Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

It was a sunny day at school when the teacher, Mrs. Johnson, walked into the classroom, she was met with a chorus of chatter and laughter from the students. She smiled warmly and held up her hands for silence.

"Okay, class.

Good afternoon I have some exciting news to share with you all," she announced, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "As you know, the weather has been getting hotter lately, and I think we could all use a chance to cool off."

The students nodded in agreement, and Mrs. Johnson continued, "So, I'm pleased to announce that we'll be having a swimming party this weekend!"

The classroom erupted into cheers and applause, with students high-fiving each other and grinning from ear to ear. Ryder and Jasmine exchanged an excited glance, already planning their outfits and poolside antics.

Ray, who was sitting at the back of the classroom, looked up from his book and smiled quietly to himself. He was looking forward to the swimming party, and he knew it would be a great opportunity to relax and have some fun with his classmates.

Mrs. Johnson held up her hands again, this time to quiet the students down. "Okay, okay. I know you're all excited, but let's go over the details. The party will be held at the school pool on Saturday afternoon. We'll provide the snacks and drinks, but you'll need to bring your own towels and swimsuits."

The students nodded, still buzzing with excitement. Mrs. Johnson smiled and handed out permission slips. "Make sure to get these signed by your parents and return them to me by Friday. Let's make this a weekend to remember!"

Thank you man

The girls chorused ...

soon It was Break time,

Ray walked through the school garden he was going for his drawing class when, he spotted Milicent sitting on a bench, reading a book. He smiled and walked over to her.

"Hey, Milicent

What's up?" Ray asked, sitting down beside her.

Milicent's eyes widened in surprise as Ray suddenly spoke to her in school, because he treats her like a stranger even when they live In the same building. She felt a flutter in her chest and her cheeks flushed slightly. She looked around to see if anyone else noticed, then turned back to Ray, trying to play it cool. "H-hi," she stuttered, her voice barely above a whisper.

As Ray continued to talk to her, Milicent's initial shock gave way to curiosity and a hint of excitement. She found herself smiling and laughing at Ray's words, feeling a sense of connection she hadn't experienced before.

Milicent's reaction could als

Just enjoying the sunshine. What about you?"

Ray grinned. "I'm doing great, thanks. so did you hear about the swimming party this weekend

Milicent's eyes lit up. "A swimming party? That sounds like so much fun! Is everyone invited?"

Ray nodded. "Yeah, the whole class is invited. And

it's for us in the 12th grade I was thinking, would you like to come with me?"

I really do not have anyone to do the couple outfit

stuff , so I just wanted to ask if we could go

together?

Milicent's face broke out into a wide smile. "I'd love to, Ray! Thank you for inviting me."

Ray smiled back at her. "No problem, I'm looking forward to it.

But,....I just realized,

that I do not have a swimming suit"

I've never really had a chance to go swimming before

. "Don't worry, I've got you covered! I'll get you a swimming suit, okay

you can remind me when we get home

to place orders for it!!!

Milicent's eyes sparkled with gratitude. "Thank you, Ray! You're too kind."

"It's no big deal, make sure you have fun at the party. It starts at 10 am on Saturday, okay?"

Milicent nodded, still smiling. "Sounds perfect, Ray. I'll be ready!"

Okay then 😌

Ray walked away to the

school complex

after inviting Milicent to the pool party, Sophia burst into the scene with a giggle. "Hey, girl! What's going on?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

Milicent rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "Just discussing the pool party, Sophia."

Sophia's eyes narrowed. "Pool party? With Ray? Spill the tea, Milicent!"

Milicent chuckled. "There's nothing to spill, Sophia. Ray invited me to the party, that's all."

Sophia's grin turned mischievous. "Oh, sure, sure. You're just friends, right? He's treating you nicely, huh?"

Milicent blushed slightly. "Actually, Ray's been really kind to me. But let's not read too much into it."

Sophia's eyes sparkled with amusement. "I'm not buying it! You two are getting close. But I have to ask, what's the deal with you and Ray? Are you his...girlfriend?"

Milicent laughed. "No, Sophia I work for him

his mom hired me as his chef

Sophia raised an eyebrow. "His chef? That's a new one. But I don't believe you. You guys seem pretty cozy."

Milicent shrugged. "Honestly, Sophia, Ray wasn't always this nice to me. Initially, he didn't really like me."

Sophia's eyes widened in surprise. "Really? What changed?"

Milicent smiled. "I'm not entirely sure.

Sophia's expression turned thoughtful. "You know, I think I know why Ray might like you. You're different from the other girls in school. And honestly, I think he's a better catch ..

Milicent's eyes widened in surprise. "Really? Why's that?"

Sophia leaned in, a conspiratorial look on her face. "Ryder's just too arrogant for my taste. Ray's more down-to-earth, you know?"

Milicent nodded, intrigued by Sophia's insight. "I see what you mean. Maybe I'll get to know Ray better at the pool party."
