Morris guided me into his office with purposeful strides, securing the lock behind us before leading me directly to his expansive desk. The gentle click of the lock echoed in the quiet room.
"Our home is bursting with guests right now, and I simply can't wait for them all to depart," he whispered, his breath warm against my ear. "I've missed you terribly, my angel. Every moment apart has been agony."
"I've missed you too," I replied, my lips curving into a smile that he quickly captured with his own, enveloping me in his strong arms.
