon Knights.

Most searches led nowhere.

But eventually they discovered something strange.

Several hundred years ago, there were records of three warriors appearing during disasters.

The descriptions were nearly identical to their suits.

White armor.

White cloaks.

Moon symbols.

Yet the records ended abruptly.

Almost as if someone had erased the rest of the story.

Then Sara found something even stranger.

An old drawing.

The drawing showed three knights standing side by side beneath a giant moon.

Below them were the same words.

Three Knights. One Soul.

But this time there was more writing underneath.

Most of it was damaged.

Only one sentence remained readable.

"When the Shadow awakens, the soul shall become whole."

The room became silent.

Nobody knew what the Shadow was.

Nobody knew what "one soul" meant.

But one thing was certain.

The white suits.

The dreams.

The mysterious warriors appearing across the city.

The black figure.

They were all connected.

And somewhere in the darkness...

Something was waiting for them to uncover the truth.

The night was calm.

Ayaan, Anshuman, and Sara were sitting in their apartment, still discussing the strange dreams, the notebook, and the mysterious words:

Three Knights. One Soul.

Nothing was making sense.

Suddenly—

Their watches began vibrating.

MARK CALLING

Ayaan immediately answered.

"What's wrong?"

Mark didn't waste any time.

"A black Moon Knight has been spotted."

The three instantly stood up.

"What?"

Sara asked.

Mark activated a live feed on their watches.

The footage showed a dark figure standing on top of a skyscraper.

Black armor.

Black cape.

Glowing white eyes.

He looked exactly like the Moon Knight forms they had used.

Except everything was dark.

Anshuman stared at the screen.

"That's definitely not us."

Mark nodded.

"The reports started twenty minutes ago."

"Witnesses say he appeared out of nowhere."

"What did he do?" Ayaan asked.

Mark looked at another report.

"That's the strange part."

"He hasn't attacked anyone."

"He hasn't spoken to anyone."

"He's just standing there."

The three exchanged confused looks.

"Standing there?"

"Yes."

Mark zoomed in on the footage.

The black figure was simply staring across the city.

Motionless.

Almost as if he was waiting.

Then the camera suddenly glitched.

Static covered the screen.

For a split second the figure disappeared.

Then reappeared closer to the camera.

Everyone in the room froze.

Because nobody had seen him move.

The cameraman immediately backed away.

The black Moon Knight slowly turned his head.

And looked directly into the camera.

Then the feed cut off.

Silence filled the apartment.

Anshuman swallowed.

"Yeah..."

"That's creepy."

Mark's voice came through again.

"I want you three to investigate."

"Be careful."

"I have a feeling this isn't an ordinary enemy."

The call ended.

Ayaan grabbed his jacket.

"Sara."

"Anshuman."

Both looked at him.

Ayaan's expression had become serious.

"If this thing is connected to our powers..."

"We need answers."

A few minutes later, the three were already moving across the city toward the last known location of the Black Moon Knight.

Unaware that someone was already watching them from the shadows.

The three were moving across the rooftops when they suddenly stopped.

A figure stood ahead of them.

Motionless.

Waiting.

The black cape flowed in the wind.

The glowing eyes stared directly at them.

The Dark Moon Knight.

Sara immediately took a step back.

"He's real..."

The figure slowly raised his head.

"I am your god."

His voice echoed unnaturally across the rooftops.

"Serve me."

Anshuman frowned.

"Why would we serve you?"

For a moment, silence filled the air.

Then—

The Dark Moon Knight vanished.

Ayaan's eyes widened.

"Anshuman!"

Too late.

The Dark Moon Knight appeared beside him.

BOOM!

He grabbed Anshuman and slammed him into the rooftop.

The concrete cracked beneath the impact.

Before Ayaan could react, the Dark Moon Knight was already standing again as if he had never moved.

Anshuman groaned and pushed himself up.

"What kind of speed is that?"

The figure looked down at him.

"You question your creator?"

The moon emerged from behind the clouds.

