Chapter 26 - SS2 EP7

Present Mic:"Without further delay—welcome, everyone, to the UA Sports Festival Finals!!!On the left side, the boy many have dubbed 'Pocket-Sized All Might'—MIDORIYA IZUKUUUUUUU!!!"

(The crowd roars in excitement!)

Present Mic:"And on the other side! The purple-haired kid with the sticky skills and a level of perverseness that's definitely not PG-13!It's… MINETA MINORUUUUUU!!!"

(The arena goes awkwardly silent for a beat… before a half-hearted cheer rises.)

Midoriya and Mineta step into the arena, wearing expressions far more intense than their heights should allow.Midoriya makes the first move, dashing forward without hesitation. Mineta frantically hurls his sticky balls, but of course…Midoriya dodges them all with improved speed and control!

Present Mic:"Whoa, check it out, Eraser! Looks like Midoriya's got much better control over his power now!"

Aizawa:"Yeah… seems he can handle about 10% now."

(Several pro heroes nod in agreement—10% of that power is insane for a high school kid.)

Midoriya gradually builds speed before leaping forward and smashing his fist straight into Mineta's face with a resounding—

"SMASH!!"

Mineta goes flying into the wall like a ragdoll!

Midnight:"Mineta Minoru is out of bounds! The winner is—Midoriya Izuku!"

(The crowd explodes in cheers once again.)

The medical bots rush to carry Mineta away. And Kazuma? He wasn't cheering… wasn't even watching—he was stuck in the bathroom.

[On the other side of the stadium – Before the match begins]

All Might is on his way to grab a snack when he spots someone he hasn't seen in a long time…

All Might:"Hey! Long time no see, Endeavor. Want to grab a bite?"

Endeavor(snapping his head around, face scowling): "...All Might."

All Might:"Been ten years, huh? Since that one TV appearance—remember? Saw your face and thought I'd say hi."

Endeavor:"...I'm going to the bathroom. Get out of my way."

FWIP!All Might suddenly steps in front of him, blocking his path.

All Might:"Come on now, no need to be so distant…"

Endeavor:"…Tch."

All Might:"Your boy, Shoto… the moment he used his power—bam. One hit wonder. You taught him well to be that strong.Too bad… he ran into that Kazuma kid first."

Endeavor:"What are you trying to say, All Might?"

All Might:"Just curious about your tricks for teaching kids… you know, how to mentor the next generation and all."

Endeavor:"You think I'd actually teach you?"

He shoulder-checks All Might hard as he walks past—then stops and glances back.

Endeavor:"Remember this… that boy… one day, he'll surpass you. Because I made him to be that way."

All Might:"...!!"

Endeavor:"He might still be stubborn now… but one day, he'll rise above you with my hands guiding him."

All Might falls silent.

[Back to present time]

The sound of water hitting ceramic echoes softly.

Ryujin leans casually at the urinal, in no rush, mind empty except for waiting for his own match.

Then—heavy footsteps approach.

The door swings open, and with it, the air grows unnaturally hot.A massive man, looking like the charred remains of a burning trash heap, steps up to the urinal right next to him—despite there being three open ones further down.

"So, you're Ryujin Kazuma," the flame-headed giant says, fire crackling along his head, shoulders, and back.

Kazuma doesn't even look, just tilts his head with a faint smirk.

"Wow… I'm that famous already? What, you got trouble picking a urinal or something?"

The man says nothing, but the fire flares louder.

"No matter what you do, Shoto will beat you. Give up now—you'll never defeat my son."

Now Kazuma knows exactly who this bastard is.

He chuckles lightly, zips up, takes a step back, and faces him fully.

Kazuma:"Wow… can't believe a piece of shit like you can speak so proudly about his own kid."Kazuma:"You're the reason Shoto turned out like he did—a kid too scared to laugh, to cry, to love—because he's terrified of becoming like you.A monster who burns everything until nothing's left."

Endeavor's jaw tightens, a vein throbbing on his temple. Flames erupt around his hands.

"Listen, brat… I've crippled more people than I can count. Keep talking, and I'll make sure you never walk again."

Kazuma lets out a low, mocking laugh, scratching the back of his neck.

