Chapter 65 - Chapter 64

[Note is a small chapter. This is the medical report for each day Max is at Site-17. Only a small part is his POV.]

THIRD POV.

Day 1.

Psych. Evaluation documented by Dr. Selene.

Time of session: 60 minutes

Subject SCP-8937 entered counseling office, under escort of MTF. Subject was alert and oriented. Subject was dressed in standard contained humanoid clothing. Subject was cooperative during interview. Subject denied having any thoughts of wanting to hurt personnel staff. Subject denied seeing or hearing anything that couldn't normally be seen. Subject stated that he is willing to be cooperative with Foundation mission as long as his friends are 'okay' and or 'fine'. Patient denied further clarification when asked about his time at the hospital, or the comments subject stated during his time at the inpatient psych. Ward.

Day 1

Biological research and development By Dr. Cross.

SCP-8937's blood contains numerous nanoscopic symbiotic organisms resembling worms. These organisms have been observed repairing cellular damage and appear to inhibit both cellular aging (senescence) and programmed cell death (apoptosis). Genetic analysis of SCP-8937's DNA is ongoing. Approval is requested to conduct cross-specimen transfusion trials using additional blood samples in order to test the hypothesis that the symbiotic organisms remain active and functional when introduced to non-SCP-8937 hosts.

 Day 2.

Psych. Evaluation documented by Dr. Selene.

Time of session: 60 minutes

Subject SCP-8937 entered counseling office, under escort of MTF. Subject was alert and oriented. Subject was dressed in standard contained humanoid clothing. Subject was somewhat cooperative during interview. Subject stated that he could feel himself being watched by security camera personnel. Subject reported that if he continued feeling this way, he would make them stop himself. Subject also reported that the food tasted strange, and that he hopes the Foundation didn't "do anything creepy with it". Reports from surveillance team stated that they were not watching SCP-8937 has intensely as been reported. Kitchen staff reported that the food had not been tempered with, and that it was cooked normally.

Day 2

Biological research and development By Dr. Cross.

The worms present in SCP-8937's bloodstream function similar to viral agents, but instead of harming host cells, they enhance SCP-8937 biological performance. Observed effects include repairing damaged DNA, increasing cellular metabolic efficiency, and optimizing other key biological functions. When introduced to non-SCP-8937 cellular material, the worms assimilate the foreign cells and incorporate their biological traits into SCP-8937's own cellular biology. Experimental results show that the worms completely overwrite foreign cellular structure, reprogramming them to match SCP-8937's unique cellular profile — a process functionally similar to viral genomic rewriting. These findings support the hypothesis that exposure to new biological material may induce adaptive evolution in SCP-8937 at a cellular level.

Day 3

Psych. Evaluation documented by Dr. Selene.

Time of session: 40 minutes

Subject SCP-8937 entered counseling office, under escort of MTF. Subject was alert and oriented. Subject was dressed in standard contained humanoid clothing. Subject was somewhat cooperative, but noticeably irritated during interview. Subject stated that feeling of being watched was making him upset. Subject reported that he was unable to eat the food, due to the taste. Subject complained that he thought he saw blurry outlines, did not clarify further.

Day 3

Biological research and development By Dr. Cross.

Blood samples from SCP-8937 were injected into D-class personnel under controlled conditions. Within 13 minutes post-injection, the subject underwent rapid and extensive morphological changes, ceasing to appear anatomically human. Following transformation, the subject displayed extreme aggression toward Site-17 staff and repeatedly attempted to breach containment protocols in order to reach the eastern wing, where SCP-8937 is housed. All attempts at verbal communication with the subject were unsuccessful. It is hypothesized that the symbiotic organisms present in SCP-8937's blood maintain a connection to SCP-8937 even when physically separated. Further testing to determine whether SCP-8937 can consciously influence these organisms is scheduled for immediate initiation.

Day 4

Psych. Evaluation documented by Dr. Selene.

Time of session: 30 minutes

Subject presented to office, highly irritated making comments about personnel and why he was here. Subject stated that he was hungry, and that nothing tasted good. Subject seemed distress about this. Subject stated that he was starting to hear whispers, and that he was being followed by D-class personnel. These D-class personnel have been identified as D-98720, and D-84103. It should be noted that both D-class have expired due to on site testing. Subject stated that the hunger was a constant bothered to him.

Day 4

Biological research and development By Dr. Cross.

