The boy holding a gaming console in hand, thought about "looting" the bodies on the ground, with various unknown items with unknown effects.

There was too much for him to pick up and none of them seemed to catch his eyes at first sight.
Even so, he decided to loot the wearable items like rings, bracelets and necklaces... It might help him survive... Except there might be negative effects too. It was all random.
Only one thing was sure. Just as it has positive effects, there will also be negative effects. The scales of negative and positive is random.
After a while of picking items, he chose all defenses items possible on the ground.
[All-knowing Ring.], [Devil's Ring.], [Ring of Life.], [A regular looking bracelet that can summon a spirit.].

You "might" become an undead and become immune to death if lucky. But otherwise, you'll die for "eternity"...
Fortunately, the necklace holder didn't wear it before they died. Whoever they was... They should know they were saved by the chained killer.
Going back to the rings, the all knowing ring tells you informations you wants to know in exchange of shouting out one of your personal information out... It was a test of embarrassment but it was a minor negative effect.
Devil's Ring, like how it sounds, come from a devil. It makes you be able to manipulate, amplify, and make other's negative emotions more negative. The only negative effect of this item was that it makes you really evil but right now his priority was survival. It was useless for now but it might be useful later when he tries to manipulate behind the scenes. But he was pretty confident that he was already powerful enough.
Ring of Life, lets you revive after dying, reviving at the place you died. It will take away everything you had before dying but you'll survive in your own body. The only negative effect was that it takes away "everything" you had before death except your memories and body.
Which means you might as well be an overpowered one before death and becomes weak after reviving. It was only a contingency and this ring could also negate the really evil effect of the devil's ring. Uh, you'd also revive "naked" since your clothes would be gone, but that's trivial when it comes to survival.
The bracelet was one that could summon a random spirit... The negative effect was that you wouldn't be able to know what spirit you'll summon. He took this loot not because of summoning spirit but because it gave another positive effect, it's super loyal and never disappears even after death...
It also gives you a passive effect of your bracelet wearing hand be really swift. Not that it was needed for him... He took this just for decoration and because he thought of negating the Life's Ring effects of reviving and having nothing except body and memories.
After the looting session, it was now time for him to hunt other players. He could even be considered pretty stacked by now...
By this time, the time stop has already been used and the scythe wielding girl was already sealed.
There was also only around 30 people left. Some gathered in groups, fighting each others... Some alone, hiding from others... Some chasing others...
As he observed and thought about who to kill first, he decided to go to larger groups for more kills...
Ironically enough, there are also loopholes of using the gaming console and using your body in reality as a character. Even though [dodge] is only for dodging. It ultimately moves your body in the process. So, you can use it to travel distances faster...

Now, the numbers became clearer as there was only 18 people left in this strange arena of Rng killing or fighting game.
There was no longer any groups of people as he killed the last remaining 2 earlier, leaving only scattered people, hiding, fighting or chasing others.
After the effortless kills, it takes a while for him to reach another person in the closest range...
It was a mysterious lady with black hair flowing down all the way to her waist, with her hair covering her left side of the face.
She had no strange looking items on her, but she was smoking a cigarette that comes from nowhere...
Regardless of she was beautiful or not didn't matter, as he quickly taps on the screen [slash] multiple times to kill her quickly...
To his surprise, she was unharmed, the slashes effects only visible on the screen hit nothing in both game and reality.
And she wouldn't be able to dodge it as it was light-speed fast in real time... So what did she do?
The woman kept smoking her cigarette, not minding the console holding guy tapping on his console screen...
She glanced at him for a few moments, there was a strange evil-like smile on his face, one that came from the ring on his hands... He didn't seem to realize it as he was oblivious, his eyes only on the console.
Then her "figure" disappeared from reality, and from the game console screen!
Naturally, his smile turned into a frown, he hasn't expecting a person with no items on hand suddenly being able to resist and survive his attacks... Or disappear strangely.
But he understood what it was. It was a body-bound item! No—a body-bound skill! Like the chained guy earlier summoning chains...
The odds of getting such abilities, skills or good items are quite rare and random... But there was 150 people...
And obviously, the ones who got better items than the rest mostly survived. Only "most" because some people with trashy items still survived somehow...
Suddenly, the girl's figure appeared again in the air, in front of the guy and reaching out her hands...

Her "reappeared" figure pulled something out of the air as another cigarette appeared. Then she stood there smoking the cigarette as she summoned "flame" to light it up.
Her smile quickly turned gloomy and cold as she smoked the cigarette yet again. As if recalling painful past memories...
