Catching the divine weapon that would become famous throughout future history, Cang Ye didn't immediately try to draw it. Instead, he looked up at Morgan, his face showing his confusion.
"My lady Morgan, didn't you say this sword was to be left for Arthur or Vortigern? And in your plan, isn't the ownership of the sword a crucial part?"
"You seem to have missed my first sentence, Lamorak." Morgan tilted her head to look at him, her deep blue eyes like the ocean. "I said, whoever can draw the Holy Sword, no matter who they are—be they a knight or a farmer—if they can draw it, I will give it to them. That applies to you as well."
She slowly sat down on the edge of the bed, her fair, stocking-clad legs crossed, her expression unreadable but enough to make his heart race.
"Come, Lamorak. Show me your strength."
"As you command, my Queen."
With things having come to this, Cang Ye no longer hesitated. He gripped the hilt with one hand and held the scabbard, Avalon, with the other, using all his strength.
But reality was harsh. Even when he used all his physical and magical power to try and draw or resonate with the sword, Excalibur remained stubbornly sheathed, as if glued in place by some strange energy.
"It seems it's no good." In the end, Cang Ye could only put the Holy Sword down with a sigh of regret.
Thinking about it, it was to be expected. This was a divine weapon forged with the will of the planet itself, a symbol of being acknowledged and accepted by the world. It also contained the Celtic mythological themes of 'dominion' and 'destruction,' a symbol of a hero's power, the pinnacle of holy swords. The weapon of the King of Kings, the Sword of Swords. It was impossible for him to draw such a thing.
After all, if he, an 'alien' transmigrated into the Type-Moon world, could be recognized by the world's will in place of Artoria, it would be truly laughable.
"Even you can't do it? It seems that so-called fairy prophecy has some credibility after all." Although she hadn't held high hopes for him drawing it, seeing the man who was arguably the finest knight in all of Britain fail to budge the sword even with all his might still surprised Morgan.
But she quickly composed herself and spoke calmly, "In that case, we need not concern ourselves with this sword any longer. Just leave it and wait for that nightmare to arrive."
Hearing her mention the 'nightmare,' Cang Ye knew exactly who she meant. But would someone as cunning as Merlin really risk walking into Morgan's stronghold, the Unfalling City of Camelot, just for the Holy Sword? Cang Ye was deeply skeptical. Merlin's methods were well-known, after all.
When he raised this concern, Morgan's reply was firm and certain. "There is no need to worry. Given how much faith Merlin has in his prophecy, he will absolutely not give up on this Holy Sword."
After her decisive answer, she waved her hand at the sword in his grasp. The next moment, a faint, clear fragrance wafted from it. It was the scent of flower petals.
At this, Cang Ye understood. Merlin had already left his mark on the Holy Sword. With this mark, he was certain to find them. And Morgan, having discovered this early on, was thus completely confident.
"Alright. If you have no more questions, then I shall rest." Seeing the frown on his face relax, Morgan said no more. She began to remove her black gown, leaving only her undergarments, and lay down on the large, velvet bed.
After she spoke, Cang Ye also very naturally began to remove his own clothes.
"I don't believe I said you could sleep with me tonight." Morgan turned her head, her gaze sweeping over his perfect musculature. Though a light flashed in her eyes, she forced herself to remain calm.
"My lady Morgan, you once said that for every night henceforth, I am to serve you and bring you pleasure," Cang Ye replied, his face a mask of composure. He had already stripped completely, his body, which had been played with and ravaged by her countless times, once again exposed to her eyes.
"...Lamorak, have I been paying too much attention to you, giving you unrealistic ideas?" Feeling the bed dip beside her as a hot body lay down, Morgan felt her face grow warm. Even though they had done this countless times, that strange emotion still surged up in her heart.
"I will not fall in love with you, Lamorak." Morgan turned away, forcibly suppressing the desire that was igniting within her as well.
But this action was only met with his arms wrapping around her waist, holding her from behind. At the same time, his deep, moist voice whispered in her ear.
"It's alright, my lady Morgan. As long as I love you, that is enough."
Another night of pleasure and silence passed.
As it turned out, Morgan's understanding of Merlin was spot on.
Just half a month later, Merlin learned from the fairies that the Holy Sword of the Planet had been taken by Morgan. And, as expected, he also learned of her promise.
Even though he knew Morgan wouldn't do something so meaningless, and that she couldn't possibly just hand the sword over to Arthur without demanding something in return, Merlin had no choice but to seek her out.
However, just as Cang Ye had predicted, being as cunning as he was, Merlin knew that if he came to Camelot in person, he would likely be suppressed on the spot. So, he chose to visit her in a dream.
That night, Cang Ye only smelled a fragrance of flowers drifting in from the window. Then, Morgan, who was lying beside him during a mid-session break, seemed to sense something and fell into a deep sleep with her eyes closed.
Cang Ye, who was not invited by Merlin, did not know what they discussed in the dream. He only knew that when Morgan opened her eyes again, her lips were curved in a victor's smile.
"Look forward to it, Lamorak."
Morgan turned her head, her sapphire-blue eyes shining with the confidence of one who holds victory in their hands. She caressed his cheek and said, "In this battle for the throne of Britain, I will be the true winner."
