The following week, Yichen's mother finally returned home, leaving the house quieter than before. That evening, Yichen and Zhaoyan sat together on the couch, the soft glow of the television flickering across their faces as they watched a movie.
Lu Nian stepped out of his room, dressed neatly and adjusting his jacket. Yichen glanced at him and asked, "Where are you going?"
"I'm heading to the club," Lu Nian replied casually. "My friend is busy with his husband, so I'm bored. I'll just go dance, drink, and pass some time."
Zhaoyan's sharp eyes fixed on him. "Are you jealous?" he asked with a faint smile.
Lu Nian scoffed, his voice a little defensive. "Why would I be jealous? I just don't want to rot at home, that's all."
Yichen's gaze shifted back to the movie. "Don't drink too much. I'm not coming to pick you up."
