Chapter 45 - Chapter 45: “Dagu is My Light!” & Do You Really Doubt Black Zetsu’s Resolve?

Being able to join this chat group was honestly one of the luckiest things that ever happened to Brandon.

It wasn't even about the way the chat group had changed his destiny or made him stronger—he was just genuinely happy to have met these people, to chat, joke, and bicker with them. Of course, that was how he felt; someone in the group admin's shoes, whose powers weren't quite so overwhelming, would probably have more complicated feelings.

Just Like That Meow:

"Why does it feel like this topic suddenly got so heavy? Meow."

Cook Dagu into Soup:

"It is kind of heavy. But there's also a bit of joy in it."

"Think about it: The fact that the stories that created us are loved and cherished in another world—even influencing people's lives there in all sorts of ways—that's actually way more uplifting than just worrying about being a fictional character."

He paused, a little anxious, then added:

"I just wonder how people in that other world really see me, or my show. Does it make them better people? Or… are there those who might take the wrong lessons from it?"

In his past life, Dagu had obsessed a lot about being 'just a character.' But now, realizing his world's story had touched so many in another reality, that feeling shifted—morphing into something like pride, excitement, and a healthy dose of fear.

He hoped what he brought people was light and hope, not just more darkness. That somewhere out there, the kids who watched his show actually believed in hope and justice, even if his story itself was sometimes filled with the shadows of human nature.

Child of Nature (Brandon):

"You're already thinking about questions like that? That's so like you, Dagu."

He smiled, typing without hesitation.

"Don't worry. In my world, you've influenced tons of people. You made them believe in the existence of light. Heck, there are kids—whole generations!—who dream of turning into Ultraman and punching evil in the face."

Ordinary Group Admin:

"I'm back!"

She'd just finished her thirty-minute mute, only to check the chat log and see everyone waxing nostalgic.

"You all are still talking about youth? Dagu is literally the light of my childhood!"

She grinned to herself and added:

"I'll never understand how people could watch Ultraman and think it's 'too violent.' Did they even pay attention to the actual lessons in those episodes?"

Uchiha Dance King:

"Violence?"

He snorted.

He admitted Ultraman and the monsters had some flashy powers, but a couple of punches and kicks were hardly "violence" by his standards.

Compared to his own battles, mowing down tens of thousands in the Ninja War, Ultraman was practically a gentle teacher.

Ordinary Group Admin:

"Yeah, a lot of us watched it as kids, so I guess adults got a little too strict."

"But come on, it's not like most people turned out any worse for it."

"If some parents want to blame their kids' weird behavior on Ultraman, their kids were probably just a little different to begin with."

Brandon just smiled, unsure how to comment. It wasn't just Ultraman—shows like "Sheep and Wolves" and "Bear's Adventure" had all faced random public complaints. Even "Rainbow Cat Blue Rabbit," an absolute classic, hadn't been spared.

He couldn't help but wonder if anything had changed in this new world.

Child of Nature:

"Enough about that. How'd the spirit energy beads work for you all?"

Ordinary Group Admin:

"Amazing! The effect was super strong!"

Invincible East:

"I broke through two cultivation levels in a row!"

Come Be My Son:

"My body feels lighter than it has in years. Kurararara!"

Uchiha Dance King:

"My soul feels a bit more solid, though since I don't have a body, I absorb it really slowly. Plus, being in the spirit world means I can only act on instinct, not really think about it. If I had the Rinnegan… well, let's just say, I'll handle it after I'm resurrected."

Golden Flash:

"You sure you'll get resurrected?"

Minato's lips twitched. Now that he'd seen the future through the memory files, he knew Madara's motives were about peace, but he didn't buy into the idea of salvation through a dream. He'd never let Madara come back if he could help it.

Uchiha Dance King:

"You think you're smarter than Black Zetsu?"

He sounded almost amused.

"The future is never set in stone. Personally, I respect Black Zetsu's determination to revive Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. As for you, I don't see you outwitting him any time soon."

"For now, why not focus on the Nine-Tails, or your own village politics? For a Fourth Hokage, you really have the weakest grip on power of any Kage."

Golden Flash:

"Ouch. That's a brutal review—but hard to argue."

The truth was, even though he was technically Hokage, most of the real authority still lay with the Third, and the secret police were loyal only to Danzo. The major clans—like the Ino-Shika-Cho trio—might seem to follow orders, but in reality, when it came down to a power struggle, they'd always play it safe. Even the Hyuga clan was pretty much doing its own thing. Ironically, the Uchiha clan might be his best bet for real support.

Life really was a twisted joke sometimes.

Richest Man:

"I'm telling you, that spirit energy bead was insanely strong!"

"I only ate one and I haven't slept for three nights straight."

"They just couldn't… hang in there—wait, what did I just say?"

"Ding! Richest Man has retracted a message."

Richest Man:

"I've just been really, really focused on making armor. If I hadn't run out of materials, I'd have finished the perfect Iron Suit by now!"

Child of Nature:

"You do know we all saw what you wrote, right? Even if you delete it?"

Her words had everyone laughing.

Richest Man:

"Hey, life's tough. What can you do?"

"And anyway, me and Pepper haven't even started dating. Your bead was just too strong! It's not my fault!"

Ordinary Group Admin:

"Then why don't you just tell Pepper how you feel?"

Richest Man:

"Uh…"

Most Evil Spirit:

"What, are you shy?"

Richest Man:

"Shy? Please! I'm Tony Stark! I don't get shy."

"It's just… not the right time. When the moment comes, not only will I confess, I'll go all out!"

Ordinary Group Admin:

"Tsk, tsk."

Glory of the North God:

"Shiba Inu refuses. jpg"

"Keep your sappy couple moments to yourself."

"..."

Brandon didn't join in the later banter. He just scrolled through the messages and smiled quietly to himself.

Having this chat group—being able to witness and share in all these random, heartfelt, and hilarious moments—really was amazing.

He glanced at his points balance. Not much, just over two thousand, enough for two lucky draws.

Some came from daily check-ins, some from recycling mutant beast corpses and spirit energy beads.

In the group's recycling system, both spirit beads and mutated beast corpses had their own value.