SCP-8937 initially expressed reluctance to participate in experimentation but complied after being reminded of the contract under review. When SCP-8937 indicated approval of D-class personnel, subjects injected with SCP-8937's blood exhibited no harmful effects. In fact these D-class personnel showed improvement in overall biological function. Approximately 25% more than what they would normally show. These D-class personnel also stated that they felt a lot better and had improved mood. D-class personnel with genetic condition showed signs of improvement in their condition. These approved D-class also showed signs of wanting to be close to SCP-8937, stating that they needed to be by it. No mutation or any other features noted in these individuals. In contrast, subjects whom SCP-8937 expressed disfavor toward experienced rapid-onset mutations, followed by death within minutes.

These findings suggest that SCP-8937 exercises conscious control over the anomalous organisms in its blood, determining their effect on external hosts.

Day 5

Psych. Evaluation documented by Dr. Selene.

Time of session: 20 minutes

Subject appeared disheveled, and not cooperative. Guards were needed to be present during counselling session for protection. Subject rapidly said that he was not able to sleep due to hunger and increased sounds of whispers and voices. Subject complained of seeing shadows around the room. These shadows were not able to be identified by subject.

Day 5

Biological research and development By Dr. Cross.

No additional trials could be conducted during this session due to the behavior of the D-class personnel injected with SCP-8937's blood. The subject exhibited significantly enhanced physical strength and heightened cognitive function. The D-class repeatedly vocalized a compulsion to "be with" SCP-8937 and to "become a part of him." Subject engaged in extreme self-mutilation, tearing off portions of flesh and attempting to breach containment in order to deliver the material to SCP-8937. Security personnel successfully intervened, preventing D-class from leaving their respective holding cell. The behavior displayed strong parallels to ritualistic or cult-like worship, suggesting potential cognitohazardous influence. All further injections of D-class personnel with SCP-8937's blood have been suspended pending psychological risk assessment and review by Site-17 Ethics Committee.

Day 6

Psych. Evaluation documented by Dr. Selene.

Time of session: 14 minutes

Subject physically assault security personnel when asked to sit down. Subject also physically attacked Dr.Selene. Subject only did minor harm and profusely apologized after assault. Subject constant reported that hunger was unbearable, and that there was a hole in his stomach. Subject reported that voices were louder, and more clear with statements being 'hungry' 'feed' as well as sounds and cries for help. Subject didn't know who was talking to him. Session terminated early due to ineffective communication with subject.

Day 6

Biological research and development By Dr. Cross.

The Theological Research Division — responsible for analysis of anomalous phenomena with theological, ritualistic, and thaumaturgic properties — has completed its assessment of SCP-8937's blood. Samples produced readings consistent with a Class-III ritualistic anomaly, with several indicators typically associated with active thaumaturgic constructs. Direct exposure to blood samples is strongly discouraged under current containment guidelines. Personnel assigned to Dr. Cross's research team have reported recurring nightmares, intrusive thoughts, and escalating compulsions. Multiple staff have admitted to experiencing a persistent desire to consume SCP-8937's blood despite full knowledge of the consequences of such action. Effective immediately, all experimental use of SCP-8937's biological material is suspended. Research priority is to be redirected toward developing countermeasures and protective wards against possible thaumaturgic or cognitohazardous effects stemming from exposure.

Day 7

6:21 am=Observation shows SCP-8937 on bed, with constant sporadic movement. SCP-8937 is noted to be speaking in unknown language, with looks of distress. Camera feed goes out at this time.

--------------------MC POV--------------------------------

I curled up on my bed, I couldn't do anything else. The moment I thought about the voices they came back.

'hunger'

'hungry'

'eat'

'save us'

'help'

'please'

'Mommy…papa…I am scared'

'help'

'feed us'

"SHUT UP!" it didn't help they just got louder, and more clear.

"SHUT THE FUCK UP!"

The shadows figures in the room came closer to me, and I could feel something staring at me. I felt like my stomach was eating itself, the food tasted like shit. Nothing worked. Then it happened.

A smell that I thought would never be possible. It smelled like my mom`s cooking, that smell of home. I could taste it, already in my mouth. The door didn't stop me, the guards were nothing but a small inconvenience. There I saw what smelled so delicious. It was a human figure hiding. I couldn't see well, the only thing I that mattered was that I was hungry and needed to eat.
