What exactly was he feeling when he left Artoria?
If he were to analyze it closely, Cang Ye himself couldn't say whether it was the relief of completing his mission or the indescribable feeling of facing the girl's naked desire. I know that from the perspective of a knight and a 'white moonlight' figure, I'm devastatingly effective against you, but to actually have me betray Morgan and switch to your side like Gawain and the others... that's just not possible...
He wasn't sure if it was his imagination, but Cang Ye felt that the deeper his contact with Artoria became, the more he felt a strange sense of, 'If my lord does not forsake me, I am willing to follow.'
But for Cang Ye, who had already grasped the ultimate meaning of water, recognized his own self, and whose heart was as clear as a flowing stream, such a thing was absolutely impossible. The knight Lamorak's life was dedicated to Morgan, the Queen of Camelot. For him, Morgan would always be the only choice.
After much thought and consultation with his useless system, Cang Ye concluded that this was most likely the 'corrective force of fate' at play. Just as the Lamorak of history eventually belonged to Artoria, this so-called fate was trying to pull the Lamorak whose identity had been completely usurped by Cang Ye back onto the 'correct' path, to have him be won over by King Arthur's charisma and bow before her armor, just like Gawain and Agravain.
This could be seen in the attitude of Merlin, who firmly believed that 'fate is irreversible.' He probably thought that no matter how much Cang Ye struggled now, no matter how loyal and devoted he appeared to be to Morgan, he would eventually succumb to fate and become one of them. Therefore, even though he knew full well that Cang Ye's purpose was to break the Sword of Selection and sabotage the foundation of King Arthur's fame—the prophecy of the chosen king—to make the people of Britain doubt and distrust her, Merlin was still friendly towards him and let him leave.
He'll be on our side eventually anyway. Let him make a scene now. The more fuss he makes, the more embarrassing it will be for him later. With this mindset of watching a good show, even looking forward to it, Merlin's attitude towards Cang Ye's actions was one of complete indulgence. After all, Artoria was his only disciple. He couldn't let her be led astray by something beyond his control. If anyone else had dared to tarnish his Son of the Red Dragon, Merlin wouldn't have hesitated to show them the pinnacle of illusionism, what it meant to never reach reality. He had plenty of magic and methods.
But all of this was just Merlin's own self-righteous thinking. If Cang Ye knew, he would only have one thing to say: "I'm a 'transmigrator' from another world, an 'alien.' Your so-called fate can't hold me down."
Sorry, but in the Type-Moon universe with its fragile worldview, aliens can do whatever they want.
But to get back on topic, the reason Cang Ye had left Artoria in such a hurry was not just due to personal emotional reasons, but also because he was injured. The 'Arondight' he had manifested using only his Noble Phantasm 'Spirit Stream: Myriad Forms' was ultimately just a replica. In fact, he suspected that even Lancelot with the real 'Arondight' probably couldn't have blocked the Saberface's beam attack without a scratch. Caliburn was, after all, a king's sword on the same level as Excalibur. Such an artifact, imbued with some of the world's rules and properties, would inevitably unleash devastating power upon shattering.
So, even though he had defended with all his might, he hadn't been able to block it completely. Besides some burns all over his body, a shard of the Sword of Selection was lodged in his chest. He had tried to pull it out himself, but the shard, as if possessing a residual consciousness, would move around to evade his grasp and even prevented his body from healing. It felt like the vengeful resentment of the King's Sword getting back at him for causing it to be broken.
Thus, with no other choice, Cang Ye rushed back to the royal city of Camelot to once again seek an audience with his queen, Morgan.
"This is the first time I've seen you in such a sorry state, Lamorak." Morgan's tender, jade-like fingers gently traced a line across Cang Ye's broad chest. His skin was no longer as fair and smooth as it once was; it was now darker and covered in scars of all sizes. But this didn't detract from his appearance; rather, it exuded a kind of rugged, masculine charm.
"It seems you took quite a beating from my foolish little sister." Her tone was unreadable, but Cang Ye could see a hint of amusement and curiosity in her eyes. Clearly, besides being pleased to see a different side of him, she was also puzzled that Artoria had managed to injure her knight. After all, as the person who knew him best, Morgan was well aware that he was among the top tier on this land in every aspect.
