Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

After cleaning up, Rayden made his way to the dining room.

Sitting down next to his grandfather, he watched his mom and dad cook while a protocol droid set the table.

Torin: What did you think of today's test, boy?

Rayden: It was challenging but fun as well. It sucks that I couldn't complete the course in under five minutes, but I know I'll get there.

Torin: That's the spirit, boy. You did well not panicking after getting hit. That will help you immensely when you grow up.

As Elyse and Varn walked to the table with the food, Elyse agreed with Torin. " Thats right son there is no need to be too upset at not passing the first time, everyone starts somewhere. You just have to work on improving yourself each day."

Rayden: I will, Mom

Varn: Let's eat, everyone.

As everyone was enjoying the meal, Varn and Elyse nodded in agreement with each other, ready to start talking with Rayden about his new training.

Varn: Rayden, your mom and I talked about your new training schedule after watching your test today. But first, you should know it won't just be warrior training like everyone else in the clan.

Rayden: Why is that? Is there something else I need to train in?

Elyse: Yes, son, the Force

Rayden's heart leaped when he heard what his mother said. 'The Force? I have the Force; that's awesome. In his mind, Rayden was jumping for joy.

Elyse: Do you know what the Force is, son

Rayden: That is the ability the Jedi have, right? If I have the Force, will I have to train with the Jedi?

Varn and Torin: That's not happening

Elyse gave them a side glance, then turned to her son. "No, you will not train with the Jedi cause I will train you."

'Huh, Mom will train me. Wait, that means' with a stunned face, Rayden looked at his mother.

Yes, it's precisely what you are thinking, son. I am a Jedi.

"You are!" Rayden jumped from his seat, both excited and curious about how he was a Jedi when they should all be in the temple on Courasant and not having any attachments.

Rayden: Don't Jedi and Mandalorians hate each other?

Torin: For the most part, yes, but that was in the past, or certain people.

Varn then delved into the history of the conflict between the Jedi and the Mandalorians of old, and how there is some friction nowadays, but not an exclusive focus on past animosity.

Elyse went on to explain that she is a Jedi Sentinel. Sentinels are Jedi who live out in the galaxy to help ordinary people while learning other skills beyond the Force, such as investigation, stealth, security, demolitions, mechanics, and other everyday skills to blend in with the population. That doesn't mean they neglect the Force or their lightsaber training; they balance it with everything else.

Rayden sat quietly listening to his parents talk about their history and how they met. His mother grew up in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant but was born on Alderan. When she was training with her master and experiencing the galaxy, she noticed the problems with the Jedi's current dogmatic views.

After becoming a knight, she decided to become a sentinel to spend more time away from the temple. On a mission to track slave traders, she met Torin as he was hunting the same trader that had a bounty on his head. They teamed up to dismantle his entire operation, grew to appreciate each other, and worked well together as a team. Two years after teaming up, they were married, and a few months later, found out Elyse was pregnant.

Varn: Ok, that's enough story time, this old man needs his rest. Thank you, Elyse, for the delicious meal as always.

Varn walked past Rayden, patting his head while saying goodnight on his way to his room.

Elyse: You had a busy day, dear. Go rest, we will talk more tomorrow and start your training.

Torin: Get some rest, son, you will be busy with all your training in the near future.

"Good night," Rayden said as he started walking to his room, still processing everything he just learned. Once inside, he lay down on his soft bed, letting his mind wander.

How crazy life can be! One moment, I'm just a regular guy going to work, coming home, playing video games, eating, and so on, and the next, I'm in the Star Wars universe, born again to a Mandalorian and Jedi parent.

A smile formed on Rayden's lips. He was beyond excited. He always loved Star Wars, and both the Mandalorians and the Jedi fascinated him. Now he is both a Mandalorian and force-sensitive. He'll have to train extra hard not to squander his talents.

'System' with a mental call, Rayden pulls up the system that has accompanied him since he came to this universe.

[Rayden]

Age: 4

Midichlorians: 5000

Skills: none

Missions

It's a simple system, but it comes with some nice features.

The system allows Rayden to purchase a technology blueprint at a cost 10 times its original value. For example, the AT-Te costs 100k credits, and for a million credits, he can buy the blueprint to produce it himself. He can use credits to increase his midichlorian count at an ever-increasing ratio.

Right now, since he can slightly move objects with the Force, which means he has at least a midichlorian count of 5k per cell, as that is the base amount to be considered Force sensitive. For every 100 midichlorians, he would have to pay 1k in credits, but once he reaches 6,000, that ratio changes to 1:15. This means he will have to pay 1.5k for every 100 midichlorians per cell.

The system sometimes gives a mission with rewards and no penalties for Rayden to choose whether to complete it.

His current mission

Mission: 1km, 100 pushups, 10 pullups, and 20 burpees

Reward: slight boost to reaction speed

Looking at his mission and the reward for it, Rayden is determined to complete his first mission in this life.

'But slight boost to reaction speed is a weird reward for this type of mission.I wonder if this is a repetitive task that I can continuously complete. If I can boost my reaction speed, I would be like Minato from Naruto. Being able to react to my surroundings will help with dodging blaster bolts when flying star fighters.' Rayden thought.