The symbol on the Dark Moon Knight's chest began glowing.

"My name is Konshu."

"The God of Moon Knights."

A cold pressure spread across the rooftop.

Sara felt her knees weaken.

Ayaan clenched his fists.

"We don't belong to you."

Konshu slowly turned toward him.

"No?"

He raised a hand.

Suddenly all three felt a sharp pain in their heads.

Visions flashed before their eyes.

Ancient temples.

White-armored warriors.

A giant moon hanging over a battlefield.

Then the visions vanished.

The three dropped to one knee.

Breathing heavily.

Konshu stared at them.

"You feel it."

"The connection."

Ayaan forced himself back to his feet.

"If you're our god..."

"Then why are you attacking us?"

For the first time, Konshu became silent.

The wind howled around the rooftop.

Then he spoke.

"Because you are incomplete."

"Three Knights."

"One Soul."

The words sent chills through all three of them.

Konshu pointed at Ayaan.

Then Anshuman.

Then Sara.

"You are fragments."

"And fragments cannot survive what is coming."

Sara narrowed her eyes.

"What is coming?"

Konshu's glowing eyes looked toward the moon.

For the first time...

There was concern in his voice.

"The First Knight."

The rooftop fell silent.

Ayaan felt his heartbeat quicken.

"The First Knight?"

Konshu looked back at them.

"The one before all Moon Knights."

"The one who shattered."

"The one whose soul became the three of you."

A distant explosion suddenly echoed through the city.

Konshu's head snapped toward the horizon.

For the first time, he looked surprised.

Then another explosion followed.

And another.

Far away, a massive column of black light rose into the sky.

Konshu's expression darkened.

"No..."

Ayaan immediately noticed.

"You know what that is."

Konshu didn't answer.

Instead, he looked directly at the three of them.

"If you wish to survive..."

"Find me before he does."

Then his body dissolved into black mist.

And vanished.

Leaving the three alone on the rooftop.

Staring at the black pillar of light rising from the city.

The black pillar of light pierced the sky.

The full moon emerged from the clouds.

Its light covered the entire city.

Suddenly—

Ayaan felt his body become weightless.

Anshuman grabbed his head.

Sara's eyes began glowing white.

The symbols on their wrists shone brighter than ever before.

BOOOOM!

White energy erupted around all three of them.

Their Moon Knight forms appeared instantly.

But this time something was different.

They weren't controlling their bodies.

Ayaan tried to move.

Nothing happened.

"What's happening?!"

Their bodies suddenly turned toward the horizon.

And began moving.

Fast.

Faster than they had ever moved before.

Jumping from rooftop to rooftop.

Crossing entire streets in seconds.

The city disappeared behind them.

The mountains appeared ahead.

Then the forest.

Then ancient ruins hidden deep underground.

A massive stone door stood before them.

Symbols covered its surface.

The door slowly opened by itself.

RUMBLE...

Ancient dust filled the air.

The three entered.

The temple was enormous.

Massive pillars stretched toward the darkness above.

Thousands of years old.

Yet somehow untouched by time.

At the center of the temple sat a throne.

A broken throne.

And beside it...

Something horrifying.

Sara froze.

Anshuman stopped breathing for a moment.

Ayaan couldn't believe what he was seeing.

Lying on the ground was Konshu's head.

Separated from his body.

His glowing eyes had gone dark.

The God of Moon Knights was dead.

The air became heavy.

Then footsteps echoed through the temple.

One.

Two.

Three.

A figure sat upon the throne.

Ancient silver armor.

A torn white cape.

A sword larger than a human.

His helmet concealed his face.

Yet his presence alone felt overwhelming.

The entire temple trembled with every breath he took.

Slowly...

He lifted his head.

The three Moon Knights felt something inside them react.

As if their souls recognized him.

The knight stared at them.

Then laughed quietly.

Not out of joy.

But out of disappointment.

"So..."

"My fragments finally arrived."

The words echoed through the temple.

Ayaan tried to move.