"My apologies, Lady Morgan. As your knight, I have brought you shame," Cang Ye's tone remained humble and respectful. This was the mode in which they got along best.
"It matters not. To complete the mission right under Merlin's nose is already an outstanding achievement. You deserve a reward." Morgan waved her hand dismissively, her gaze slowly sweeping over his bare upper body before settling on the lower right side of his chest. There was a wound there, hastily bandaged, with blood still seeping through the gauze. That was where the shard of the King's Sword remained.
"Hmph. To actually detonate the Sword of Selection's energy... what a foolish creature she is, that Arthur," Morgan sneered, her tone dripping with disdain for the young knight-king. She then examined the wound carefully, confirmed it wasn't a major issue, and said to him directly, "I will remove it for you. If it hurts, endure it. Otherwise, you will bear the consequences. Understood?"
"Yes, Lady Morgan." Cang Ye took a few steps forward, bringing his body closer to hers.
And though she had told him to endure the pain and bear the consequences, the moment she began, she subconsciously slowed her movements and the flow of her magical energy. Noticing this, the corners of Cang Ye's mouth curved up slightly. Fortunately, he hid it well, and Morgan didn't see his expression change.
Slowly extending her jade-like hand, the moment it touched his body, her hand seemed to turn intangible, instantly sinking into his flesh. The scene reminded them both of the past. Back then, Cang Ye was just a weak water fairy, and Morgan would often put her hand inside his body, feeling the cool sensation travel up her fingertips, her fingers surrounded by a gentle flow of water. Hmm... though on the current Cang Ye, the scene was a bit more eerie and grotesque.
Before long, Morgan grasped the shard of the King's Sword that was trying to evade her grasp inside his body, then pulled it out and incinerated it, all in one smooth motion.
"Thank you, my Queen." Feeling the abnormality in his body disappear, Cang Ye breathed a sigh of relief. Heaven knew why a shard of the King's Sword would have such a disgusting effect, like some kind of curse.
"When it is just the two of us, you need not be so formal, Lamorak." After dealing with the shard, Morgan's gaze did not leave his body. Her hand once again caressed his torso, but this time, it was not to feel the curves and contours of his body, but to touch the scars, big and small, as if wanting to smooth them all away.
"These wounds... they must hurt, don't they?" Morgan murmured softly, a trace of almost imperceptible heartache in her voice, like a little girl discovering a crack on her beloved doll.
"A knight's glory is to bring honor to his lord. These are but medals of my loyalty to you," Cang Ye said, capturing her hand and pressing it tightly against his cheek, a gentle smile on his face.
"...Foolish knight." Morgan turned her head away slightly, not letting him see the emotion overflowing in her eyes. But this time, he seemed to be deliberately defying her. The more she didn't want to look at him, the more he brought his head forward, actively seeking a kiss.
After a brief, tsundere-like moment, the Queen of Camelot finally relented, responding to her knight's affection. Lovers need no words; their affection is shown in their actions and their eyes.
After another period of tenderness, Morgan and Cang Ye still did not proceed to the heights of passion, as they had an important matter to attend to.
"Don't wear your armor again, Lamorak. Go change into a formal suit and let me see you in it," Morgan instructed, tidying her hair which he had disheveled. "And remember to bring Britomart. Someone has specifically requested to see her at this banquet."
"Understood, Lady Morgan." Cang Ye nodded in response, then followed her instructions and opened a cabinet in her room, which contained clothes she had specially prepared for him.
After their passionate kiss, Morgan had told him about the 'banquet.' Given their current status, the event they were to attend was not an ordinary human banquet, but a very special one that took place only once every few decades: a fairy banquet. That is, a banquet of the Fairy Queens.
And given the current era and the situation in Britain, this banquet was naturally not simple. Cang Ye guessed it was likely related to Morgan's future plans. After all, if it were just an ordinary tea party, she wouldn't have needed to summon all the Fairy Queens, nor would she have been in the mood for it.
After some thought, he decided not to dwell on it. Since Morgan was taking him with her, he would find out what he needed to know when the time came. For now, his task was to dress handsomely. As the Queen's companion, he couldn't afford to embarrass her.
