Chapter 10 - everything is a game?

Gamma contacted Arya through his communicator.

"Hello, Brother. This time it’s Jupiter, the wind guy, who’s going after you," reported Gamma with a worried tone.

"Oh, I see..." Arya nodded slowly. "You said earlier he’s a calm person, right?"

"Yes, he seems smart in battle."

Arya sighed. "A troublesome opponent. Alright, Gamma. Thanks for the information."

"Okay, Brother. Where’s Sister Dina?"

"She said she wanted to look for some fruit."

"In the forest?"

"Yes. There are a lot of fruits growing here, so she couldn’t resist eating."

Gamma chuckled. "Sounds delicious! Makes me miss eating together with you two!"

Arya laughed too. "Yeah, brings back memories. But I’m sorry, Gamma. You have to stay away from us..."

"It’s okay, Brother. Oh right, see you later. Say hi to Sister Dina for me!"

"Yeah, see you. Don’t push yourself too hard."

A few minutes later...

"Reisa-chan, want to come with me?" Venus’s gentle voice was heard.

Gamma turned. "Come where, Sister?"

"To a certain place. I want to show you something interesting."

Gamma hesitated for a moment, then smiled. (A certain place? Could this be the moment they reveal their secret?) "Alright, Sister."

Venus and Gamma left.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the forest...

"Hey, Dina!" Arya called out, walking quickly toward her. "Gamma just contacted me. He said Jupiter the wind guy will be chasing us. And he sends his regards to you."

"Gamma contacted?! Why didn’t you call me?! I wanted to hear his voice too!"

Arya shrugged. "If he talks to you, the conversation would take too long."

Dina squinted. "Are you saying I’m talkative?"

"Not really..."

"So who’s going to fight Jupiter later?"

"What do you think? They say he’s calm, unlike the others. Might be trickier."

Dina considered it. "Hmmm, how about we both take him on?"

"Then it’ll look like we’re ganging up on him. Just you, you can handle it, right?"

Dina smiled confidently. "Alright, leave it to me."

A few hours later, their communicator rang. Beep beep.

Arya quickly answered. "Gamma? What is it?"

A breathless voice came from the other end. "Haaa... Brother... important information... haa... hueeekkk..."

"What?! Gamma?! Breathe first, calm yourself!"

"Huuu... Brother... this is bad... about the King’s plan... He plans to spread human experiment results to attack the entire kingdom!"

"What?! What do you mean?!"

"Experiment?!" Dina exclaimed in shock.

Gamma explained quickly and heavily. Venus had taken him to a secret place and showed him the results of experiments—humans turned into monsters.

"Big Sister Venus said this is the beginning of the attack. When panic spreads, the kingdom’s army will be mobilized, and Seven Eclipse will attack all the city’s citizens."

Arya gritted his teeth. "Why use monsters? Isn’t Seven Eclipse’s power alone enough?"

"Yes! But this is part of a bigger plan... The King has a prophet who, seven years ago, said that seven years later, a justice enforcer would be born. The King, who loves challenges, prepared everything since then."

"How crazy is he?!" Arya was shocked. "We’re just pawns to him?!"

"He really is insane..." Dina whispered.

Gamma explained that the experiments were spread across several cities Exone had visited—cities where corrupt rulers had been executed, and yet the experiments continued under their subordinates.

"The biggest one is in the capital," said Gamma.

Arya stood up straight. "Can you stop the one there?"

"Don’t give Gamma such a dangerous task!" Dina quickly cut in.

"I’m not sure, Brother... the place is too large..."

"Alright. We’ll meet in the capital in two weeks. Don’t act alone."

"Understood, Brother!"

"Take care!" added Dina.

"Yes, Sister! Thank you! See you!"

"See you!"

After the communication ended, Dina muttered, "Human experiments into monsters... how insane is that."

Arya nodded. "And the King has planned everything for seven years..."

"We have to get to Zerio city quickly and find the experiment site!"

"Right."

The journey continued. One more day to Zerio.

“Dina,” said Arya. “Can you handle the execution alone? I want to search around the city for the experiment site."

"It’s still afternoon, why not go together?"

"If we’re together, we’ll be easily recognized. We’ll be more efficient alone."

"Alright. I’ll look for information about the city ruler."

"See you."

"Yeah."

They split up.

Arya activated his magic. Search!

"Hmmm... nothing on the surface... maybe underground?" He expanded his magic range. Search!

"Oh, lucky!"

He found a ruined house, but underneath it was a large space. That’s where the experiments were being done.

Two guards spotted him.

"Who’s that?! A kid?! You’re in the wrong place!"

Bang! Bang! Arya shot. The two guards collapsed.

The iron door opened. A foul stench hit him.

Arya groaned. "Ughh... what’s that smell?!"

He put on a scented face cover, but the stench still pierced through.

Upon entering, his eyes widened.

Human bodies inside tubes. Some body parts had already turned into monsters.

"Help... us..."

Arya was silent. Even healing couldn’t bring them back. And even if they were saved, would society accept them?

"Please... kill... us..."

Arya nodded slowly. "Alright... if that’s what you want. I’ll end your suffering."

"Who’s that?! An intruder?!" Scientists and guards panicked.

Arya raised his pistol. "Fire Shot! Fire Shot! Fire Shot!"

The guards burned alive.

Arya walked to the center of the room. "Ultra Freeze!"

The entire room froze. Tubes, victims, everything was frozen in silence.

He drew his katana. "Sword Blazing!"

His fiery slash swept through the row of tubes.

Ice crystals shattered, as if burying their sorrow in peace.

Arya stood, his face filled with determination.

"Just wait, you bastard King. You think this is all a game... but I will stop you!"
