Chapter 3 - Deviation. ALICE

year 1931

She tore herself away from such a sweet, impossibly pleasant, yet almost faded pulse of a dark-haired female.

The neck cracked under deceptively thin and delicate fingers. The rightness of the action was confirmed by the cessation of vague visions of unfamiliar dead people. Who then rise from the dead in the same way as she herself rose before.

She was contagious and she knew it.

She exhaled, the warm blood bubbling at the corners of her mouth, licked her upper lip and moaned.

Her body was filled with warmth, pulled pleasantly in the lower abdomen, made her fingers tremble in anticipation, but some inner feeling of morbidity, completely unsupported by physical factors, still continued to pester.

She once again asked her visions about possible actions about this feeling and once again did not receive an answer.

She once again asked an additional question about possible persons who could help her with solving the problem of these sensations, and also expected no answer.

But instead of the usual fog, her inner eye was flooded with a vile vision - the outcome of gang rape, the body of an unfamiliar blonde. Her aesthetically beautiful body, even while in blood and abrasions, lying on the early snow on the pavement, red snow.

Following this, the vision was about the same blonde, who stared intently into the mirror, studying her former beauty in a new version, more predatory - thanks to the familiar scarlet eyes of the killer. More pale.

The third was a vision of this blonde girl, sincerely smiling at a bronze-haired vampire and sheepishly kissing him on the lips. A vampire whose eyes shone with amber color.

She asked the question. For the first time in a decade of useless wandering, she asked for directions as insistently as she could.

Where to?

year 1935

Mary Alice Brandon - or the much more familiar - Alice Cullen, was the new prodigal daughter of the Cullen coven. She came back after she had a vision of a new family member. He was saved by Rosalie - and when Alice decided to ask Rose why she did it, she had a vision that explained his resemblance to the little son of a former human friend... It didn't appear quite healthy to Alice, although of course what could this vampire know about mental health. Her first memories started in the alley near a burning mental hospital.

Emmett was looking at Rosalie with a gaze that put her on a pedestal and idolized her, but Alice could not leave the thought of that vision in which Edward was present.

Thoughts in the Cullen family were difficult to keep secret - and Alice did not attempt to at first. Edward and Rosalie - no matter what anyone wanted - did not fit together at all, did not like each other at all. Emmett didn't give a damn about prophecies, especially in his newborn state, and therefore did not stop his courting.

And no matter how much she wanted to look for something different in the future, when she asked a question about Edward's future personal life, for some reason, a girl with Rosalie's face and such an open smile always appeared, as if she had never experienced that violence.

***

Forty years after the fateful and world-shifting meeting with Jasper, Alice stopped seeing the future of Rose and Edward together. The one where Rose shone with that infectious smile and pleasant waves of peace that the real Rosalie, who did not belong to visions and the future, did not seem possible to fulfill.

For Rose, it was a sign that she and Emmett had defeated fate, whatever it was.

They had their first wedding and briefly separated from the Coven to focus on each other.

For Edward, this was a reason to withdraw even more into himself and periodically huff without any malice about the inaccuracy of her long-term predictions. Alice only rolled her eyes at this and flipped him off when he did that.

For some reason, Carlisle kept saying that for predictions of this kind, it is necessary to work on relationships. Alice indignantly replied that when a similar case affected her personal life, everything worked perfectly. Carlisle preferred to shut up after she mentioned that.

In the first month of the year 2005, Alice's brain made a slight reboot, it seems, and once again produced this uncanny vision.

Rosalie found out about it by accident when they were escorting Edward to Alaska, away from the singing blood of this girl Bella. He asked to stop broadcasting this useless vision for him to see, as he put it.

After the conversation with the girl, everything became even more unclear.
