Mito POV
It's been a while since I told Naruto about the fact of who our parents were and why the village hates us, since then he has been focused on increasing his chakra control and strengthening his body. All the training methods required for the best training and jutsu were taken out of our parents estate, which being under blood seals was something I was thankful for.
Now that Naruto had his focus shifted from me, I was able to put my attention on understanding and mastering the art of seals, and thanks to my Uzumaki gift in sealing arts and new enhanced brain with parallel processing powers that it granted me, I was able to understand and master the seals that, even by the Uzumaki standards would be considered good. Oh, and trust me when I say it, the records of Uzumaki standards for seals were brutal.
Apart from that the most noticeable thing that we did was fact that one evening during winter, when Naruto was out for a walk he met and saved Hinata, yup the canon event and the one that gave us, or more specifically Naruto a follower/admirer/stalker. This made me think if there is truly something as fate or some predestined events that are supposed to happen. Well, the heavy talk can be seen later when I am strong enough and if the chat group became something that will allow me to understand these things via other members.
Now, that it is the time for me and Naruto to start the academy, I cannot wait to see what kind of game will Hiruzen or Danzo will play for the time we are in the academy. Seeing Naruto excited about attending the academy, I can only smile wryly.
'Someone will definitely try to mess with us again. Both the old geezers have been rather silent lately, but I don't think the harassment will stop. I should probably talk with Naruto about this, so that he is not too disappointed and know how to act in front of everyone.'
After I explained everything to him, he looked quite depressed but bounced back saying that he did not care for the brainless sheep of the village. I totally agreed with him on that regard. So, we both started walking towards the academy.
The hatred and anger that the villagers radiated towards us was something Naruto was accustomed to by now and I never cared about the thoughts of these people, so it never affected me any ways.
We quickly approached the academy and as soon as we did so, the civilians started taking their children's away from us, however the clans and their members did nothing of that sort. As expected, those after some level of skill are not swayed by the baseless rumours, as being a shinobi is all about gathering information.
Looking at the way that people were looking at us with hatred, but were too afraid of doing anything, I had a nice idea for the prank, looking at Naruto and making my voice loud enough for everyone to listen I said,
"Hey Naruto, look these people are making a path for us. So nice of them." No matter what you say about Naruto, if you talk about a prank or a way to annoy someone, he is a genius. So, he answered quickly,
"You are right big sis; these people are so nice to make way for us unlike the other idiots that hate us without any reason." This naturally enhanced the animosity around us even further.
We walked towards the front of the crowd in front of a temporary looking pedestal. We waited for a while till the man for whom we all were made to wait came, none other than the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi. The excitement of all the children around us was pretty much understandable as for them he was someone who was most important figure in the village and being called 'God of shinobi' adds a different wait to him. Well, we all know who was originally known as the 'God of Shinobi' and besides Hiruzen is just someone hyped just for keeping the moral during the war, he just twisted that fact and made himself look someone who he is not.
I pretended to be listening with interest, but my mind was working parallelly to dissect all his words and that is when I found something confusing. He was actively trying to brainwash everyone listening to him, but at the same time he genuinely believed in the lines he was saying about 'the will of fire'.
'Ya, the village is like a big family that abandons the children of its hero who died saving it.'
After the Hokage finished his speech which took way too long, the new students were guided into their classes. Luckily for us, both of us were in the same class.
'Oh man, I had plans for them trying to separate us from one another during the academy. All wasted. '
[What? did you expect him to try and separate you both, even I could tell that would have never worked.]
'Kurama, you make it seem like we are lovers or something and besides it would have been fun to troll his attempts to separate us. '
[You might not be lovers, but you pair of siblings would have come with some kind of crazy prank that would make his days worse than they need to be.]
After everyone introduced themselves, except for us who were overlooked, the teacher took out tests to "gauge the knowledge level of the new students".
'So, the harassment starts. Who gives a test on the first day of the academy? Besides the smile on that man, makes me want to puke by the way he is looking at me.'
As soon as I had the test in my hand, I knew what was going on.
'A Genjutsu on top of the test, huh?'
I gave glanced at Naruto, it seems like he noticed it as well and was looking at me. We communicated with our eyes, and I pointed my finger to my head and made a face of an idiot. He seems to understand my sign and gave me a nod. We would just play it dumb. The more time we had to grow stronger the better - no need to blow the cover early.
After the test, we had to sit through a few more boring lessons until we could finally go home.
"Wow, the first day was super boring. Not to mention what did the first guy think by using such a weak genjutsu? Even I could see through it, and I really suck at that. Is that how our teachers are going to be towards us?" Naruto asked, sounding genuinely bored and frustrated.
"Sorry to be the bearer of facts, Naruto, but that is how most of the people are going to be towards us in the village. Not to say that there will be no one who will be interested in being nice towards us, like that little fan of yours who is following us."
Naruto blushed a little after my comment but managed to recover rather quickly. He seems to have already gotten used to being teased by me huh.
"Hey big-sis, when do you think she will know that we can sense her and know that she has been following us all this while? I mean does she not have anything else to do? She is the eldest daughter of Hyuga clan head."
"Why don't you meet her and ask yourself? Besides she is right behind the corner. Who knows you might get a new girlfriend as well." I responded teasing him.
Blushing more than last time, he yelled and tried to hit me, "Big sis!!!" Ha ha ha, it really is fun to tease him.
Running playfully and avoiding his attempts to hit me, we both made it seem so as we ran straight towards our apartment through a shortcut ally. Here we made shadow clones and using henge to disguise us we left after the ANBU following us followed our shadow clones to the apartment, where they will be distracted till we come back from training.
