The next morning.
When Andrew woke up, Mahiru Shiina wasn't in his arms anymore.
He could hear soft sounds coming from the kitchen—Mahiru Shiina, dressed in an apron, was humming a little tune as she made breakfast.
Once the food was ready, she took off her apron and quietly returned to the room.
Seeing the man still asleep, she bent down and gently poked his cheek with her small hand.
"Time to get up, Mr. Naughty. It's already morning, remember? You've got something important to do today."
Without even thinking, Andrew opened his arms and gently wrapped them around her slim waist.
Then he rubbed his cheek against her chest, enjoying that sweet scent and the incredible softness.
"Mmm… quit it. The food's gonna get cold and taste bad."
Watching him being all clingy, Shiina's beautiful face turned a little red.
She seemed to remember what happened last night and instantly felt shy again.
She pushed lightly against his chest and scolded in a soft voice, "Stop messing around. You really need to get up."
Hearing her gentle protest, Andrew finally let go, looking pleased.
After getting up and freshening up, he sat down to enjoy the delicious breakfast Angel Shiina had made for him. It satisfied both his stomach and his soul.
For someone like him, a soul from another world, having such a sweet and gentle person looking after him felt like pure bliss.
That's why he had to work hard to protect this happiness.
After breakfast, Andrew changed into some casual clothes and raised an eyebrow at Shiina.
"How's this look? Think it's okay for meeting with the editor?"
Shiina stepped up to him and gently straightened his sleeves, carefully looking him over before pouting a little.
"The only problem is… it's too eye-catching. I kinda wish you were a bit uglier."
That way, he'd be all hers.
Maybe she could feed him rich, nutritious meals every day…
And fatten him up!
Then no other girls—like Asada—would look at him with those sparkly eyes again.
Andrew chuckled and kissed her lightly on the forehead.
"Well, I'm heading out. I'll probably swing by the convenience store later to work with you."
Shiina nodded shyly, but then couldn't help asking with concern:
"You're already a light novel author… isn't working with me going to affect your job?"
"Nah, it won't. I'm just going to discuss the publishing contract today. That's more about establishing my position in the company—it's not like I'll get paid right away."
"Working at the convenience store is different. You get paid right after your shift. Plus, it's chill."
"Also… you working there alone makes me nervous. What if some creep like Kurata starts eyeing you? I need to be there to keep an eye on things!"
Shiina puffed out her cheeks.
"I'm not that helpless, okay? I've trained in Aikido!"
Andrew raised an eyebrow and gave her an amused look.
"Oh yeah? Then why didn't you use Aikido on me when I made a move on you?"
Shiina's face turned red with embarrassment and frustration. She lightly punched him with her small fist.
"You've got some nerve bringing that up! You totally caught me off guard. I didn't even have time to react."
Andrew caught her tiny fist, kissed it gently, and then pulled her into a soft hug, his hand stroking her golden hair.
"Yeah, I'm the worst. The moment I saw you, I fell for you."
"As for that night… when you've sorted out your feelings, tell me properly, okay?"
"Mm."
The girl nodded slightly, breathing in his scent. Her heartbeat quickened on instinct.
It gave her this overwhelming sense of security that she just couldn't get enough of.
"Well then, I'm off. See you later."
He gave her a final head pat and stepped out the door—his first step toward becoming the King of Light Novels.
Once Andrew left, Shiina originally planned to head to the convenience store with Nanami Aoyama .
But Nanami turned her down with a smile—she had an audition at a voice acting agency today.
...
Back to Andrew.
He took the train to Akihabara, went into a maid café, and found an empty seat.
After ordering a coffee and realizing he had some time, he pulled out his laptop and started typing.
A short while later...
The person he had agreed to meet—Machida Sonoko—finally arrived.
The moment she laid eyes on Andrew, her eyes lit up.
What a handsome guy!
Black hair, black eyes, tall and well-built, with a calm and mature vibe.
He looked like a protagonist straight out of a manga.
Maybe the hero in his light novel was actually based on himself?
Machida took a deep breath, smiled, and walked over to him.
"Hi there. You must be Sensei Twilight Skies. I'm Machida Sonoko, the editor from Undying River Publishing. It's nice to finally meet you."
She was dressed in a black office outfit with a pencil skirt, her short hair framing her refined features as she extended a fair, delicate hand to him.
Andrew smiled and nodded, politely shaking her hand in return.
"I'm Andrew—pen name Twilight Skies. Nice to meet you, Miss Machida."