Kazuma:"Oh? Is that a threat? Or are you just used to talking like that to your wife?"Kazuma:"Your flames? They can only burn skin. But the curse you left on a kid you tortured every day? That burns straight to the bone.Shoto grew up with nightmares—and those nightmares are named 'Dad.'"

Endeavor's whole body trembles, fists clenched so hard his nails dig into his palms. The flames roar.

Kazuma pulls out a stick of gum, starts chewing, then takes a lighter from his pocket and flicks it open and shut.

Kazuma:"Wanna know what's hotter—your flames, or this cheap lighter I just bought?"

He lights it and holds it up.

Kazuma:"At least this can light a cigarette.Unlike a certain asshole dad who only knows how to burn his family to ashes."

Before Endeavor can respond, an unnatural chill sweeps through the bathroom.

Kazuma grins, turns his back, and strolls away without a care.

Endeavor grits his teeth, shouting after him:"The day you break the law—I'll be the first to burn you alive!"

Kazuma stops, walks back a few steps, and raises his hand.

"Here's your law."He flips him the middle finger.

"My law. What are you gonna do about it?"

Then he walks out, leaving behind only silence… and the stench of humiliation clinging to the No.1 Hero who'd just been roasted by a kid—right in front of a urinal

Screams from the female students and the murmurs of the crowd roared through the stadium. Present Mic's booming voice nearly drowned out the pounding hearts of the contestants.

"Alright, everybodyyyyyy! It's time to FIGHT!!! On the left—our crazy daredevil from Class 1-A!! The one who tore through both robots and classmates like paper—he is… RYŌJIN KAZUMA!!!"

The applause was scattered. Some stayed silent, others swallowed hard, a few lifted their phones to record—because they knew the man stepping onto the stage wasn't your ordinary hero. He looked more like a madman wearing a U.A. uniform just to fool people.

Ryōjin walked up lazily, yawning wide. One hand scratched his head, the other gave the crowd a half-hearted wave.

"And on the right! From the same class but a whole different world! The lightning boy who once froze the entire field—he is… KAMINARI DENKI!!"

Kaminari stepped up looking uneasy, beads of sweat clinging to his forehead. He knew this wasn't just about "strength." The guy in front of him was downright terrifying.

"H-hey, boss… go easy, yeah?" Kaminari stammered, barely able to meet his eyes.

"Gotta go all out, man," Ryōjin grinned. His eyes lit up with a hunger for battle. Even his casual words carried enough pressure to freeze Kaminari in place for half a second.

"BEGIN!!!"

FWOOOSH!A burst of wind split the air before anyone even saw Kaminari charge up.

THUD!!!

Kaminari's body was sent flying as if a whole gas tank had been hurled at him.

Ryōjin had dashed forward faster than normal eyes could track, delivering a brutal kick to Kaminari's face.

Blood spurted from his mouth like a fountain, his body skidding across the arena floor until it stopped at the edge.

The audience was frozen—Some gasped,Some screamed,Some were simply struck dumb.

"Wha—just one hit?!" Midoriya shouted from the stands."Kazuma didn't even use his Quirk!!" Uraraka blurted out.

On stage, Ryōjin merely walked slowly toward Kaminari, who lay barely breathing.

Ryōjin: "That's it? Already knocked out?"

He sighed, glancing at the referee and lazily waving his hand.

Ryōjin: "Well, that's a KO, right? Rules say I win, yeah? …Or do you want me to wake him up so I can hit him again?"

The referee went pale. Even Present Mic was momentarily speechless before forcing himself to announce:

"Th-th-the winner is… RYŌJIN KAZUMA!!!"

A heavy silence fell over the stadium.

Kaminari lay unconscious on the floor, blood trickling from his lips, his eyes shut—not even a hint of resistance in them.

He hadn't fired a single bolt of lightning. He hadn't taken a fighting stance. He hadn't even tried to run.

He'd been knocked out before he could make a single move.

Present Mic's voice faded right after declaring the result, but the crowd's roar soon filled the air.

"…That was insane," Kirishima muttered to himself."Kazuma… didn't even use his Quirk," Sero said quietly.

Ryōjin stood at the center of the stage, his expression utterly calm—like nothing had happened.

