Monica's POV
The elevator doors opened to the executive floor, and I barely had time to step out before Michelle grabbed my arm, practically dragging me toward the ladies' room.
"Spill everything! How was lunch with Colby?" Her eyes sparkled with curiosity.
I couldn't help but smile. "It was wonderful, Michelle. Really wonderful. But you'll have to wait until tonight's girls' gathering. I'd rather tell the story just once."
"You're going to make us die from anticipation!" She crossed her arms with a dramatic pout. "Fair warning though—Morris knows about your lunch date."
My heart skipped a beat. "How did he find out?"
"Colin told him. And..." she lowered her voice, "I overheard him telling Darren that he thinks it's better if you move on. He said he doesn't want you to suffer, and that Colby seems like a decent guy." She squeezed my arm gently. "But Monica, he looked absolutely devastated."