Tried to speak.

But his body remained frozen.

The knight slowly stood.

The throne cracked beneath him.

His sword dragged across the stone floor.

SCRAAAAAPE...

The sound echoed endlessly.

Then he pointed at them.

His voice shook the temple.

"You are my souls."

The symbols on their bodies began glowing violently.

Ayaan felt unbearable pain.

Anshuman fell to one knee.

Sara screamed.

The knight stepped forward.

Every step shook the ground.

Thousands of years of loneliness filled his voice.

"Give them back."

The temple trembled.

The moonlight pouring through the ceiling suddenly turned silver.

The knight raised his hand.

And for a brief second...

Ayaan, Anshuman, and Sara saw the truth.

A battlefield.

A warrior standing alone beneath a giant moon.

That warrior.

This knight.

His soul shattering into three pieces.

One piece becoming Ayaan.

One becoming Anshuman.

One becoming Sara.

The vision vanished.

The knight looked directly at them.

For the first time...

There was sadness in his voice.

"I have waited a thousand years."

His hand slowly reached toward them.

"And now..."

"It is time for me to become whole again."

The knight's hand reached toward them.

"It is time for me to become whole again."

Suddenly—

The connection broke.

Ayaan stumbled backward.

Anshuman grabbed his own arm.

Sara gasped.

For the first time since entering the temple...

They were in control of their bodies again.

Ayaan immediately charged.

"NOT HAPPENING!"

His fist crashed into the knight.

The knight didn't move.

Not even an inch.

The ancient warrior looked down at Ayaan.

Then casually swung his arm.

BOOM!

Ayaan was launched across the temple.

He smashed through a pillar.

At the same moment Anshuman attacked from above.

A powerful kick landed on the knight's shoulder.

Nothing.

The knight grabbed Anshuman midair.

And threw him across the hall.

CRASH!

Stone exploded everywhere.

Sara used every bit of her power.

White energy surrounded the knight.

For a moment he stopped moving.

Then he simply walked through it.

As if it didn't exist.

The three Moon Knights attacked together.

Punches.

Kicks.

Energy attacks.

Everything they had.

Nothing worked.

The knight was overwhelming.

Every movement felt effortless.

Every strike carried unimaginable power.

Minutes later—

The three were on the ground.

Breathing heavily.

Their armor was cracked.

Their strength fading.

The knight slowly approached.

"I remember this."

His voice echoed through the temple.

"Even as fragments..."

"You were always stubborn."

Ayaan tried to stand.

His legs gave out.

Then—

A voice echoed inside their minds.

A familiar voice.

Konshu.

Weak.

But alive.

"Listen carefully..."

The three froze.

"Konshu?!"

The voice continued.

"My body is destroyed."

"My power is not."

The knight stopped walking.

His expression changed.

He heard it too.

"Impossible..."

Konshu's voice grew stronger.

"You cannot defeat him alone."

The three exchanged looks.

"What do we do?"

Silence.

Then Konshu spoke.

"Give me your bodies."

The temple became quiet.

Ayaan looked at Anshuman.

Anshuman looked at Sara.

Sara nodded.

Ayaan smiled.

"Let's trust him."

"Agreed."

"Agreed."

The three closed their eyes.

At the same time they spoke.

"Take them."

The moon above the temple suddenly exploded with light.

BOOOOOOM!

Silver energy flooded the chamber.

The knight took a step back.

For the first time...

He looked concerned.

The cracked Moon Knight armor began changing.

White armor transformed into silver and gold.

Ancient symbols appeared across the suits.

Massive capes formed behind them.

Their eyes glowed like miniature moons.

Power surged through every part of their bodies.

The entire temple shook.

Konshu's voice echoed through all three.

Not controlling them.

Fighting alongside them.

"Now..."

"Show him why I chose you."

The three opened their eyes.

The knight stared at them.

Then slowly smiled.

Not out of arrogance.

But excitement.

At last...

A worthy challenge.

Ayaan stepped forward.

