Eddie's POV
"Mother, I swear you're getting sick just to ruin my plans!" Murphy's voice echoed through our hallway as she berated Celia, who was curled up in bed with what appeared to be a nasty cold.
"Please lower your voice, sweetheart. My head is throbbing," Celia replied weakly, her voice barely above a whisper.
"I couldn't care less about your headache!" Murphy snapped before storming out of the bedroom, her footsteps thundering down the hallway.
I was scrolling through the latest market reports on my phone when my daughter burst into the living room. Her face was contorted with rage as she dropped onto the sofa beside me with a dramatic huff.
"What's troubling you, princess?" I asked, setting my phone aside.
Murphy turned to me, her eyes glistening with unshed tears of frustration. "Daddy, Mom is being completely unreasonable."
"What's Celia done now?" I sighed, already anticipating another domestic crisis.