Ryōjin: "…Haaah."He exhaled lightly, then crouched to lift Kaminari onto his back—casually, like a friend helping another back to his room. But with those cold eyes, it didn't look anything like friendship.

Ryōjin: "Sorry, but… you shouldn't step into this arena if your power needs charging. There's no place here for people who just want to pose."

He said this while taking long, heavy strides, carrying Kaminari down the stage in full view of everyone.

He entered with the unconscious Kaminari on his back, then let him drop onto a bed—not roughly, but without ceremony.

Even though the medical droids could've handled it, he had insisted on delivering his "little underling" to safety himself.

THUD!

The door swung open with a loud BANG!

"Throwing him like that—how's he supposed to recover, huh?!"Recovery Girl's voice boomed as she grabbed her cane and—

SMACK!

The cane whacked Kazuma's head with a crack that echoed through the room.

"Not only did you knock your friend out cold in the middle of the arena, but you've got the nerve to just stroll in here looking smug?!"

Ryojin stood there silently, adjusting his head back into place before giving a small shrug.

"Come on, old lady, I carried him all the way here, didn't I—"

SMACK!Another hit, even louder than the first.

"…Yes, ma'am," he replied meekly.

Meanwhile, Midoriya was scribbling down notes on Ryojin like a man possessed, sending shivers down the spines of the people around him. He recorded every single move like some kind of living data logger.

(The Iida vs. Mei and Uraraka vs. Bakugo matches? Let's skip those—you can probably guess how they went.)

While the others fought, Ryojin lounged casually in the stands, flanked on either side by Momo and Mina.Every so often, Momo would swat his arm out of annoyance, or Mina would poke fun at him—but he seemed to enjoy it.

During the break, Kaminari—his head wrapped in layers of bandages—walked over with teary eyes and a trembling voice.

"Why'd you have to hit me so hard, boss…?"

Ryojin could only apologize, patting him like one would comfort a little kid.

Jirou joined in, laughing at Kaminari before teasing him even more, and honestly, the two of them seemed like a good match.Ryojin teased them about it, which instantly soured Jirou's mood—she jabbed her earphone jack straight into his ribs, making him yelp,"OW, for crying out loud!"

Before the pain could even fade, Momo called him back to his seat—her tone like she was commanding a dog.Strangely enough, Ryojin just grinned wide.

"Anything for you, my love. I don't mind being your dog~"He leaned his head against her shoulder… only to get smacked in the head again.

And yes—he still didn't learn, because he immediately leaned on Mina next.Result: another smack from the other side.

Painful life? Sure. But somehow, he seemed to enjoy it.

In the Shouji vs. Kirishima match, Shouji initially had the upper hand with his ability to transform his arms into multiple giant fists, attacking from different angles. But in the end, Kirishima's sheer power and endurance won the day.

As for Mina vs. Tooru, even though Tooru had a new move called Flash Burst, it wasn't enough to pressure Mina. After all, Mina was visibly stronger and more athletic, and the match ended with Tooru's narrow defeat.

In Momo's round, she tried to create items to counterattack—but Tokoyami reacted faster than she expected. She switched to purely defending with a shield, but eventually got pushed out of the ring.

The look on her face said it all—she was deeply disappointed.

Ryojin saw it but didn't say a word.He simply stood up, told the friend next to him with an expressionless face,"I've got something to take care of,"

…and walked away quietly, but with clear intent

Staff Room

Momo sat alone, hugging her knees in the corner of the room.

"Momo-chan!!" Ryujin appeared at the doorway.

"Ryo…" Momo looked up, her voice trembling.

"What's wrong… Why are you—" Before she could finish, he stepped forward and wrapped her in a tight embrace, his hand gently stroking her hair.

"Let it out. I'll listen…" he whispered.

And so, Momo let her tears flow freely, without shame.

She kept muttering how useless she was—How she couldn't do anything right. How, despite being a recommended student, her performance was still far behind Todoroki's.How she never once felt strong.

Kazuma didn't say a word. He simply held her close, his hand slowly rubbing her back, letting her vent everything inside.

When she finally began to calm down, he spoke—firm and unwavering.

Ryujin: "Don't give up."