The ground cracked beneath his feet.

Anshuman rolled his shoulders.

A shockwave spread through the temple.

Sara raised her hand.

Moonlight gathered around her like a storm.

The knight gripped his giant sword.

And for the first time in a thousand years...

He entered a battle seriously.

The real fight was about to begin.

The temple trembled.

Ancient pillars cracked.

Moonlight poured through the ceiling like a waterfall.

For the first time...

The First Knight tightened his grip on his sword.

Ayaan smiled.

"Now we're talking."

The First Knight vanished.

BOOM!

The stone floor exploded where he had been standing.

Ayaan barely reacted.

His upgraded armor moved on instinct.

He crossed his arms.

CLANG!

The giant sword struck him.

A shockwave blasted through the temple.

Pillars shattered.

Dust filled the air.

Anshuman appeared from above.

He came down like a meteor.

BOOOOM!

His punch landed directly on the First Knight's helmet.

For the first time...

The ancient warrior moved.

One step.

Then another.

He slid backwards.

The First Knight looked up.

And smiled.

"Good."

Suddenly hundreds of moon-shaped blades appeared around him.

Sara's eyes widened.

"LOOK OUT!"

The blades shot forward.

Like a silver storm.

Ayaan dashed through them.

Anshuman punched them apart.

Sara raised her hand.

A giant moon barrier appeared.

CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!

The blades smashed into it.

The entire barrier cracked.

Then shattered.

The First Knight was already behind them.

Too fast.

Way too fast.

He kicked Anshuman.

Anshuman flew through three pillars.

Before he landed—

The First Knight appeared above him.

Sword descending.

Anshuman grinned.

"You really like that sword."

At the last second he rolled away.

BOOOOM!

The sword struck the ground.

A canyon split through the temple floor.

Ayaan immediately attacked.

A right hook.

A left hook.

A spinning kick.

The First Knight blocked all three.

Then grabbed Ayaan's leg.

And threw him.

Ayaan flew across the hall.

But instead of crashing—

He used the momentum.

Flipped.

Ran across a wall.

Leaped from a pillar.

And came back even faster.

BOOM!

Their fists collided.

The temple shook.

Moonlight erupted between them.

Sara suddenly closed her eyes.

Konshu's power flowed through her.

The entire temple began glowing.

Thousands of ancient symbols appeared on the walls.

The First Knight immediately looked toward her.

"No."

For the first time...

His calm expression disappeared.

Sara had discovered something.

A seal.

An ancient seal hidden inside the temple.

The same seal that had imprisoned the First Knight centuries ago.

The First Knight charged.

Trying to stop her.

But Anshuman landed directly in front of him.

"Not happening."

The strongest punch of his life exploded forward.

BOOOOOOM!

The First Knight blocked it.

But the force pushed him backward.

Ayaan immediately joined.

Another punch.

Another.

Another.

The two brothers fought together perfectly.

No words.

No signals.

Just understanding.

Like they always had.

The First Knight was finally being pushed back.

His sword swung.

Ayaan ducked.

Anshuman jumped.

The blade missed both.

Then Ayaan grabbed the sword.

The ancient warrior's eyes widened.

"Impossible."

Ayaan gritted his teeth.

The sword was unbelievably heavy.

But Konshu's power surged.

And he stopped it.

Anshuman smiled.

"Got you."

BOOOOM!

A kick landed directly in the First Knight's chest.

The warrior was launched across the temple.

For the first time...

The First Knight crashed into a wall.

Silence.

Dust filled the chamber.

Then laughter echoed.

The First Knight stood up.

Laughing.

A deep laugh.

A happy laugh.

After a thousand years...

He was enjoying a battle again.

His armor suddenly cracked.

Black energy exploded from inside.

The moon above the temple turned red.

Konshu's voice echoed.

"NO!"

Ayaan looked upward.

"What is that?"

For the first time...

Fear appeared in Konshu's voice.

"That isn't the First Knight."

The black energy continued growing.

