Oliver Rothschild followed by a multitude of horses ornamented with gems of different colours that shone in the sunlight, strode on his comparably larger and muscular horse with a fiery gaze and oppressive aura.
The maids lined opposite sides of the lush courtyard with their heads bowed and the knights followed suit clad in shining armor with the Rothschild family emblem engraved on the chest plate of their armor with their swords high in the air.
It was a grand welcome.
You'll probably be wondering where I was during all this.
Well Miriam in her infinite kindness decided to place me right at the side of the entrance to the mansion– the most conspicuous place anyone could be.
And when I asked why?
"I'm sure my brother would love to see his favorite robe worn by someone as handsome as you" she said.
HOW THE FUCK DOES THAT MAKE SENSE??!!
And the response I got when I pleased desperately you ask?
"Do you question the decision of the last daughter of the Rothschild house and your employer?"
As I was reminded of my place with a cold and condescending voice, I had another reason to get stronger....if I don't die today that is.
Anyways, as I stood closest to the Rothschild family standing with small smiles on their faces as they welcomed Oliver, I tried my best to avoid his gaze and the rest of the family's.
Did I succeed?
Of course not.
I was only met with a glance by the side of the eyes of Oliver as he entered the mansion.
Did I think I would die at that moment?
Heck yes!
His eyes were cold, devoid of emotions, it was like I was staring into the abyss of the most deepest darkest pit of hell.
It was that scary.
I made a mental note to find the nearest church and give my offerings to the god they serve.
"Welcome back son"
The father of Oliver and the patriarch of the Rothschild family welcomed Oliver with a neutral expression but I could see the glimmer of joy in his eyes moreso Oliver as he bowed slightly in response.
"Welcome back eldest brother"
Ava nodded with a smile as she welcomed Oliver and he returned the gesture the same way.
"Big bro!"
Miriam.....my sweet sweet Miriam was obviously not going to follow the official greeting pattern of the royals as she jumped and hugged Oliver like a koala.
And his reaction?
A complete 180-degree change from his usual calm and composed self.
Yes, he was a sister-con.
A fact that scared me to no end knowing the weird relationship between his sister and I.
"My bwaby sister bwig bwuddar missshed you soo mussh"
Oliver with a blush on his cheeks said as he rubbed his cheek with Miriam's.
"I misshed you too bwig bwuddar"
And of course Miriam was reciprocating the gesture two fold as she rubbed her cheeks with his.
The family looked like they were used to their antics and showed no particular reaction except from sending away the maids and knights.
I obviously tried using this chance to escape and save my life, but as if the universe was giving me the middle finger, just as I was about to cross the door I heard a cold voice that sent shivers down my spine.
"You. Stay."
I halted my footsteps and turned my head almost robotically as I cold sweat ran down my neck.
"Yes young master"
I answered with a slightly trembling voice as I bowed my head.
"Big bro don't scare him like that."
Miriam complained with a pout as she lightly hit Oliver's arms.
'Miriam don't make things difficult for me!!!'
"Who is this man and why is he wearing a robe that is awfully similar to mine."
Oliver asked Miriam with a gentle tone but I could sense the underlying threat in his voice as I kept my head down.
"Tha-"
"That's Miriam's new boy toy"
Ava interrupted Miriam and answered instead.
"He's not a boy toy!"
"Hm? But that's what you told me when we met yesterday"
"That was then, this is now!"
As I heard the two sisters arguing, I was figuring out what I would say to save my life.
'Laura'
In a desperate attempt to save my life, I called the only person I could in this situation.
And the response?
"Don't call me, this is your problem hahaha"
Flat denial.
"Hmm so a mere sex slave dares to wear a robe that has been to countless battles and slain countless enemies"
Oliver with a low voice mumbled interrupting the petty argument going on between the two sisters and as the silence descended, I could see my life flashing before my eyes.
'I can't die yet.....not like this..'
I thought as I could feel cold sweat running down my back,my heart pounding irregularly and quickly in my chest.
'Fuck!'
But before I could completely break down, the one responsible for my predicament stepped forward to save my neck as she stood in front of her brother.
"W-wait big bro! Don't do anything to him!"
Miriam shouted as she spread her arms Infront of me.
A slight gasp escaped from my mouth at the unexpected gesture, meanwhile I could see the eyes of her parents widen ever so slightly and who could blame them?
Their beloved daughter going against her favorite sibling over a sex slave?
How ridiculous does that sound?
Honestly, I was expecting them to say something but other than sipping their tea and closing their eyes, there was no other reaction from them.
"I gave him the clothes but he didn't want them and explained why it would be a bad idea but I didn't listen and forced him to wear it anyway.....it's my fault..."
Laura continued as she bowed her head in embarrassment as she thought things through and realized how bad of an idea it was.
"Hmmm....it's fine"
Oliver being the sis-con he was forgave her with a pat on the head and a silly smile on his face.
I on the other hand was met with the inspecting gazes not just from Ava but from their father and mother as well albeit covertly.
'I won't survive a week if things go on like this, I need to somehow change the view they have on me'.
I thought as my head was still bowed, honestly I think I might have thrown my back out with how long I had been in this position but that didn't matter, my life was at stake here, one slip up and even Miriam wouldn't be able to save me.
"But this boy on the other hand would have to defend the honor of wearing this robe."
The universe being a dick that it was, gave me a solution to my problems.
Did I like the solution?
What do you think genius!?
Of course not!
Did I have a choice?
Unfortunately I do not.
With a sigh I prepared to accept my fate as I attempted to raise my head and give a response, but I was interrupted once more by ava.
"He is too weak to fight anybody worth our interest, why don't we wait till he becomes an E rank then we could host the tournament by then, two birds one stone no?"
As ava shared her plan with Oliver and their parents, I was confused on one part of her statement.
Tournament?
What tournament?
And why am I suddenly expected to participate in it?!
Okay I knew the answer to the last part but I still didn't know what the tournament was about.
"I presume you do not know about the tournament we speak of yes?"
I nodded in response to Ava's questioning but quickly answered to show my respect.
"Forgive my ignorance my lady"
'Nailed it!'
I guess all those historical dramas I watched back on earth weren't for naught after all.
"Hm very well, you shall have the honor of hearing of it from the first daughter of the Rothschild house herself so listen well"
Ava said as she crossed her legs and her parents bored of the whole ordeal decided to reitire to their rooms alongside Oliver.
So I was left with Ava and Miriam once again.
'This is going to be a long day'
I thought as I kneeled on both knees as I prepared to listen to the lecture from the mouth of the first daughter of the Rothschild house.
