Monica's POV
The shopping bags felt heavy in my arms as Natalie and I made our way through the front door of my parents' house. We'd spent the morning browsing through local stores, catching up on lost time.
"Mom, Dad, we're back!" I called out, placing the bags on the kitchen counter.
Before I could even turn around, I heard the rapid patter of small feet racing across the hardwood floor. Austin's excited voice rang through the house.
"Morris! You came!"
My heart skipped a beat. That couldn't be right.
"Of course I came, little buddy. I was missing you so much!" Morris's unmistakable voice replied.
I spun around, nearly losing my balance. There they were – my son wrapped in Morris's strong arms, both wearing identical grins. My mom stood nearby with a delighted smile, while my dad's expression was a mixture of surprise and curiosity.
Beside me, Natalie was frozen in place, her mouth hanging open as Jasper approached her.
