Yu Tan emerged from the shower wrapped in a towel and realized he didn't have any fresh clothes to change into.
He had always been a neat person, and couldn't bear to appear disheveled in front of others. He was waiting for A-Jiu to bring him something from the old mansion, but there was still some time to kill.
His mood was slightly impatient, especially when he thought about the fact that the little fool was talking to other people in the living room, making his face even darker.
This bad mood disappeared, though, when he saw the message from Shi Jingyang.
Then, Hu Xiaoyu saw Yu Tan appear, a towel wrapped around his waist.
The fox clan was known for their beauty, and they also appreciated beautiful things—handsome people and good bodies were no exception.
Coincidentally, Yu Tan had a handsome face, complemented perfectly by his well-toned physique.
The living room, which had been relatively quiet, immediately became more lively with his presence.
Of course, this was how others perceived the atmosphere.
Hu Xiaoyu, however, had suppressed his concern for Yu Tan. He had decided not to repay him with affection, and though he did glance at Yu Tan's physique, there was no lingering or romantic thought in his mind—perhaps even less than one-tenth of such thoughts.
He even frowned slightly.
The two men Hu Xiaoyu had seen at the Yu family mansion, both shirtless, looked just like Yu Tan now.
The two sat across from each other on the sofa, separated by a coffee table.
Neither spoke.
Hu Xiaoyu thought there was nothing to say. Yu Tan had only just gotten angry, and he couldn't lower his face to speak yet.
The silence was broken by the delivery of takeout.
Hu Xiaoyu neatly placed the porridge, small snacks, and side dishes, putting the chopsticks and spoon in front of Yu Tan. "Eat breakfast," he said.
As a demon, he could easily sense that Yu Tan was both exhausted and hungry.
His spiritual energy had finally helped sustain his body until now, and during this period of repayment, Hu Xiaoyu made sure to take good care of it.
Yu Tan's eyes softened slightly, and he gave a faint "hm" in acknowledgment.
He was lost in Hu Xiaoyu's long-awaited obedient behavior. After a moment, he realized that the breakfast seemed to be just enough for one person.
Even though they were apart now, their long-standing understanding still remained.
Hu Xiaoyu noticed that Yu Tan was holding the chopsticks but wasn't eating, so he explained, "I'm not hungry. You eat."
A glimmer of amusement appeared in Yu Tan's eyes, but he didn't urge Hu Xiaoyu further.
The food outside wasn't great, and this little fool was always picky about his food. He had probably been eating poorly and sleeping badly recently.
Yu Tan, having stayed up all night, was starving. He thought about forcing himself to eat a little to regain some strength before taking Hu Xiaoyu back home. Once home, he would have the kitchen prepare fresh, delicious food for him.
At this point, Yu Tan still didn't think that he and Hu Xiaoyu had truly separated.
It was just that this time, the argument had been intense. They had been stubborn for over ten days. They had fought before, but a little coaxing would have resolved things.
Of course, he needed to reflect on his actions, especially the way he had made Hu Xiaoyu angry. He would never do it that way again.
As for the painting and the origin of the jade, he had plenty of time to investigate later.
This time, he had been too impatient. He won't be so reckless in the future.
Yu Tan couldn't help himself and reached out to pinch Hu Xiaoyu's chubby cheek.
He wasn't fat, but there was just enough softness in his face to make him irresistibly cute. It was simply adorable, and Yu Tan wanted to pinch it because it made his heart melt.
But the next moment, Hu Xiaoyu slapped his hand away without mercy.
Hu Xiaoyu leaned back with a look of disdain. "You... eat your breakfast properly."
Once you're done, just go back.
The studio is mine. I don't take in outsiders.
Yu Tan's hand stung from the slap, and an uneasy feeling crept into his heart.
He took a deep breath to calm himself, but his brows remained tightly furrowed, almost like he was dealing with a mischievous child. He warned, with both irritation and coaxing, "Still causing trouble... go pack your things. Hong Bo really misses you."
He added silently in his mind: I miss you too.
Since you weren't home last night, I woke up multiple times and could only sleep holding the pillow you used.
Hu Xiaoyu was slightly confused, "Pack my things?"
He felt... Yu Tan must have misunderstood something.
