Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Rias – Bullied by Power Comparison!

"Nee-san————————————"

Inside the student council room of Kuoh Academy, Sona's wails echoed loudly.

Thankfully, her peerage outside the room had already taken precautions, or else a lot of people might've heard their esteemed student council president breaking her usual persona. Actually, it wasn't just the voice that shattered her image, even the scene inside would have.

"You're so mean, Sona-chan. I even came all the way to the human world, and you didn't even think to come find your sister. Is talking to your big sister really that boring? And to make it worse, after finally meeting me, you just forcefully changed my magical girl outfit. I really liked that one!"

"Nee-san, you're going to meet Kurosawa Ren, right? As a Maou, you should dress more formally."

"Hehe, but I heard from Luce-chan that Kurosawa Ren isn't that hard to get along with. So I thought maybe we'd have similar interests—like being into little sisters, or liking magical girls. Those are perfectly respectable hobbies!"

"Please don't casually throw around interests that don't suit a Maou's image——————"

"What's this? So the Sona-chan who used to always shout 'I love Nee-sama the most' is now embarrassed of me?"

"Nee-san————————————"

Poor Sona let out another pitiful wail.

---

Outside the room, Tsubaki and the others couldn't help but break into a cold sweat for their president.

Normally, a reunion between sisters should be a touching moment, right? So why is this family so eccentric? What should've been heartwarming instead kept breaking down their president's usually composed expression.

Forget Tsubaki—even Rias, who was on her way to greet the visiting Maou Leviathan, quietly broke into a sweat upon hearing the commotion inside the student council room. She silently offered her sympathies: Hang in there, Sona.

Recalling how her own brother was a major siscon too, Rias couldn't help but relate deeply.

Before long, everyone's attention shifted to the angelic being standing nearby—Lucemon.

Even without doing anything, just standing there radiated holy power that all of them could feel.

She made no effort to conceal her angelic nature.

Right now, Lucemon stood there watching Rias with amusement on her face.

Feeling that gaze, Rias instantly felt immense pressure.

"You are…?"

Though she was a devil and the other party was an angel, Rias reasoned that since this being came with the Maou Leviathan, she likely wasn't an enemy.

After Rias voiced her question, Lucemon replied indifferently.

"I'm Lucemon. Also… don't call me Luce-chan or anything like that. It seriously pisses me off."

As she said this, Lucemon's mouth twitched slightly, and her eyes briefly glanced over at Serafall.

If Ren hadn't told her not to go wild, and if she weren't holding back a bit, Serafall would have already ended up like Sirzechs—face disfigured by a beatdown.

And without giving the others a chance to continue questioning her, Lucemon suddenly took the lead and asked,

"What's your relationship with Sirzechs?"

"...He's my brother..."

After a moment of hesitation, Rias answered honestly.

She had the gut feeling that if she lied, she'd get smacked. And besides, it was something anyone could look up easily.

"So you're his little sister. Then you must've been the one talking to Sirzechs on the communicator earlier. No wonder you both have the same kind of power inside. But… you're way weaker than him, aren't you? Is it really okay for a little sister to be this weak? The difference between you two is like a planet and a speck of dust."

Rias: "..."

What am I even supposed to say to that? This kind of malicious power comparison is just exhausting.

Lately, have I been meeting too many weirdos?

After saying just that one line, Lucemon lost interest in her.

Even if she eventually becomes stronger, that's a matter for the future. It had nothing to do with Lucemon.

Then, Lucemon glanced over at Koneko, and her brow lifted slightly.

Although she sensed the presence of that little cat on Koneko, and similar power too, she didn't pay it much mind. Someone as arrogant as her wouldn't bother caring what ants were thinking.

She only gave attention to those on her level—or close to it.

That was the pride of a god from the Digital World. Even if that god currently had a World Tree sitting on her head.

Still, once she returned to the Digital World, she'd probably be able to smack that World Tree around.

Koneko tilted her head in confusion. Why was this being looking at her like that?

—Ka-cha!

The door to the student council opened, and Serafall walked out with a satisfied smile, her arms tightly wrapped around Sona.

Sona emerged wearing the face of someone who had lost the will to live. Clearly, she'd been "tormented" thoroughly.

"Had your fun?"

Lucemon asked coldly, as if slightly annoyed.

Of course, she understood why the angel was annoyed. Serafall quickly moved forward, seemingly unbothered by Lucemon's holy power at all.

"Hehe, don't be so petty, Luce-chan! I just wanted to check up on my dear Sona-chan!"

"You're going to be staying in the human world for a while anyway, right? Why bother?"

"There's an old human saying, 'One day apart feels like three years.' I haven't seen Sona-chan in months! If you calculate it out, that's like a lifetime!"

Listening to her sister's nonsense, Sona covered her face and turned her head away.

Even if she was happy to be loved so much by her sister, this kind of behavior that completely lacked the dignity of a Maou made her feel embarrassed.

What frustrated Sona the most was… she was starting to get used to it.

Lucemon rolled her eyes and muttered,

"I suppose we should head over now… Also, judging by that look, are you planning to bring your sister along?"

"Of course not. This kind of matter isn't something Sona should be involved in. She's just coming along since it's on the way."

As she spoke, Serafall's expression turned slightly more serious.

At the same time, Sona gave a small nod.

Earlier, her queen, Tsubaki, had reported some follow-up regarding the Saji's incident. Tsubaki had captured a fallen angel and interrogated them—learning that they had come to Kuoh Town to seize Sacred Gears. In fact, Tsubaki had even discovered one of their small strongholds in the town.

Hearing this, Lucemon nodded slightly. She had been hanging around here for quite a while anyway, so a little more waiting didn't bother her.

However...

Sensing the sudden influx of unfamiliar auras in Kuoh Town, the corner of Lucemon's lips curled slightly.

"Since I left, quite a few interesting presences have shown up here... and a dragon too? Are they after the Dragon Emperor? Things have been boring lately—should I mess with that Royal Knight for a bit?"

Loves stirring up trouble, holds a grudge against the Royal Knights, and bored out of her mind—Lucemon's inner thoughts were unusually active.

If Lucemon were supposed to be an angel in this world, he probably would've fallen long ago.
