Of course, it was possible Ying Zi'nian was reading too much into it. Maybe the author just wanted to pad the story.
Whatever the reason, none of this was hard for Ying Zi'nian to accept.
Compared to this — the anime arc with Yamato and Momonosuke almost made him throw his computer out the window!

"Then we killed him."
Marco's voice was ice cold.
The Whitebeard Pirates had an unbreakable law: no one was permitted to harm a crewmate.
The old man had given Teach his chance. He didn't take it.
As for how the parallel Whitebeard Pirates would handle Teach going forward, Whitebeard didn't know.
He didn't think his parallel self would punish present-day Teach over an unknowable future. Nothing had happened yet.
It was the same with Uchiha Madara in the ninja world.
He observed a Senju Hashirama completely different from his own — watching how, in spite of Tobirama's opposition, he forcibly overrode Tobirama's will to make Madara火影.