"It never was."

The ancient warrior raised his head.

His eyes had become completely black.

A monstrous smile spread across his face.

And the thing standing before them spoke.

A different voice.

A voice that didn't belong to the First Knight.

"Thank you."

The entire temple shook.

"For breaking my prison."

The red moon cracked.

The mountain surrounding the temple began collapsing.

And the true enemy...

Had finally awakened.

The First Knight stood before them.

Sword in hand.

Moonlight covering his armor.

Ayaan rushed first.

His feet shattered the stone beneath him.

BOOM!

His fist shot toward the First Knight's face.

The knight blocked.

But Anshuman was already there.

A spinning kick landed directly on his ribs.

CRACK!

The First Knight slid backward.

Before he could recover—

Sara raised her hand.

Silver chains erupted from the ground.

The chains wrapped around the knight's legs.

"NOW!"

Sara shouted.

Ayaan and Anshuman attacked together.

Punch.

Kick.

Elbow.

Every hit landed.

The knight broke the chains.

But the three never gave him time to breathe.

The battle turned into a storm.

The temple shook continuously.

Pillars collapsed.

The ceiling cracked.

Moonlight poured through the openings.

The First Knight swung his giant sword.

Ayaan jumped over it.

Anshuman slid beneath it.

Sara blasted the knight with moonlight energy.

The knight blocked.

But Ayaan landed on the sword.

Ran across it.

And punched the knight directly in the helmet.

BOOOOM!

The helmet cracked.

For the first time.

The First Knight smiled.

"Excellent."

He grabbed Ayaan.

And threw him across the temple.

Ayaan crashed through a wall.

Before the knight could continue—

Anshuman tackled him.

Both of them smashed through several pillars.

The knight stood.

Anshuman stood.

Both charged again.

Their fists collided.

The shockwave shattered every remaining window.

Sara closed her eyes.

The moon symbol on her armor glowed.

Thousands of ancient symbols appeared around the temple.

The knight noticed.

His expression changed.

"The seal..."

Sara opened her eyes.

"Exactly."

The symbols surrounded the knight.

The First Knight immediately charged at her.

But Ayaan appeared in front of him.

Then Anshuman.

The three stood side by side.

For the final time.

Ayaan smiled.

"Ready?"

Anshuman grinned.

"Always."

Sara nodded.

The three charged.

Everything became a blur.

Punches.

Kicks.

Energy.

Moonlight.

The knight blocked dozens of attacks.

But not all of them.

Cracks spread across his armor.

More.

And more.

Until finally—

BOOOOOOOOM!

The three landed their strongest attacks together.

The First Knight was launched into the center of the temple.

Sara completed the seal.

The symbols locked around him.

The knight tried to move.

Couldn't.

The seal tightened.

Moonlight engulfed the temple.

The First Knight looked at them.

Then smiled.

A peaceful smile.

"Well done."

The light consumed him.

The temple disappeared.

The moon disappeared.

The world shattered into white.

Everything became silent.

Then—

GAME COMPLETED

Ayaan opened his eyes.

He was lying on a couch.

Anshuman sat beside him.

Both looked around.

The apartment.

Everything was normal.

No Moon Knights.

No powers.

No missions.

No ancient temples.

Ayaan stared at Anshuman.

"Was it..."

"A game?"

Anshuman looked equally confused.

"I think so."

Suddenly a knock came at the door.

They looked at each other.

Another knock.

Ayaan stood up.

Walked to the door.

Opened it.

And froze.

Standing outside was Sara.

Not a Moon Knight.

Not a character.

A real girl.

Holding a small bag.

Sara looked at the two of them.

Then smiled.

"Hi."

Ayaan and Anshuman stood completely speechless.

Sara tilted her head.

"What?"

Anshuman pointed at her.

"You..."

Sara laughed.

"Me?"

Ayaan looked at Anshuman.

Then back at Sara.

Because the impossible truth had become reality.

Sara was real.

And somehow...

She remembered everything too.