He looked deep into her eyes, his playful spark gone completely—replaced by the gaze of a man who had seen death, loss, and the darkest corners of life far too many times.

"True strength isn't about overpowering others. It's not about being smarter than everyone else. And it's not about shouting to the world how great you are."

His gaze didn't waver.

"It's about your heart—whether you choose to keep moving forward or not."

"Will you give up here, drowning in your tears? Or will you stand up again, face your own mistakes, and keep going?"

"Can you let go of your losses so you can fight again? That… is true strength."

His voice was deep, yet filled with quiet power.

"No matter how broken or beaten you are, I'll be there—for you, Momo. I know I'm a terrible person, maybe even a bad man… But there's one thing I'm sure of—Don't you dare give up!"

His words cut straight into her heart, into her very soul.

"Fail a hundred times? So what! Be as foolish as you want—it's still a lesson. At least you didn't come back empty-handed. Cry as much as you need to. Some losses might be unbearable, but they're just part of the road. There's only one thing I'll ever ask—Don't. Give. Up."

"No matter how cruel or rotten your path becomes, as long as you don't give up, it's not over. Even if you have to crawl, you keep going until you reach your goal."

"And one day, when no wall can stand in your way, you'll be standing in the place of victory. That's when you'll realize—it was worth it, every single step you refused to quit."

He stood, smiling wide at her.

"Alright, time to get up. Now go and give my butt a pat, my beloved." He reached his hand out to her.

Momo looked at him and smiled, her tears momentarily gone. She took his hand.

"Never thought my boyfriend had words like that in him…" she murmured, before pulling him into a fierce kiss.

At that exact moment, Mina and Jirō opened the door, curious about what had happened—only to be greeted by the sight of Momo kissing Ryujin.

"Ah!! Sorry, sorry!" Mina's face flushed bright red—only for Ryujin to grab her and kiss her too, leaving her frozen in shock. Jirō's face turned crimson as she immediately averted her gaze, unable to look at the scene.

But it didn't end there…

Someone else had been standing just outside—Todoroki.

He hadn't meant to eavesdrop, but Ryujin's voice had carried through the door. And every word he heard… struck something deep inside him.

Todoroki glanced down at his left hand.

Ryujin's voice echoed in his mind:

"Your power isn't your father's.""It's about your heart—whether you choose to keep moving forward or not."

He fell silent, then clenched his fist.

Todoroki (thought):Maybe… Kazuma's right.

Todoroki (thought):Maybe it's time I moved forward too.

Maybe… Kazuma wasn't just some reckless idiot like he'd thought.

He wanted to know what the other man had been through—No, he wanted to know Kazuma himself.

But for now… that could wait.

The next round of the competition was about to begin

(Author's Note: I'll skip the Midoriya vs. Todoroki match, since everyone already knows the outcome—Midoriya inspires Todoroki to use his flames again. Not that I'm avoiding it… I'm just lazy.)

Present Mic:"Next up is the second match! Let's hear some noise!!!"

The roar of the crowd erupted like a thunderclap, echoing across the stadium. Drums pounded, voices shouted, and the energy surged like a storm of anticipation and excitement.

Present Mic:"On the left side… the young man infamous for his crazy, reckless style! Will he snatch another victory today!? Give it up for… Ryujin Kazuma!!!"

The audience erupted into a frenzy. Ryujin stepped onto the stage at an unhurried pace—nothing about his walk screamed "student." It was the gait of a street punk, hands buried in his pockets, one eyebrow arched in defiance, and a wide grin spreading across his face—like a rabid dog hungry for blood.

Present Mic:"And on the other side… he may be called a walking advertisement, but no one dares underestimate his speed! … Tenya Iida!! From Class 1-A!!"

The cheers rose to match the previous roar. Iida strode up to the arena with a composed yet powerful presence, bowing respectfully toward Kazuma in true sportsmanlike fashion.

Kazuma stared at him for a moment before chuckling quietly and returning the bow.

Kazuma: "If I didn't, you'd just complain and karate-chop me again."

Iida: "At the very least, give some respect before you start running!"

Midnight:"Begin!!!"

Her voice rang out across the arena.

Iida shot from the starting point like a bullet, closing in on Ryujin with staggering speed.

