Chapter 9 - 9

Hey, Peter, why do I feel like you're a lot stronger today than yesterday? Is it just my imagination?"

The next morning, Ron arrived at school and smiled when he saw Peter Parker, who was much stronger than before and had even taken off the glasses he had worn for several years. Ron asked Peter.

"...Huh? Really? I didn't even notice..."

Because his body had already become powerful, Peter Parker's mind was not on the normal track. After hearing Ron's voice, he quickly hummed in response, vaguely brushing Ron off.

"You must have been working out a lot lately, that's why you've gotten so strong. Alright, hurry up and go to class, see you later."

Ron smiled and no longer had any intention of teasing Peter. He waved his hand and left.

After obtaining the mutated spider he wanted and strengthening himself, Ron did not intend to leave Midtown High School immediately. Instead, he was waiting to see how Harry's father, Norman Osborn, would react after being influenced by his mental powers, and also the many changes that would occur after Peter became Spider-Man.

And the day Peter's uncle, Ben Parker, would have an accident!

Over the past year, in order to get close to Peter Parker, Ron had met Peter's uncle and aunt, Ben Parker and May Parker, several times, and had even been a guest at Peter's house twice. He was very familiar with Ben Parker.

Ron actually greatly admired this person who influenced Peter Parker's entire career as Spider-Man.

Although Ben Parker's body was old, he still had the spirit of helping others. After learning that Ron had lost his parents, he even considered adopting Ron, but Ron politely declined.

Ron, of course, would not allow such a caring person to suffer an accident.

So Ron was waiting, waiting for the day Peter and Ben Parker went out together, so he could save Ben Parker.

Although doing so might cause Peter Parker to not understand the principle of 'with great power comes great responsibility,' and thus not be very interested in becoming a superhero.

But compared to Ben Parker's life, these were all minor matters.

If Peter's destiny truly was to become a superhero, then Uncle Ben's life or death was not a crucial factor in Peter becoming Spider-Man!

The most important thing was whether Peter had a kind heart to help others... Ron arrived at the classroom, ready for class.

The knowledge in this world was definitely very different from that of America in his previous world. The books here would talk about the history of mutants in this world, the development and research of high technology, and so on, which was still somewhat useful to Ron.

Ron's mental power was strong, and learning knowledge now was many times easier than before; he basically belonged to the type who understood things at first glance.

In addition to technology class, Ron also enjoyed physics and math classes, because Ron found that this knowledge was of great help to him in using his various abilities.

Ron could be considered an all-around psychic superpower user. Not to mention his ability to materialize fantasies, just the ability of telekinesis, if Ron could use it in a scientific way, its power would increase exponentially.

For example, using telekinesis to compress air, create hot and cold reactions, compress molecules, form molecular blades, and various other uses.

At this moment, Ron was in the school's technology class when a plump middle-aged woman with a somewhat sad expression suddenly appeared outside the classroom door.

This woman's name was Mrs. Zane, and she was also a teacher at Midtown High School.

After she entered the classroom, she spoke a few words to the technology teacher who was lecturing, and then stood to the side.

The technology teacher, after listening to Mrs. Zane's words, sighed softly, his expression also becoming somewhat sad.

He faced all the students and said to everyone.

"Students, I just received news that Jessica Campbell, a student from our school, was involved in a car accident while on sick leave and traveling with her family. The accident was caused by a military vehicle containing radioactive chemical substances. Jessica's entire family passed away, and Jessica herself became an unconscious vegetative state due to the accident, remaining in a coma. Our school, upon learning of this, plans to organize a visit to Jessica. Students who wish to visit Jessica can report to the school administration department now, and then we will go together to visit Jessica."

After hearing the technology teacher's words, all the students were surprised and disbelieving.

They all knew this girl, Jessica Campbell. She had excellent grades at school and was very enthusiastic. A few days ago, she took sick leave and went home because of an illness. They never expected that she would now be hit by a car and become a vegetative state. How unpredictable life is!

Many students who had a good relationship with Jessica also became somewhat sad. They got up, packed their things, and prepared to visit Jessica.

At this moment, Ron, who was on the side, frowned tightly, suddenly finding the name Jessica Campbell, which the technology teacher had just mentioned, somewhat familiar.

Jessica Campbell, military vehicle with radioactive chemical substances, car accident, unconscious... Ron thought carefully for a while and finally realized why it sounded familiar.

"Jessica, Campbell, isn't that Jessica Jones later on, the former superhero, Jewel?"

After realizing Jessica Campbell's identity, Ron smiled bitterly and shook his head, cursing himself for not noticing that the legendary Jewel, Jessica Jones, was also studying at Midtown High School.

Jessica Jones, originally named Jessica Campbell, a high school classmate of Spider-Man Peter Parker, and a future member of the Defenders. She gained superpowers due to radiation from chemical substances. Her superpowers include powerful physical attack abilities and flight. Her abilities are quite good among superheroes.

The reason Ron hadn't thought of Jessica Jones before was because there were so few comics and movies about Jessica Jones, and coupled with the long passage of time, Ron had forgotten that Jessica Jones also studied at Midtown High School.

Moreover, the name Jessica is very common in the United States. In Midtown High School alone, Ron remembered dozens of people named Jessica.

And Jessica Jones, who was still in high school, was called Jessica Campbell, which had no relation to Jessica Jones at all, so Ron truly did not know about this matter.

Thinking about the information related to Jessica Jones, Ron did not stay at school. Instead, he followed the other students who were going to visit Jessica, preparing to visit her.

Because Ron remembered that several months after Jessica Campbell fell into a coma in the hospital, the Fantastic Four clashed with one of the most powerful figures in the American comic world, Galactus, fighting fiercely. Jessica also woke up from her coma because of this.

Now that Jessica Campbell had appeared and was already in a coma, if the plot were to follow, the Fantastic Four should also appear very soon, right?

However, Ron was not too certain.

Because this Marvel world was a place where all Marvel superheroes and big bosses existed, and the timeline was very chaotic, so chaotic that Ron couldn't figure out what would happen next.

Logically, the Fantastic Four should have appeared earlier than Spider-Man, but now Spider-Man had been bitten, and the Fantastic Four were still nowhere to be seen, which left Ron at a loss!

But no matter what, the power of Galactus, the Fantastic Four's opponent, was not much weaker than Thanos with the Infinity Stones in the Marvel world. He was also a super boss who wanted to destroy the entire Earth, so Ron had to be careful about this.

Soon after arriving at the school administration department, Ron boarded one of the school buses and went with some people to a hospital in New York to visit the future superhero, Jewel, Jessica Campbell!

Mrs. Zane here is a foreshadowing. Can you guess which movie Mrs. Zane is from?
