Chapter 5 - Chaos & Brains

✧ෆ♡

Kinova followed Ava through the stairs then the corridor.

📚 : Class 9 clover

Ava pushed open the door. Chairs were tilted, desks scattered, a broom hung from the ceiling fan (somehow spinning), and four boys lounged around like it was their personal basecamp.

"Okay this was not supposed to be your first impression of our class.." Ava said.

The first boy near the window barely glanced over. His brown hair was messy but still kind of neat, and his gaze was colder than snow flakes.

"That's Aiden," Ava whispered. "Don't take it personal. He hates girls."

"Not all of them," Aiden said without turning. "Just the ones that talk."

"Ouch." Kinova muttered.

A boy hanging upside-down off the desk next to him laughed. His curly black-brown hair flopped into his eyes, and he had the biggest smile Kinova had seen all day.

"That's Waylin," Ava said, sighing. "He embarrasses himself."

"Good one Ava, ooh and hiii" Waylin waved from his upside-down position. "Your voice is kinda hot. Just saying."

Ava replied for Kinova "Shut it you whale."

Another boy sittiing — curtain bangs dyed black with electric blue streaks falling just over his eyes.

"Manny," Ava said. "He doesn't talk much, but his poems do."

Manny sat backwards on a chair like some misunderstood heartthrob from a coming-of-age movie.

Finally, the last boy with messy brown hair.

"Colin," he said, sticking out his hand. "I have 5 bikes in my garage."

Kinova shook it, laughing. "Thanks… for the random fun fact."

Ava checked the time. "C'mon. If we stay too long, Waylin's gonna start flirting with the walls again."

Waylin grinned. "They flirt back."

🧃 : Cafeteria

The cafeteria was a spellbound forest of glittering trays, fun pink sofa type of chairs and a big cute heart shaped window at da sides.

At one corner table sat two girls.

The first had braided, curly brown hair, gold eyes full of trouble.

"Ruby," Ava Introduced. "She's smart and chaotic one of our group."

Ruby looked up "Avaaaa and New girl, hey!"

Next to her sat a girl in a sleek purple hijab, flipping through an enchanted textbook. She was calm with an elegant energy.

"That's Ranese," Ava smiled. "May seem quiet but she does get chaotic once a while."

Ranese looked up and gave Kinova a warm smile. "Welcome, I didn't catch your name?"

"It's Kinova."

"Beautiful."

Kinova sat down beside them, for once not feeling awkward. Just… curious. These girls didn't feel like strangers. They felt like options — people she could maybe, just maybe, belong with.

RINGGGG

Ava got up. "Alrighty, first day has ended, imma see you guys tomorrow."

They all waves and went out of the gate to their rides. One driver called out to Kinova and she sat with him.

"Good afternoon miss Kinova, I am going to drop you off at your house. Hope you have a good stay."

They drove off