Ryujin twisted his body aside, dodging by a hair's breadth. His eyes widened in apparent surprise...though the shock was nothing but an act.

"Whoa! That's brutal! You planning to take off flying or something?!"he shouted mockingly, backpedaling like a clueless student facing a sprinter for the first time.

But in the very next split second—the sound of metal ripped through the air.

Bang!

A black, coffin-like construct materialized right in front of Iida. In Ryujin's hand was a sleek butterfly gun.He fired. The crack of the shot echoed through the stadium.

"Ah, my bad… thought you were a real enemy for a sec,"Ryujin said with a grin, spinning the gun around his finger with zero remorse.

Iida narrowly evaded the bullet and charged again, his speed so great it blurred. It looked like he'd reach Ryujin for a second strike—

But Ryujin… smiled.

It wasn't the smile of a normal person. It was wide, unhinged—feral.

Ryujin:"Fast, huh…"he murmured, voice low and dark, like a demon whispering from the shadows."…but I'm faster, glasses-boy."

His fist smashed into Iida's ribs before the boy could react. The thud was like a baseball bat slamming into a watermelon.

Iida's eyes went wide—pain and shock flooding his face.

Tenya:"No way… you—"

"Just a little fake-out, don't overthink it!"Ryujin laughed, his voice carrying across the arena.

Iida stumbled back, trying to reset his stance, already preparing his ultimate move—

But he was a second too late.

Ryujin blurred forward, his speed skill leaving only a dark streak across the ground. He reached Iida before the technique could finish charging and unleashed a flurry of punches straight to his face.

Bang! Bang! Bang! BANGGG!!!

Iida's glasses shattered.Bone met fist in brutal rhythm.Blood sprayed, splattering across Ryujin's face.

Midnight:"Kazuma wins!!"

As the referee's voice rang out, Ryujin walked toward the arena's edge—one hand in his pocket, the other twirling his gun like a toy.He was still smiling.

Medical robots rushed in the moment the knockout was confirmed. Tenya Iida was quickly taken away, his face a bloody mess that wouldn't stop pouring.

Students from both Class A and B—who once believed he was the fastest of their year—were left in stunned silence.None of them had imagined…

…he'd be beaten to a pulp like this.

Murmurs rippled through the stands. Some whispered it was too much.Others stayed quiet… knowing full well—he hadn't even gone all out.

Ryujin just smiled and shrugged, unconcerned.

"Hey, didn't they say 'go all out'? Well…" he muttered as he strolled back to the waiting area."You lot go all out with your quirks—me, I go all out with my fists."

Next match — the clash of two best friends…Bakugo vs. Kirishima

The arena erupted into chaos from the very first second.Bakugo's explosions roared across the battlefield, shaking the ground, while Kirishima met him head-on—his body hard as stone—clashing against the explosive flames without backing down.

But in the end… the Walking Grenade's raw power claimed victory.

Mina Ashido vs. Tokoyami

One was a girl brimming with life, the other, a shadow given form.Mina launched her attacks with creativity—acid spraying in sharp arcs, her agile movements keeping her opponent guessing. But Tokoyami's shadow… it was enough to swallow the stage whole.

Eventually, Mina was pushed out of bounds. The referee's call was swift—defeat.Tokoyami stood calm in victory. The applause was modest… yet no one could forget what they'd just witnessed.

And then—

He stood once more on the stage.Cheers thundered from all around, sunlight gleaming off the sweat on his back.Muscles tensed, every nerve alive with hunger. And before him… was the stone-faced dual-element prodigy—Shoto Todoroki.

"Welcome to the first semifinal match!!!"Present Mic bellowed as if tomorrow would never come."On the left! The man whose smile alone can crush the entire arena—Ryujin Kazuma!!"

The crowd exploded with roars. But before it even settled—

"And on the right! The boy of both ice and fire! Heart-throb of the—"

CRACK!The sound of a neck lock from Aizawa was almost as loud as Present Mic's soul leaving his body."Shut it already, idiot…"

Midnight stepped out to the center of the ring, her black hair flowing in the wind.

"Are both of you ready?"

He didn't answer—only raised an eyebrow slightly.

