Chapter 5 - Squad Members

Ding. The One-Click Kage System is at your service!

Every time Jun heard that name, "One-Click Kage," the corner of his eye twitched.

But now wasn't the time to get annoyed—he had questions.

"System-bro, how long exactly is a temporary auto-training session?"

He'd blacked out during the last one, so he had no idea how long it had gone on.

Ding. Any training session under a full day is classified as temporary training.

The system added, The host's physical condition is evaluated every two hours to determine whether to continue.

Ah. So it's designed to stop him from straight-up dying.

Jun rolled his eyes.

So even if he was barely clinging to life, one session would at minimum last two hours.

He shrugged. His shoulders still ached.

But honestly? He felt stronger than ever.

He knew his own body. Sure, years of casual taijutsu training with Might Guy gave him slightly better physical ability than the average Genin…

But not this good.

Last night, he'd been playing a handstand sprint game with Guy for who knows how many laps.

He opened his system panel, just to confirm.

[Name: Uchiha Jun]

[Age: 11]

[Rank: Genin / Uchiha Clan]

[Ninja ID: 010250]

[Chakra Nature: Fire, Water, Wind, Yin]

[Skills: ▽ (Collapsed)]

[Kekkei Genkai: Sharingan (Inactive)]

[Combat Power: Genin]

Whoa, whoa—hold on!

Before, it had read "Below Genin." Now it was a clean Genin rating?

All that from two hours of training?!

Sure, his body was still sore, but underneath it—strength. A tight, thrumming energy in his muscles.

Jun opened the collapsed skill section.

[Taijutsu: Eight Gates (Second Gate: Rest Gate – 1%)]

Shit… I really advanced?!

He remembered—last time he checked, it was still:

[Eight Gates (First Gate: Open – 97%)]

He'd been on the verge of reaching the second gate, but at his lazy pace, that would've taken another two months easy.

But after one session?

Strong. Insanely strong. Unbelievably strong.

Thinking back to how he'd bodied Uchiha Tekka the night before, Jun frowned.

"System-bro, how the hell were you controlling my body so well?"

Ding. Auto-training and One-Click Delegation optimize the use of your physical potential, allowing you peace of mind as you grow stronger!

Here it was again—that sketchy health supplement salesman tone.

From what Jun could tell, the system was like handing your character to a pro gamer while you slept.

He shook his head and stared back at the glowing interface, a strange satisfaction swelling in his chest.

Yeah, the training had been humiliating…

But that power surge?

Addictive.

Too bad he couldn't train again just yet.

Glancing out the window, Jun sighed, pushed past the soreness, got dressed, washed up, and headed out.

No matter what, yesterday's forehead protector ceremony meant he had officially left the Academy behind.

Today was the scheduled meeting with his jōnin instructor.

In wartime, things moved differently.

There were no tests to determine team compatibility. No "Bell Test." No "catch the cat" D-rank babysitting missions.

Straight to combat.

At best, C-rank assignments.

At worst, the battlefield.

Training Field 27, Konoha

When Jun arrived at the designated location, the scene he stumbled into looked like a street brawl.

A girl with a dango stick in her mouth was stomping on a boy's back, muttering curses.

The boy didn't even look mad. He was flat on the ground, palms pressed together, grinning and pleading for mercy.

Jun stopped a few feet away, brows twitching.

"…You two are?"

The girl turned her head and spotted him. She let up on the beating and stepped off her victim.

The boy got to his feet, still smiling with squinted eyes. "Looks like you're our third, huh? Training Field 27. That makes us teammates."

"…"

Jun opened his mouth, but words didn't come.

What kind of squad is this? Snake Pit Division?

Now that he looked closer, he recognized them.

The girl was Mitarashi Anko. The boy… Mizuki.

And the one thing they had in common?

In the future, both would end up as subordinates to Orochimaru—each cursed with his Cursed Seal.

Just great.

Anko blinked and pointed. "Wait—you're that guy? Ugh, seriously? Not one normal teammate…"

She slapped her palm against her face. "I asked for early graduation because I wanted to fight in the war. Instead, I get teamed up with a fake-smile creep and the Academy's biggest dumbass!"

Mizuki's grin stiffened. "Now now, let's not be rude. Jun's from the Uchiha—Konoha's most prestigious clan."

"Pah!" Anko spat out her dango and stomped toward him. "You don't get to call people that casually, Mizuki. Use full names, you snake."

Jun let out a long breath, resisting the urge to chuck his sandal at Mizuki's smug face.

Something about that smile made his foot itch.

Then—

"Enough, you brats!"

A sharp voice cut through the air as a lithe figure landed atop a wooden post, looming over them like a storm cloud.

Jun looked up.

Same height as him. But her presence? Immense.

Spiky hair, red inverted triangle markings on her cheeks, fierce eyes. A woman with the aura of a predator.

She kicked Mizuki aside with practiced precision.

Mizuki coughed, stood up, and still managed a polite tone. "You must be our jōnin instructor? I'm Mizuki, loyal shinobi of the Leaf."

He gestured toward the others. "This is Uchiha Jun—genius of the Uchiha—and Mitarashi Anko, the prodigy girl who graduated at just seven with a perfect record."

Genius? Jun clenched his fists. You little bastard… that was sarcasm, wasn't it?

"Shut it, runt," the woman snapped.

"I'm not your teacher. Wartime doesn't give us that luxury. I'm a temporary squad leader, here to drag your sorry asses through missions."

She paused, then added in a gravelly tone, "Name's Inuzuka Tsume. Chūnin. I'll be your handler for the foreseeable future."

Her gaze drifted to Jun, eyes sharp, vaguely amused.

So that's him… the disgrace of the Uchiha.

Jun felt her eyes on him and, thinking she wanted him to start, stepped forward.

"Um… abilities… just taijutsu."

He scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "And my goal is… to become Hokage."
