Rio saw an opportunity for Aya to get away. In front of them was a slope leading to the running river down below. Rio grabbed Aya's face towards him so that she could look him in the eyes. "Do you trust me?" he said. Aya looked at Rio's eyes, she burst into tears and replied " Yes I… I trust you".
Rio pushed Aya into the running river. The knights finally closed in on him with one of them pinning him to the ground. Although he was face first on the floor he enjoyed the disappointed eyes the bandits made seeing the river scoop Aya away, Rio could not help but smile.
The bandits looked at Rio with most disappointed eyes and walked away. " Let's move boys, we can't deal with no knights."
Rio was still struggling face first on the ground. A still boot, clearly armor, waked in front of him. Rio tried to look up but the sun blocked his view of this man. "What do we have here… huh!?" the large man said in a deep voice. His eyes stabbing Rio like a sword to the heart. "He's clearly strong," Rio thought to himself.
"A riftborn huh… What are you doing out here? Don't you know where your place is riftborn"?
The other knights stood him up and faced him with the knight who spoke to him before. That brown hair, the golden armor and that scar across his face. There is no mistaking it, he is the captain of the royal knights, " I can feel the intense spirit energy around him, not to mention that aura" Rio thought to himself as he stood in shock. He is the strongest warrior this kingdom ever had by far. Rio thought to himself, his eyes wide open in panic.
"What should we do with this one captain?" one of the guards asked, pointing directly at Rio. "Let's take him back to the castle for now." the captain responded, making his way to his horse.
Rio was dragged into another cage but this time he was completely alone in the cage and the cage was not covered at all. At this point everyone in the city was looking at him while the cage was dragged across the city. As usual Rio did not seem at all in fear for he knows he can break out of this cage with ease.
The one thing that he did not understand is that all the knights were riding in front of him like no one cared if he escaped or not. That was not about to stop Rio from escaping though. Without even thinking twice he took out a pin at the back of his clothes. He started pinning the lock like what he did with the other cage earlier.
"What… What the hell is going on here. I can't open the lock." Rio said in a soft voice not trying to race attention on him. "Don't bother kid, it won't budge. That cage is reinforced with bariya magic." the knight did not even look at Rio as he said that. It was that he has eyes at the back of his head Rio though growling as he set down.
A few minutes later the carriages stopped at the back entry of the castle. The captain did not even look towards Rio, he just made his way inside the castle. The rest of the knights dragged Rio out the cage. They started dragging him into the underground entrance.
"Where the hell are you taking me!? What the hell is this? Let me go! " Rio scrimped at the top of his lungs.
Someone watches them unnoticed from the horse stable just across the backdoor entrance. "What an interesting boy that is. I wonder who he is"
Rio was taken to the cell just beneath the castle. He was dragged across many cells, most of them were criminals and riftborns. Rio was taken to a separate room. This room had a still door. The knights striped Rio and tied him across the wall like a crucifixion.
"The kid is a goner for sure."
"Ye man, he should have just stayed in the slums."
The knight mumbled as they walked away, closing the still door leaving Rio on the wall naked.
The captain knight made his way to the first prince room to make a report of what they found. "Prince luk, I'm here to make a report."
"So tell me captain what you found."
The captain looking hesitant as he was trying to answer prince luk's question
"We found the ogre girl ... .but she got away. A boy was with her and he helped her escape."
Prince Luke, not looking too happy but calm, picked up a glass of wine and took a sip and looked the captain dead in the eye.
"She escaped," you say" giving the captain an unpleasant smile.
" Now look here Captain Siya, you had one job to do and you failed! Did you at least bring the boy she was with?"
The captain nodded his head and started leading prince Luke to the cell where Rio was held.
After a few minutes they reached the cell where Rio was kept. The door slowly opened and inside was Rio tied up against the wall.
"So you must be the famous boy who freed my ogre huh."
The first prince of Benvill prince Luke Benvill. I can sense a large amount of spirit energy surging from him, this energy rivals that of the knight's captain. Rio thought to himself.
"Who decided she was your majesty?"Rio replayed with the same confidence he had back with the bandits.
"What insolence, is this how you spick to the price you riftborn."the captain said to Rio giving him a punch to the guts.
Rio spits out blood in front of his mouth and starts laughing.
"You sure know how to throw a punch, captain , that one hurts."
Don't get too confident kid next time i won't hold back.
That was holding back? The next one is going to kill me. Rio thought to himself trying so hard not to show signs of weakness.
"You are a brave one, what's your name?" Prince Luke asked Rio with a smile showing that he was impressed Rio managed to withstand Captain Siya's punch.
"My name is Rio" he answered smiling back at him showing no signs of being intimidated.
Prince Luke turned to the captain and gave an order to touch Rio; he brakes and walks out of the room. Captain Terrien looked at Rio with a smile of pleasure showing just how much he is going to enjoy this.
As he smiled in walks two maids carrying a box that seemed a little heavy for them.
The captain slowly opened the box and took out what other soldiers called his favorite toys. He took out three weapons in the box: a wipe with spikes on the tip of it, a two ball battle mace and a strange looking stick.
He turned and looked at Rio, he started walking towards him holding the spiked whip. The two maids behind him walked out of the room. All that was left was Rio, the captain and the weapons. The captain did not say a single word nor did Rio. Silence filled the room until the captain started wiping.
The first whip to the stomach left a large ska and Rio led out an intense crime of pain. The captain launched the second whip and as he pulled the whip back to him the spikes at the tip tore some of the skin off Rio led out a scream once more followed by a cry of pain. The captain continued with the whip for 2 minutes straight.
After 2 minutes he sweeched to the two ball battle mace. This time he aimed for the face Rio just screamed because there was nothing he could do about this,blood poured to the floor like water. The captain continued for another 2 minutes straight until he switched weapons again.
The 3rd weapon, the long strange stick. Rio thought nothing highly of this weapon.
The weapon was inserted with some gravity magic. The captain swung the stick directly at Rio's chest, his ribs creaked. The minute it touches the body with force the magic is triggered. Rio felt like he was hit by a large bolder to the chest. And Rio passed out.
"Look at that did not even last 30 minutes, how disappointing." The captain left the room leaving Rio bleeding to death. His Spirit energy was quickly dropping.
A few minutes after the captain left. Rio felt a presence . Someone appears , a mysterious woman dressed in black, shining black hair and silver eyes that shine like the moon. Her presence shook the entire room. Her spirit energy filled the entire room. Her dark aura was so dense the room felt warm.
"You poor thing, how could they do this to you?" she said, teaching Rio's face gently, her eyes sparkling with tears.
"Who are you?" Rio asked as his vision fades , eventually passing out once more.