And in a flash—

"Begin!"

FWOOOSH!!!

A massive wall of ice surged straight toward him.It wasn't a serene snowfall—it was a killing wall.

He didn't retreat. His hand summoned his Quirk—

Bang! Bang! Bang! The bullets shattered through, chunks of ice exploding into shards. He burst through the debris, a faint laugh rumbling in his throat.

"Is that all you've got… Ice Prince?"

Todoroki began to react faster.Flames burst from his left palm, erupting like a volcano buried beneath snow.In that instant, Ryujin knew—Todoroki wasn't going to rely on ice alone anymore.

But Ryujin didn't reach for his gun, either.Instead, he unleashed his Quirk—The Ring Pointillist Student.

Fwoosh…From the thin air, a spear tipped like a paintbrush emerged—as if born from thought, artistry, and death woven into one.

The entire stadium froze in awe.Even Aizawa narrowed his eyes."What is that…?"

Midoriya, meanwhile, was scribbling in his notebook faster than someone about to get blown up.

"Oi! Todoroki! You're still using your dad's fire, huh!?"Ryujin's voice cut through the chaos as he weaved past attacks.

"Or is it because you're scared—scared that if you use too much of it, your old man might actually be proud of you, hmm?"

The crowd erupted in gasps and laughter. The stadium cameras zoomed in on Todoroki's face—it was starting to pale.

"Listen up, everyone!! This guy—he once peeked on a girl in the bath!!"

The words echoed across the arena.

"And he even stole her underwear!! So stop pretending to be some tragic hero, Todoroki!!"

Midoriya's pen stopped dead mid-stroke.

"WHAT!?"

Todoroki froze, stunned by the accusation. The fire in his hand wavered, ice forming chaotically along his arm.His concentration was splintering—like glass breaking one crack at a time.

Ryujin moved in.Flames surged along the spear's tip—Fire Blade—flowing like ink writing a deadly curse.

The ice melted.Todoroki stumbled back.

"You know what else I heard? …"Ryujin's grin widened."...You still wet the bed!"

The arena exploded into howls of shock and laughter.Todoroki's face turned crimson, fire erupting wildly in every direction. His focus was gone—completely.

The chance was here.Ryujin charged, fist clenched tight. The air crackled with static.

Pakk!!His punch slammed into Todoroki's face.Blood sprayed.Todoroki crumpled to the ground.

Ryujin stood over him, the spear's tip at his throat… but he didn't strike.

"I don't kill crybabies.""Not worth the effort."

Midnight:"Shoto Todoroki is unconscious—Ryujin Kazuma is the winner!"

The stadium erupted into thunderous cheers.

At The Thumb headquartersThe clones erupted into cheers so wild that the tables nearly collapsed.

"Kill that bastard!!" someone roared.

Others shouted over the chaos:"Wait—did he really steal underwear!?""No idea! But it's hilarious, so who cares!"

In the end,Ryujin stood alone in the arena, with nothing but the wind's whisperand the faint scent of sweat and burned air around him.

He turned his back to the crowd, murmuring to himself—

"Next one… prepare to die."

The audience was electric, buzzing with excitement from the spectacular fight.Cheers rolled like thunder across the stadium. Many students had given strong performances, but the name shouted most loudly… was Ryujin Kazuma.

From the stands, he caught sight of Bakugo—who looked far from pleased. And that was no surprise. If Bakugo made it to the final,it would become a grudge match between the two of them.

When the match ended,Ryujin strolled back to his seat with no rush in his step.Several classmates came to congratulate him.Midoriya, unable to contain his curiosity, asked about the strange power he'd used.

Ryujin brushed it off with a flick of his hand, his tone as uninterested as ever.

"I wanna sleep."

That was all he said before slumping forward, face down on his arms, shutting the world out completely.

Before drifting off, he asked Momo to wake him later. She nodded with a soft smile.

The next match began—Bakugo vs. Tokoyami.

And, as many had predicted,Tokoyami's Dark Shadow weakened under the harsh spotlights flooding the arena. When faced with Bakugo's explosive barrage, the flaw became glaringly obvious.

Bakugo claimed victory with ease.

