Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: Excuse me, how many bags of pet food can I trade for the White Dragon Emperor's wings?

"Hehehehe… Sona-chan~ Sona-chan~ Sona-chan~"

Serafall clung to Sona's arm, beaming with joy.

Sona looked utterly lifeless, head hung low, silently praying no one she knew would see her like this.

Tsubaki walked ahead, occasionally glancing back at her club president with a helpless smile.

Lucemom also wore a strange expression as she looked at Serafall. Not long ago, Serafall had asked if she liked her sister, to which she answered she had no family, so the question didn't apply.

But at that moment, Lucemon already had a feeling this woman was the "obsessed with her little sister" type.

This went beyond normal sibling love.

In human terms… wasn't this what they called a "sister complex"?

Possibly an ultimate-tier sister complex.

Lucemon silently muttered in her mind.

"By the way, Sona-chan, why are we suddenly going after the fallen angels? Did they invade Kuoh Town? Or were you hurt by them? If you got hurt, you have to tell your big sister! I'll go beat up Azazel for you! I'll even storm Heaven itself for your sake!"

As her words grew more dramatic, Serafall's expression filled with concern.

Sona looked weary. This is exactly why I avoid discussing important things with you, Sis…

Even Lucemon couldn't help but think, Is this really the right person to handle diplomacy for the Underworld?

Sure, Lucemon herself could be reckless, but at least she was reliable when distributing tasks.

At least her three subordinate angels were dependable.

"Please, Sis… stop acting so impulsively. You're a Maou, after all!"

"Sona-chan, you're always so serious and stiff~ No wonder people think you're boring."

"B-Boring…"

It wasn't clear what was going on between these sisters—first the younger one stabbed the elder in the heart, and now it was reversed.

You two are just emotionally scarring each other!

Lucemon sighed internally but said nothing and continued listening.

Holding her chest as if pierced by arrows, Sona still responded.

"Recently, someone I had my eye on—someone who had a Sacred Gear inside them—was killed by a fallen angel. The energy from the Sacred Gear vanished."

"I see… how dare those fallen angels sneak into Kuoh Town and steal Sacred Gears!"

"Tsubaki found one of their small outposts in town. I'm going to take care of it."

"Hehe… Then let me swing my glittering wand and obliterate those fallen angels to avenge Sona-tan!"

"Please restrain yourself. You're a Maou. Your 'glittering' wand could destroy a small country in a few minutes."

The sisterly comedy act resumed, and Lucemon rolled her eyes and slowly stepped forward to distance herself.

Sensing her presence, Tsubaki stiffened, her expression becoming uneasy.

She didn't know how strong Lucemon truly was, but Serafall had once said this angel had fought Lucifer.

As for the result, Serafall didn't mention it.

And Lucemon hadn't brought it up either—clearly because if Sirzechs had lost, it would've been humiliating. Still, Lucemon had graciously gone along with him to stretch her legs.

Even without knowing the outcome, they knew this angel had the guts to pick a fight with a Maou.

Even Rias and the others acted tense around her.

More than just power—it was because she was an angel.

"Ahem… we're here!"

Clearing her throat, Tsubaki got Sona and Serafall's attention.

Everyone looked up at the gate of an abandoned factory.

Sona lightly tapped her temple, realization dawning.

"It's practically outside Kuoh Town, and not even a church. No wonder it took some effort. Thank you, Tsubaki."

"Just doing my duty."

Serafall stepped forward, her eyes twinkling with amusement.

"There's definitely fallen angel energy inside—but not much."

"Right. According to Tsubaki's interrogation, the target likely came here without informing their superiors," Sona explained.

Serafall clicked her tongue.

"Tch. I was hoping we could use this to blackmail Azazel for some goodies."

Clearly, this Maou was no amateur when it came to political maneuvering. If Azazel had been involved, the Underworld could've demanded compensation.

They'd already heard rumors that Azazel was collecting Sacred Gears and their wielders.

There were even whispers that the legendary White Dragon Emperor was now with the fallen angels.

Naturally, this made the Underworld wary. The appearance of fallen angels in Kuoh Town had raised suspicions.

Now, at least, they could relax a bit.

Shame though—no extortion this time.

Lucemon yawned. Watching the trio still stalling at the door, she couldn't help but speak up.

"Hey, hey, hey! You're at the gate already—why aren't you going in? Can't you feel the holy power inside weakening? If you wait any longer, someone else will beat you to it!"

Serafall's eyes widened. Indeed, the energy inside was fading.

As a higher-level angel with stronger perception, Lucemon could feel it earlier than the rest.

Sona's eyes sharpened. With a flick of her hand, the gate exploded.

A brilliant light burst from inside, shooting into the sky like an aurora.

Under their gaze, the light took shape.

A figure in pure white armor, adorned with blue gems across the suit, including the helmet. A pair of ghostly blue wings of light spread behind the figure.

Serafall's expression changed as she connected the dots.

"Could that be… the White Dragon Emperor?!"

Immediately, everyone's expressions turned serious.

Except Lucemon, whose eyes sparkled. She studied the armor closely.

If I handed that over to my master, maybe I could trade it for higher-grade food…

—Excuse me, how many bags of pet food can I trade for the White Dragon Emperor's light wings?

That was what Lucemon seriously wanted to ask.

Vali had no idea a terrifyingly kind angel had set her eyes on his Divine Dividing gear.
