Morris's POV
I pulled into my reserved spot in the corporate parking structure, my knuckles white against the steering wheel. The entire drive had been wrapped in a tense silence, with Monica casting curious glances my way every few minutes. After cutting the engine, I hurried around to open her door, then pulled her into a deep kiss before she could fully stand.
"I can't tell you how thrilled I am that you've decided to return to work with me," I murmured against her lips.
She responded with a smile and another kiss that made my heart race.
I'd instructed Darren to gather everyone in the executive reception area for Monica's homecoming announcement. Michelle had just completed the renovation project on Friday, and I was genuinely impressed with the results. She possessed an exceptional eye for design. I couldn't wait for Monica to see what we'd done with her space and hoped she'd appreciate the transformation.
