Adrian's POV
The young woman shook her head nervously. "No, sir. I haven't, Madam."
I moved to the next one. Same answer.
My chest was getting tighter with each negative response. Then I remembered—maybe she was with Alicia. I headed straight to Alicia's room and knocked once before pushing the door open.
My daughter was sitting at her small desk, coloring something. When she saw me, her face lit up and she jumped down from her chair, running over.
"Daddy!" She grabbed my hand. "Do you need something?"
"Have you seen Seraphina?"
Her smile faded slightly as she shook her head. "No. Isn't she with you?"
My jaw tightened. "No."
I turned to leave, but Alicia's little footsteps followed me out into the hallway. "Daddy, why are you looking for Sera?" she called after me, her voice worried. "Did she not tell you where she was going?"
"No," I said shortly, heading for the stairs.
