Adrian's POV
"I promise." I wiped her tears with my thumb, trying to keep my own panic out of my voice. "I'll bring Sera back to you. I swear."
She sniffled, her bottom lip trembling.
I handed her to Albert, who took her gently. "Take care of her," I said.
"Of course, Master."
I didn't waste another second. I turned and ran for the front door, my heart pounding in my ears. The moment I stepped outside into the cool night air, I stopped and closed my eyes.
"Blake," I called internally. "Blake, I need you."
There was a pause, then Blake's presence surged forward in my mind. "What's wrong?" His voice was slightly sleepy but concerned.
"Seraphina's missing."
Instantly, panic exploded through our shared consciousness. "What?! What do you mean mate's missing?! Where is mate? What happened? Did someone take her? Is she hurt?"