He turned toward Class A's section, his gaze sharp as a knife—and it was obvious who that glare was meant for.

Ryujin Kazuma.

Bakugo's killing intent practically seeped into the air,but unfortunately for him…Ryujin was fast asleep.

Deep asleep.Drooling onto his sleeve.

The rest of Class A could feel the pressure instead—Midoriya, Tsuyu, Toru, and several others glanced at Ryujin in concern.

But all they saw was a guy sleeping so comfortablyhe could've been in his own bed at home. Not a twitch. Not even a flicker of an eyelid.

Everyone just sighed. Some gave awkward smiles. The tension that had been building moments ago simply vanished.

They'd thought Ryujin had been watching the match intently—but in truth…he'd been out cold the whole time.

Time passed until it was finally time for the last battle.

Present Mic's voice thundered through the speakers:"And now, everyone, we've reached the final round!!!!!!"

The crowd roared in excitement, hungry to witness blood and sweat on the stage.

"Who will be the champion?! Who will claim the top spot at UA this year?! ARE YOU READY?!!!"

Final match: Ryujin Kazuma vs. Katsuki Bakugo

Students from both Class A and B were buzzing with anticipation. The arena fell silent for a brief moment, only to erupt once more in a deafening roar.

On the stage, Ryujin Kazuma stared down Bakugo.A sly, teasing smile spread across his lips, his sharp eyes sweeping Bakugo with mockery.

Bakugo, in contrast, was even more serious than before. His eyes blazing with hatred, vengeance, and a pressure that seemed ready to explode at any moment.

"Alright, alright… looks like these two are finally ready to fight seriously. Then… BEGIN!!!"

BOOM!

Bakugo lunged at Ryujin with blazing speed, constantly using his Explosion Quirk to boost his momentum.

Ryujin readied a kick to counterattack, but Bakugo exploded and dodged sideways with expert precision.

Ryujin had already expected Bakugo wouldn't be easy to handle. He summoned his spear with his Quirk—the The Ring Pointillist Student. The colors on the tip seemed to seep into the ground, releasing a mist resembling ink—but in a shade of deep red, almost black.

Bakugo didn't hesitate. He exploded forward, colliding directly.Ryujin swung his spear, striking Bakugo's hand so hard it flew into the air, while shifting gravity with it.

Immediately, he swung his other leg to kick Bakugo again—but Bakugo exploded himself away to evade.

Bakugo retreated, then charged once more.Ryujin dashed forward using his skill, reached Bakugo first, and stabbed with his spear again.

Bakugo narrowly dodged, but Ryujin's knee came crashing close.Bakugo exploded the ground beneath him, launching himself back—sending dust clouds swirling across the arena.

The crowd fell silent. The dust obscured all movement.Students from both classes sat on edge, as if sensing what was about to happen.

Then…

His entire body changed completely.

Gone was the sports uniform. In its place was something unnatural—fabric twisted like shards from another world. His eyes were tightly shut beneath a black membrane.A purple energy blade flowed from his hand.

"It's time to end the game."His voice was cold, flat, but echoed like a curse.

In the blink of an eye, he vanished. No sound. No movement. All eyes darted around, searching for the source of the fading purple light.

Suddenly, he appeared behind Bakugo, slashing fiercely into his back.

Before Bakugo could explode back in defense,Ryujin struck both his arms repeatedly. The screams of agony were almost unbearable.

Finally, the blade pierced Bakugo's right leg, sending blood spraying in streams.Bakugo collapsed to his knees, weakened.

Ryujin deactivated his power, then used his foot to lightly tap Bakugo's face—Bakugo instantly passed out

After Bakugo's defeat in front of everyone's eyes, and after he finished tending to his wounds,

all the first-year students gathered in the stadium for the closing ceremony of the Sports Festival.Amidst the relentless clicking of camera shutters, journalists competed to capture the important moments for the live broadcast.

Ryujin stood proudly on the first-place podium, while Bakugo quietly stood on the second—so silent that whispers started to spread around him.

It was a surprising sight, because this was the guy who never allowed anyone to be above him.Yet now, he was calm, showing neither anger nor resistance.

Todoroki and Tokoyami shared third place. Both had made it to the semifinals and demonstrated incredible potential on par with anyone.