"Let's just take it one step at a time for now."

The next morning, while having breakfast, Varn asked Rayden if he was ready for his new training schedule, cause it would be strict.

Even if the training was tough and strict, Rayden was ready for it.

A smile formed on Varn's face as he saw his son eager for his training. Then a slight chuckle left him as he wondered if he would have that same energy by the end of the day.

Varn will lead the physical exercises, Elyse will lead the Jedi training, and Torin will cover the culture and academic teaching.

At 6 am is breakfast. He will be done by 6:30.

From there, it will be stretches before light exercises, such as jumping jacks and squats.

A miniature obstacle course. To end the morning exercise with some running and dodging.

At 7:15, a quick break for a snack and hydration. With Torin telling stories from his younger days to help pass the time.

From 7:30 to 8:15, there will be basic hand-to-hand combat training. Rayden will learn the correct forms and stances for engaging in close-quarters combat. This will cover simple punches and blocks to help develop the flow and rhythm of combat. Additionally, techniques for dodging and grappling will be practiced to enhance defensive skills and effective takedowns.

Handing off to Torin at 8:15, Rayden will learn about Mandalorian culture. Mandoian languages, the Resol'nare, the clans, and the houses and clans of Mandalore, about the history of Clan Knight.

Another break at 9 to relax. Followed up by his Jedi training at 9:15, Rayden will begin with the basics of the Force, including meditation, sensing his surroundings, and becoming aware of the Force around him. Once he can feel and direct the Force, he will then practice telekinesis.

Lunch at 10:15 am

At 11 am, it's on to academics, covering math, science, and the wider galaxy as a whole. Each day focuses on a different subject.

At 12 pm, Basic blaster safety, handling, and shooting. Making sure Rayden doesn't hurt himself and always handles a blaster with care.

At 1 pm, Lightsaber training. Elyse doesn't have a practice saber yet, but using a wooden sword in the shape of a lightsaber will do the trick for now.

Focusing on learning the basics of swordsmanship, like stance, grip, and swinging the saber. With a droid to help practice against.

At 2, we end the day with the last class on history and leadership training. What is the current situation on Mandalore and in the broader galaxy. Learning about the clans and the House of Mandalore. Basic role-playing scenarios to work on his decision-making skills.

From here, Rayden has the rest of his day to rest, train on his own if he chooses, or play with others in the clan.

This will become Rayden's schedule for the foreseeable future. Having 2 rest days per week to start, and rotating focus on specific subjects.

As he gets older, more classes would be added, like polluting, jet pack training, tracking, intelligence gathering, hacking, etc.

Varn: Do you have any questions, son?

Rayden: No, I'm ok with this schedule

Varn: Good, we will also play by ear when things come up, and either I or your mother can't train you, or we have clan activities scheduled.

Rayden: Ok, let's get going then

The boy jumped from his seat, eager to start his new training.

1 year later 42 BBy

This past year has been both eventful and uneventful, to say the least. Everything was typical for Clan Knight; clan members came and went as they fulfilled their roles. Some worked in the Beskar mines beneath the Kweving Heights, others farmed at the base of the mountains, and a few served as bounty hunters, venturing out into the galaxy to earn a living.

For Rayden, each day is filled with training, practice, and the occasional clan party for special events. Through his physical training, he has reduced the time it takes to complete the obstacle course from over 7 minutes to around 6 minutes. His dedication to heavy exercise and a proper diet has also helped him develop noticeable muscle definition.

In terms of hand-to-hand combat, Rayden is confident that he can take on at least two opponents at once. He understands that while he may not be able to overpower them physically, his techniques and footwork should enable him to bring them to the ground long enough to deliver a critical blow to a vital area, such as the throat or groin.

Shooting has become one of Rayden's favorite activities to practice. He has achieved a 90% hit rate with stationary targets at distances of up to 5 meters and a 67% hit rate with moving targets. When targets are between 5 and 10 meters away, his accuracy drops to 70% for stationary targets and 40% for moving ones.

Over the past year, Varn has allowed Rayden to shoot various weapons to help him familiarize himself and decide on which ones he might use in the future. For training, he is using the WESTAR-35, manufactured by Mandal Motors. Rayden wants to dual-wield them, but Varn advised him to focus on mastering one weapon before attempting dual-wielding.

With his Force training, he has made some progress, but not as much as he had hoped. He can sense the Force in and around him and can move small objects a few inches. However, he can only maintain meditation for about 10 to 20 minutes before his thoughts start racing. When Elyse throws soft rubber balls at him, he is only able to dodge 3 or 4 out of 10.

"I know this is just the beginning of my journey with the Force, and I can improve my midichlorian count with the right system, but I was hoping for more practice," Rayden thought, reflecting on his somewhat lackluster performance with the Force compared to his other training.

Rayden has found that the bright side of his Jedi training with his mother lies in lightsaber combat. Although he has only been practicing with a wooden sword so far, he has successfully mastered his footwork, striking, and blocking against his mother's attacks. Of the forms that Elyse has taught him, he is most interested in Form 3 and Form 5. However, he plans to master all 7 forms, at least to a respectable level, while focusing more on 3 and 5.
