"Cough, cough… Bro, I can tell from your bone structure that your strength must be impressive. Care to test it out?"

Xie Huanyue narrowed his eyes and smiled faintly.

It was to be expected—among boys, the title of "boss" was always fiercely contested. This was already a restrained approach for Xie Huanyue. After all, as one of the extremely rare Soul Elders among the freshmen, he carried the pride of a genius unwilling to bow to anyone.

But the pressure Su Wen exuded was intense; a single glance made him involuntarily swallow. That was why he wanted to test their strength, to regain a bit of face.

"Sure."

Su Wen grinned. He had been looking for an opportunity anyway.

"Right here?" Xie Huanyue chuckled.

"Right here."

Their gazes met.

Both felt they could deal with the other without much effort, seeing no need to make a special trip to the dueling arena.

BOOM!!!

With a deafening crash—

A dark figure blasted through the wall and shot backward. The bulky form embedded itself into the corridor wall, the sheer force of the impact making the entire building tremble. The noise drew countless astonished glances from nearby students.

"How about that?"

Su Wen calmly stepped over the debris, walking out of the hole where their door used to be. The door and the surrounding wall had been obliterated by the impact, leaving the room without a shred of privacy.

"Huff… huff…"

Xie Huanyue clutched his stomach, his face twisted in pain as if his insides were churning. He looked at Su Wen with a flicker of terror. Just one simple punch… How?!

He hadn't sensed Su Wen release any soul power at all. Where did that monstrous physical strength come from? A single punch had forced him to summon his Martial Soul just to survive. That crushing pressure—it had been the threat of death!

He could have killed me!

Is this year's class at Shrek Academy filled with monsters?!

Meanwhile, hearing the commotion, students from the first and third floors crowded the railings of the second-floor corridor. Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong were among them. They had been fighting themselves and initially thought it was an earthquake, only to discover another, far more intense fight was happening upstairs.

Seeing the wreckage, Wang Dong's lips twitched.

Compared to this, their earlier "fight" was basically child's play.

"That's Xie Huanyue, a Soul Elder! How is he getting beaten so badly with no chance to fight back?"

"Maybe he was careless. He hasn't even used a soul skill yet."

"Which class is that other guy from? Damn, he's fierce! Even if Xie Huanyue didn't use his skills, just forcing him to summon his Martial Soul is impressive enough. Wait—he hasn't used a soul skill either… No, hold on! He hasn't even summoned his Martial Soul!"

"…"

Hearing this, Wang Dong's eyes flickered with surprise.

A Soul Elder from before the age of twelve?

He himself was only at the twenty-first rank. By the time he turned twelve, he would probably be around that level. But who was this guy who could beat down Xie Huanyue so easily?

Shrek Academy really is full of freaks…

"…"

"I'm not convinced!"

After catching his breath, Xie Huanyue roared with fury.

He was a chosen one, a top-tier genius who had triumphed over tens of thousands. With so many people watching, how could he admit defeat so easily?!

"Second Soul Skill: Mighty Sweep!"

"Third Soul Skill: Absolute Amplification!"

As his yellow and purple soul rings flared, his body was enveloped in a purple glow and swelled like a ball. His speed skyrocketed. Before most could react, he crashed toward Su Wen.

RUMBLE!

The entire freshman dormitory shook violently as another section of the wall exploded outward. A purple blur shot through the air, broken glass and rubble glinting in the sunlight.

Su Wen stood calmly at the very edge of the broken floor, a single step from falling, watching the scene unfold.

In the next instant, his figure vanished.

Reappearing above Xie Huanyue in what felt like slow motion to his horrified eyes, Su Wen delivered a vicious whip kick to his abdomen.

The kick cracked the air, sharp enough to nearly create a sonic boom.

BOOM!!!

When the dust settled, a large crater marred the ground, with cracks spiderwebbing outward in every direction. At its center lay Xie Huanyue, a trickle of blood at the corner of his mouth, staring at the sky with a lifeless expression.

"Want to continue?" Su Wen walked closer, offering a hand with a smile.

"You… you didn't even use your Martial Soul?" Xie Huanyue felt his spirit shatter. He had gone all out, only to be utterly crushed by someone his age who had relied purely on raw physical strength.

A monster!

A goddamn monster!

"My Martial Soul is… special," Su Wen said with a faint smile.

"Yeah, I can see that…" Xie Huanyue wiped the blood from his lips, his body shrinking back to its normal chubby form. He grabbed Su Wen's hand and pulled himself up. "Thanks, bro. From now on, you're the boss. I, Xie Huanyue, answer only to you!"

"Let's go eat."

Su Wen waved his hand dismissively and started walking toward the cafeteria.

Xie Huanyue dusted himself off and hurried to follow.

Suddenly, Su Wen stopped and glanced back at the floors above.

The windows on every level were crowded with the faces of students. The moment his gaze met theirs, they scattered instantly.

Only after the two of them were gone did the building erupt into noisy chatter.

"Elder Mu."

Du Weilun bowed respectfully to the old man on the bench.

"It's fine. Just have it repaired before the term officially starts. It's normal for kids to be rowdy; they have too much energy and nowhere to vent it. Just remind them to use the dueling arena next time," Mu En said calmly, without opening his eyes.

"Yes." Du Weilun nodded quickly.

He glanced at the distant dormitory and the large crater in the ground. The corner of his mouth twitched.

Kids these days are certainly durable.

He knew how important Su Wen was to Shrek Academy, so this level of "misconduct" was nothing. At most, it warranted a gentle reminder, delivered with the softest tone possible.

He couldn't risk it. Although the boy didn't seem particularly mischievous, if the Soul Tool Department managed to poach him, Yan Shaozhe would probably beat him half to death.

With a wave of his hand, the academy's construction team rushed forward, their tools clanking. Most were soul masters, and though the strongest was only a Soul Ancestor, they were experts at construction and repair.

In just an hour, all traces of the battle were gone. The building looked brand new, with no sign of damage.

Bowing once more to Elder Mu, Du Weilun led his team away.

"So strong…"

Wu Feng's red lips were slightly parted, her expression one of pure shock as she stared outside.

"And the terrifying part is that was just his physical strength. He didn't use a single skill!" She had seen Su Wen use the Ice Jade Scorpion's "Ice Domain" before—the memory alone made her stomach ache faintly.

"I know…"

Ning Tian leaned on the windowsill, her chin resting in her hand, her beautiful eyes shimmering.

"He really is strong."

Wu Feng: "…"

The corner of her mouth twitched. My lady probably only heard the 'he's strong' part and missed the rest…