Midnight announced:"All right! It's time to present the medals! And of course, the person who will award the medals to our future heroes must be—!"

A powerful laugh echoed through the stadium.

All eyes snapped toward the sound, and there floated All Might, hovering above the stage before leaping down like Superman, landing gracefully before them all.

All Might:"I'm here to present the medals!!"

Cheers erupted, mixed with laughter—some clapped, some shouted, all thrilled to see him.

Midnight:"Let's give a big round of applause for our Number One Hero—All Might!"

Then the medal ceremony began.

Two bronze medals were handed to Todoroki and Tokoyami. All Might presented Todoroki's medal first, placing a hand firmly on his shoulder.

All Might:"Todoroki, young man... I know the burden you carry. You are brave to face yourself. Congratulations."

Todoroki:"…I used to hate part of myself, but Midoriya's and Kazuma's words made me realize something.I don't want to be a hero who runs away from the past.I want to be someone who confronts it—and truly accepts it."

All Might smiled softly, then pulled him into a brief hug and whispered:

All Might:"I won't ask anything... but if you ever need support—know that I'm here."

Then he turned to Tokoyami and spoke firmly:

All Might:"Tokoyami, young man... you possess a power deeper than anyone understands.Don't let the darkness consume you.Control it, and you will become a great hero."

Tokoyami nodded silently, then whispered:

Tokoyami:"Thank you, All Might… I won't stop here."

Next, All Might approached Bakugo, who remained unusually still.

All Might:"You may not have won first place, but the world has seen you, Bakugo. You are an explosion yet to fully detonate.Don't stop moving forward…"

Bakugo sneered:"Hmph, don't talk like I'm satisfied with this.I'll surpass you—not just you, but you too, Kazuma!"

Ryujin smiled at Bakugo—not a mocking smile, but one that said,"Well, then, let's see about that."

And then… All Might stopped in front of Ryujin, holding a gold medal.

All Might:"Last but not least... Kazuma, young man!Today you've shown everyone that you are the real deal.No one could defeat you on this field. You are the idol of the new generation—not because you are the strongest, but because you fight without fear."

Kazuma:"Well... I wasn't expecting to get first place, but if I do, it's not too bad."

He shrugged casually. All Might laughed heartily and hugged him tight.

After the ceremony ended, we took group photos.Ryujin took selfies with Momo and Mina—the picture became wallpapers, lock screens, and home screens on their phones.

Momo set her lock screen as the photo from our first date, while Mina's was the one where I held her tight at the amusement park during our date.

Kaminari:"Hey, boss! Let's take a group photo!"

We laughed and walked over to the photo spot surrounded by all first-year students. The four winners stood in the center, everyone else gathered around like we were the center of the universe.Even Aizawa was pulled in—though he muttered complaints,Ryujin noticed a small smirk beneath his scarf.

He glanced at Momo and Mina laughing quietly at him.Ryujin just smiled, pulling them close at the waist, and we posed for the camera in perfect sync.

A flash went off—capturing this moment forever

The image in front of them was displayed on the small screen of the digital camera. The sound of the shutter hadn't even faded before the girls around them were already screaming with excitement — Mina making a playful face in the photo, and Momo giving a small, natural smile. Everyone looked happy, the exhaustion from the competition barely visible.

Ryujin carefully took the printed photo and studied it, his eyes scanning the faces of all his friends. Each expression was honest, natural, without any masks. It was a rare moment when everyone laid down their weapons, their goals, and their dreams, and simply just were high school kids.

Momo's hand quietly grasped the hem of his shirt, while Mina leaned in close, the soft scent of shampoo brushing against his nose — both smiling unconsciously. He kept this picture in his heart with a feeling that was hard to put into words.

"I hope moments like this last forever…"

He whispered quietly inside, like a silent prayer to something unseen.

Laughter still echoed around them, but in his mind, it began to fade away, as if the world itself had stopped spinning to let him hold on to every single second tightly.

Because in this cruel world — where heroes must choose between what is right and what is necessary — no one can ever know what "tomorrow" will bring.

But for now… right now, it was today.

The day sunlight touched their faces. The day they were still together.

The day one simple photo became a word without words: family.
