I picked Tactician after three sleepless nights arguing with myself and one moment where I nearly settled for "Unarmed Herbalist" out of delirium.

The system had offered me generic combat classes like Warrior, Rogue, even a weird one called Meat Monk (???) — but something about Tactician felt right.

It didn't just use strength or flash.

It used strategy.

Planning. Precision. Prediction.

Basically everything I didn't do in my last life.

And that's why I picked it.

The forest parted behind me as I stepped out onto cobbled academy paths, clothes freshly looted from a bandit I may or may not have cried on after stabbing.

Waiting for me — like a curse that refused to die — was Instructor Gareth Thorn, arms crossed, beard still a war crime.

"You're alive," he grunted.

"Fortunately," I replied.

He scanned me up and down like a disappointed gym coach who once believed in me but now doesn't even remember why.

"You look… different."

"Is it the new class?"

"No. It's the smell. Go bathe before someone writes a complaint."

Back inside Elandris Adventuring Academy, the air smelled like greenery and flowers and i smelled like air pollution. Students whispered as I passed:

"Is that the naked forest guy?"

"Didn't he get suspended for public indecency?"

"I heard he tamed a giant squirrel!"

I finally made it back to Dorm C, climbed the familiar creaky stairs, and stood before my door: Room C-17.

I knocked once out of habit.

Checking if my roommate was inside .

He was a bespectacled kid named feiard, who didn't talk much.

I wouldn't call him a friend, but he is one of the only people in the academy i even talked to.

Not hearing a response, i opened the door using my key and then i stepped inside the room.

The room looked clean,my side looked cleaner than i usually kept it.

Feiard needed some thanks.

I plopped down the bag and jumped onto the bed, the soft mattress engulfed me.

My daily life consisted of me going to classes,

Coming back feeling tired,

Lazing around and reading novels and leaving all of my class work for the tomorrow that never comes.

The neverending bout of sadness I felt from

Time to time didn't help either.

Almost as if we were the same person, the me from my previous life and reynald from now.

I needed to change it, i needed to do better.

Maybe in this life i may even make a few friends and even get a girlfriend.

My day ended with daydreaming.
