—Frostbound Trial:
Astraeus was plunged into a void of frost.
No sound.
No time.
no warm water.
Just endless cold.
This was no physical realm — the Empress had locked his soul into the Frostbound Trial, a metaphysical test of will. His Phoenix flame was reduced to a flicker, and every breath frozen in his lungs.
And frozen in the air so cold, You can barely move inside. The ice dangling From the depths of the ocean floor, The trial has fully begun.
"The cold is not meant to kill you," a voice echoed. "It's meant to reveal you."
He saw visions — of his past, his fear of failure, his guilt and grief when kai his childhood friend when he was five died, the moment he almost let go of Joga's hand during the fall into the oceans. Then: a flicker of warmth — kai's voice calling out, "you have to be the light when I can't."
Astraeus clenched his fists.
Not from Joy from seeing his friend, but with a emotion that he wasn't Kai And all his guilt was bubbling inside him like a big balloon.
And with a roar, ignited his Phoenix fire —
not to destroy, but to embrace the cold.
The ice shattered.
He stood before the Glacier Empress again, flames dancing in his Red eyes.
She nodded once. "You're not the one who started the war. You're the one who must end it."
She opened her palm — revealing the Cryo Core.
—The Cryo Core Awakens:
When Astraeus touched the Cryo Core, his wings grew a second layer of feathers — translucent, icy, and sharp.
He didn't burn anymore — he glowed like a frozen flame.
The Empress gave him a warning.
"The Ash Lords have already reached the Sky Realm. Their next target is not just destruction. It's conversion. They seek to corrupt the Spirit Domain."
Joga looked up sharply. "That's where Eran is."
The Empress raised her hands, and a bridge of frozen starlight formed above them.
"Then you must go to the Sky Realms before the next eclipse. The old gates are still sealed— but there is one who can open them."
A name formed in the frost:
Venice Nura.
Astraeus's heart sank.
She was dead.
Wasn't she?
Venice Nura was a girl with Unmatched power, she killed and killed and had To be stopped until she died. And from the depths Of hell, even hell couldn't contain what she had become. But then she became what
salvation wanted then became nice.
—Ice and Thunder:
They traveled to the edge of Crystallis, where the frozen sea cracked against the Thunder Ridge, the border between the Sky Realm and the ice Realm.
There, they encountered a figure cloaked in violet lightning — a Skyborn Warden named Cirrael.
He was once Venice's right hand.
"She isn't dead," he told them. "Not truly. Her soul was fractured, but the Spirit Domain kept one shard alive."
"How do we reach her?" Astraeus asked.
Cirrael stepped back — revealing a vertical gate formed of storm clouds, spinning like a whirlpool in the sky.
"She left behind a storm path. But it's sealed behind her final trial: the Echo of Memory."
—Echo of Memory:
Astraeus stepped into the storm gate alone.
He emerged into Venice's memories — seeing her as a child in the Elemental Court, training with thunderbolts, arguing with the gods, then falling… dying…
He saw her regret.
And then her final act: splitting her soul into three fragments — one lost in the Sky Realm, one locked in the Spirit Domain, and one left behind in the Gate of Echoes.
Astraeus called out to her: "Venice. I need your help."
And a whisper returned:
"Then take my will."
The lightning formed into a sword — Voltrenzia, Venice's spirit blade — and her spirit shard floated into Astraeus's hand, granting him access to the Sky Gates.
—Skyfall Domain:
With Cirraels help, the team soared into the Skyfall Domain — a floating realm of broken islands, upside-down temples, and gravity- defying clouds.
The laws of physics were unstable here.
Joga was immediately affected — his weight fluctuated, his body losing form briefly.
"It's the influence of the Ash Lords," Cirrael said. "They're begun merging realms."
Astraeus looked up.
Above them, a massive, cracked moon pulsed with black lightning. It was not a moon — it was a Darkseed, a weapon left from the last war.
"We have to destroy that," Astraeus said.
But a voice replied, "you're too late."
A figure emerged from the clouds.
Neuron.
Neuron was a villain who Astraeus have Beaten from the darkness, he Rose and from the darkness he shall fall.
—Neuron Returns:
Neuron had changed.
His body was layered with shifting elemental runes — absorbed from countless battles. His arm was no flesh but made of pure
Spirits Thread, writhing like living ink.
"I watched you gain the Heart Flame, Astraeus," Neuron said with a cold smile. "I was watching when kai died. And I will be watching when your Phoenix burns out."
Astraeus summoned his flame, but Neuron grinned.
"I've devoured enough Phoenix essence to resist it. You're not the only one evolving."
He threw a sphere of corrupted lightning at Joga — who barely blocked it with a wall of water.
"I"ll let you live," Neuron said. "But only long enough to see the gate fall."
And he vanished — leaving behind a sigil pointing toward the Spirit Domain.
