Finally, Mikazuki and Hilda returned to the room. Upon opening the door, they saw Lacus sitting there, her face filled with guilt, mumbling incessantly,

"It's all my fault..."

Hearing the door open, Lacus quickly stood up.

"Hil—"

Upon seeing Mikazuki, Lacus suddenly rushed towards him.

Plop.

Mikazuki was enveloped by a curvaceous, soft body. A pleasant scent filled his nostrils, and Lacus's gentle, remorseful voice reached his ears.

"I'm so sorry, Mikazuki, truly sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. I'm so sorry..."

Hearing Lacus continuously apologize, Mikazuki felt a bit embarrassed. Having a girl apologize so humbly made Mikazuki suddenly feel like a big bad wolf who had tricked a little lamb, a growing sense of guilt.

"Uh... I'm not angry. I was impulsive. What I said earlier was a bit harsh. My apologies...

Also... could you let go of me? I can't breathe."

Lacus, who had been holding Mikazuki tightly, finally realized her impropriety. Her pretty face instantly flushed crimson, and she quickly pushed Mikazuki away.

"I'm... I'm sorry..."

Seeing that the atmosphere between the two seemed rather good, Hilda's eyes lit up, and she subtly slipped out of the room.

Only Mikazuki and Lacus remained in the room. Lacus, shyly, hesitated a moment, then whispered,

"You... you won't leave now, will you?"

"Ah, no, I won't."

"Really?"

"Really. Don't forget to sort out my identity."

"Mm-hmm, leave it to me. Oh, right, do you want some snacks? I'm best at making snacks."

"Hmm... do you have any dates here?"

Lacus tilted her small head adorably.

"Dates?"

...Dividing Line...

Three days later.

Mikazuki's identity was finally settled. Lacus arranged two sets of identification for Mikazuki: one from the neutral nation of Orb and another from their PLANT nation. Both were ordinary citizen IDs, making it easier for Mikazuki to travel anywhere.

During these three days, Mikazuki connected his earphone to the computer network. Orga, following the network, gathered a good understanding of this world's information.

Earth Alliance, PLANT, Colonies, ZAFT, Neutral Nations, Coordinators, Naturals—everything became clear.

This included the current global situation and why the relationship between PLANT and Earth was so strained. It all stemmed from the Bloody Valentine incident that occurred in PLANT a year ago.

The Earth Alliance military used nuclear weapons, which were considered forbidden, against PLANT, severely damaging Junius Seven, a food production colony, and causing 243,721 deaths.

However, the Earth Alliance later claimed it was a self-destruct operation by PLANT. The Earth Alliance military's ugly face infuriated PLANT, leading to continuous friction and war.

Lacus Clyne's identity was also clarified.

Her background was even more significant than Orga had imagined. Besides being the daughter of PLANT's supreme leader, she was also a famous superstar throughout the PLANT nation, known as the First Songstress, Lacus Clyne.

She had been publicly advocating for peace since before C.E. 71, a point she shared in common with Kudelia.

However, unlike Kudelia at the time, Lacus had the support of the vast majority of the people in PLANT.

Mikazuki leaned against a large tree in the villa's courtyard, sitting cross-legged and eating dates that Lacus had specially bought for him. He had his earphone in his left ear, conversing with Orga.

"Hey, Orga, I've got all the information about this world. What do we do now?"

Orga's thoughtful hum came through the earphone.

"Hmm, to be honest, I don't know either. We're just outsiders. Their war has nothing to do with us."

"So, do we stay here forever? Lacus seems to be going back to her country and asked if I wanted to go with her."

"And your answer?"

Mikazuki popped a date into his mouth, chewing as he spoke.

"I refused. Barbatos is still there. Even though she said she'd find a way, I still refused."

"You, you fool... Is Barbatos your wife or something?"

Orga ribbed him.

Mikazuki replied with dead-fish eyes.

"Mind your own business."

Orga thought for a moment and said,

"Got it. We're going to Heliopolis, Orb's resource satellite."

Mikazuki raised an eyebrow, unable to resist asking,

"Why?"

Orga chuckled.

"I just intruded into the Earth Alliance's encrypted network through a backdoor and got some amazing intelligence.

The Earth Alliance and Orb's Morgenroete Inc. have secretly developed five mobile suits on Heliopolis. Guess what they're called?"

Mikazuki's curiosity was piqued by Orga. He followed up,

"What?"

Orga said softly,

"Gundam."

Mikazuki's pupils contracted.

"Gundam? Like Barbatos?"

"More or less, yeah. How about it? It's Gundam. Interested now?"

Mikazuki turned his head, replying calmly,

"Ah, sort of."

"What a bland reaction..."

"Then let's go. We don't have any clues on how to get back anyway. Staying here won't help us find a way, so let's go check it out."

"Oh, right, Mikazuki, when you get back to Barbatos, I'll tell you something."

"What?"

"I'll tell you when you get back."

Orga played coy, and Mikazuki pouted.

"So mysterious. So I just tell Lacus that we're going to that satellite, right?"

Orga thoughtfully repeated for his less-than-fastidious brother,

"Heliopolis."

"Oh, right, Heliopolis."

"Ask her if she can bring Barbatos along too. Remember, don't be too direct with your tone, be a bit more tactful, understand?

Don't make a girl sad again like you did two days ago, you blunt man."

Hearing Orga bring up the incident from two days ago, Mikazuki awkwardly scratched his head.

"Yes, yes..."
