Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Yuu and Shinichi Meet

"Sir, we've arrived." The taxi driver's voice pulled Yuu back from his memories. Looking at his old home, and then realizing he was now alone, Yuu felt a wave of sadness wash over him.

"Don't worry, Ran, I definitely won't forget to invite you to Tropical Land tomorrow!" Shinichi promised Ran over the phone. "Speak of the devil, and he appears!" Yuu had originally planned to secretly follow Shinichi after seeing his old home, as he couldn't meet Shinichi and the others yet; Yuu had a plan to complete. Watching Shinichi talk on the phone with Ran, Yuu felt as if he was back in the old days when they all went to school and played together. But now, they couldn't go back. Because the shadow of the Black Organization loomed over them. Only after the Black Organization was destroyed could they possibly return to how they used to be.

The next day, Tropical Land, at the rollercoaster.

"Shinichi, is your infamous title of 'Perennial Death God Grade-Schooler' starting from now?" Yuu watched as the rollercoaster Shinichi and Ran were on emerged from the tunnel. The man in the couple sitting behind them had no head, and blood gushed like a fountain from his neck.

After getting off the rollercoaster, Shinichi began his deduction. With Inspector Megure's assistance, Shinichi had everyone who was on that rollercoaster stay for investigation. "You were hard to find, Gin!!" Yuu spotted Gin in his black suit and his subordinate Vodka among the remaining crowd. Seeing that Shinichi had already identified the culprit, Yuu knew he should leave. He needed to find the man who was about to make a deal with Gin and Vodka. This man was carrying an aluminum case and, being nervous about a clandestine transaction with the Organization, would be easy to spot.

"Hmm, you're so conspicuous, it's impossible not to notice you!" Yuu easily found the man. After all, this guy didn't know how to hide himself at all. You're here for a secret transaction, so what's the deal with carrying a case and looking around everywhere? Seeing the man walk into an alley, Yuu tightened his trench coat and quickly followed.

On the other side, Shinichi had already figured out who the culprit was based on his deductions.

"Only by killing him can I quell the hatred in my heart! How dare he abandon me! I can't accept this!!" As Shinichi continuously pointed out the evidence, Hitomi, the victim Kishida's ex-girlfriend, burst into tears.

After Hitomi was taken away by Inspector Megure and the others, Ran walked and cried, "Wuwuwu..." After all, it was Ran's first time witnessing such an explosive scene firsthand—a headless male corpse, covered in blood, lying right in front of her. Shinichi, seeing this, couldn't help but comfort Ran, "Alright! Stop crying... you'll get used to this kind of thing."

"How can you be so nonchalant, you—idiot!!" Ran shouted loudly. She was unhappy with Shinichi's attitude; she was so scared. "Uh, then forget about it. I've just seen it too many times," Shinichi quickly tried to salvage the situation. "I don't encounter such things as often as you do!!" Ran was getting angry, her voice even louder than before.

"Uh..." Shinichi was about to speak, but his eye caught sight of Vodka sneaking into an alley. "Isn't that the suspicious man who was on the same rollercoaster as us earlier?" Thinking this, Shinichi felt an urge to investigate, so he said to Ran, "Sorry, Ran, I have something to do. You go back by yourself! I'll be right there!" With that, Shinichi ran towards the alley where Vodka had disappeared.

"Huh, Shi... Shinichi..." Ran stared blankly at Shinichi's retreating back. For some reason, she felt that Shinichi would never return from this trip, and this feeling made Ran very uneasy.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, President!" Vodka slowly emerged from the alley. Seeing it was Vodka, the suspicious man whom Yuu had been following breathed a sigh of relief. He quickly pulled out a case, opened it, and said to Vodka, "I brought the money as agreed. Where's the item?"

"Don't rush, President Ōtori," Vodka took the case, checked it to ensure there were no problems, then tossed him an SD memory card. "Here, this is the evidence of your company's gun smuggling. Don't do too many bad things!" "You have no right to tell me that!!! Your Organization is worse than me..." President Ōtori retorted unwillingly.

"Oh, the pot calling the kettle black." Shinichi was hiding nearby, secretly filming the entire transaction with his phone. Because Shinichi was so focused on secretly observing the transaction, he didn't notice anyone approaching from behind him. "Little detective, this is the end!!" Gin swung a baseball bat fiercely at the back of Shinichi's head. Shinichi didn't have time to react and was slammed to the ground.

"B-Boss..." Vodka was somewhat confused to see Gin suddenly appear and knock someone down. President Ōtori took this opportunity to escape. Gin explained to Vodka, "He saw everything that just happened..." "Should we finish him off?" Vodka suggested to Gin. "No! We just escaped the murder mystery at the amusement park!" Gin immediately rejected Vodka's idea.

Gin took out a capsule from a small box and said to Vodka, "Use this, the Organization's newly developed poison. The body won't show any trace of poison in a forensic analysis, but this drug hasn't undergone human trials yet; it seems to be an experimental product..." Saying that, Gin fed the poison to Shinichi, making him swallow it. "Bye-bye! Great detective!!" Gin took one last look at Shinichi, then turned and disappeared into the darkness with Vodka, fleeing the scene.

Shortly after they left, Yuu appeared by Shinichi's side. Looking at Shinichi, who was in agony after taking the poison, Yuu couldn't help but murmur, "Shinichi, don't blame me for not saving you. This is all to destroy the Black Organization!" After calling the police for Shinichi, Yuu also followed the direction Gin and the others had left.

Three months later, at Professor Agasa's doorstep.

Looking at his current appearance, Yuu couldn't help but mock himself, "As the saying goes, if you walk too much at night, you'll eventually encounter ghosts. I also got poisoned and shrunk, just like Shinichi."

"Little one, who are you looking for?" Professor Agasa and Conan came out and saw a child sitting by the door, asking curiously. Yuu saw two familiar faces, felt a little touched, and smiled, saying, "Of course I'm looking for you, Shinichi! Professor!" Conan and the Professor looked at Yuu in shock. They hadn't expected a child to know Shinichi's secret of shrinking.
