Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: He’s Practically Superman

The basic information about the plants was formed based on Lin Qianyi's understanding of them.

Like the plant entries themselves, they were all influenced by external perceptions.

After planting new roots, Lin Qianyi used the harvested Sea God Grass with the attribute [Restoration Enhancement] to craft twenty Poseidon Pills.

Compared to Su Mandong's versions, his Poseidon Pills were slightly larger and more potent.

While training, Lin Qianyi could feel the tearing pain in his muscles being repaired in about ten seconds.

The [Restoration Enhancement] effect was seriously impressive.

He saved five of the stronger Poseidon Pills for emergencies and consumed the rest himself.

In just three days, he managed to push his practice of the "Three Treasures Auspicious Routine" to 40 movements.

At this stage, Lin Qianyi estimated his interference value to be around seventy-seven (77).

That was getting very close to the theoretical physical limit of a human body.

As for the final eight movements, he figured even with unlimited Poseidon Pills, it would still take twenty to thirty days to complete.

Those final three points of interference value were the hardest to improve.

It's the classic case of diminishing returns each gain now required an extreme breakthrough.

But the benefit of each point was also massive.

Reality wasn't like a typical video game where stats were just numbers sometimes, a single point could mean the difference between worlds.

Just like the difference between a 100-meter sprint in 10 seconds versus 9 seconds.

To an outsider, it's just one second a blink of an eye.

But in reality, it's a massive leap.

In combat, even without any buffs or enhancements, someone with an interference value of 80 would easily defeat someone with 79 in every match.

That's how huge the difference was almost unimaginable.

Lin Qianyi moved his body on the spot, and guessed his single-arm lifting power had surpassed 100kg and it was effortless.

While doing dumbbell curls might be a stretch, he could likely manage a set.

Though he didn't look much different on the outside, his muscle cell density had greatly increased.

He had improvements across the board: explosive strength, reaction speed, stamina, focus, and resistance to impacts.

With a slight leap, he could jump over three meters high, and when landing, his knees just bent slightly, his muscles absorbing the impact silently just like a cat.

He could probably run a sub-9-second 100m sprint now.

Even cliffs and steep terrain Lin Qianyi felt like he could walk on them as if on level ground.

He pressed a single finger into the ground and lifted his body into a handstand, holding the position for twenty seconds before falling.

In terms of physical fitness, he'd be a one-man army in a cold weapons era, even while wearing full armor.

The Federation's theoretical physical limit was different from the conventional one.

It was essentially a forced awakening of the body's potential via the "Three Treasures Auspicious Routine."

After working out, Lin Qianyi exhaled hot air.

Even in the cool morning air at least ten degrees Celsius his breath was still visibly steaming.

Now, he wanted to do one thing:

Catch the goat that escaped right under his nose last time.

So he decided and acted.

He took Zhou Hong with him and ventured into the deeper part of the island.

Lin Qianyi walked effortlessly the entire way.

With his current physical stats, his stamina had more than doubled after a good meal.

The island wasn't large, and soon they spotted the herd of goats.

Thirteen in total four small, nine adult ones.

They were lazily grazing near a cliff, about 400 meters away.

Under normal conditions, trying to catch one would be a fantasy.

But Lin Qianyi wanted to try.

He took off his backpack, strapped his foldable sword on his back, and told Zhou Hong:

"Zhou-ge, stay here and don't move. I'll be right back."

"Be careful. If you can't catch one, it's fine," Zhou Hong replied.

They had been eating fish for so long they were eager for a change in taste.

But these goats weren't easy to catch they lived deep in the island, where traps were hard to set up.

Catching them manually? Impossible.

But Lin Qianyi was about to do the impossible.

He crawled forward quietly, barely making a sound apart from the rustle of grass.

Soon, he was within 100 meters.

Then 80 meters… 50… 30…

One goat finally noticed and bleated a warning.

But they still weren't too alarmed they had no natural predators here.

When Lin Qianyi moved closer, they started to retreat heading toward the steep cliff.

Then Lin Qianyi burst into action like a cheetah, charging toward a goat.

"Baa~!"

The goats casually made their way up the cliff, using tiny protrusions to climb steadily.

Normally, any predator would have given up.

But this wasn't a normal situation.

Lin Qianyi grabbed at every little outcropping with his fingers easily leveraging them even on the cliff.

His school had a climbing wall where he ranked 7th among all students he had some skill.

And now with his improved stats, climbing was almost effortless.

He climbed faster than the goats.

In an instant, he was next to one.

Without a word, his right hand held a grip, his left hand flicked the rope-wrapped foldable sword activating the blade and stabbed forward.

"Splat~!"

The sword pierced its neck.

The goat let out a cry and collapsed.

Lin Qianyi caught it with one hand.

Then, one hand holding the goat, the other climbing, he leaped across to a different section, pushed off a rock, and landed back on flat ground within moments.

Zhou Hong watched the entire scene, jaw wide open.

Even when Lin Qianyi walked back, Zhou couldn't close his mouth.

"He's practically Superman!"

That's what he truly wanted to say.

In fact, with Lin Qianyi's current stats, "mini Superman" wouldn't be an exaggeration.

Even in sci-fi or wuxia movies with superhuman protagonists, most couldn't do what he just did.

Entertainment relies on imagination and logic but in real life, stats change everything.

Even Captain America would have to call him "Little Lin Qianyi."

Back at Zhou Hong's side, Lin casually dropped the goat into the basket, didn't even draw the sword worried it'd bleed too much.

The goat was still trembling slightly very much alive.

"Let's go. We're eating well today," Lin Qianyi said.

"Oh, okay!" Zhou Hong nodded, still stunned.

He couldn't wrap his head around what just happened.

On a sheer cliff, Lin ran faster than a goat, killed one with a single hand, and then climbed back up holding a goat all with ease.

His worldview had just been flipped.

If Lin Qianyi knew what Zhou was thinking, he'd probably say,

"That's nothing."

The school's climbing wall was even steeper and had fewer footholds yet he still climbed it.

That wall had room for mistakes this cliff didn't.

But even here, a misstep would only mean a few bruises.

He figured with slight slopes, his fingers could always find a grip.

Worst case partial fall.

With his current body, falling from 6–7 meters was nothing.

Ten meters? A bit of strain.

Over 15? Maybe an injury.

That cliff looked scary, but it wasn't dangerous to him.

And he still had Poseidon Pills for healing if needed.

---

When Lin Qianyi and Zhou Hong returned to camp with the goat, everyone was stunned.

"How did you do it?" Su Mandong asked curiously.

"Just ran up and stabbed it," Lin Qianyi replied with a smile.

He Yanghui was speechless.

He'd opposed Lin wandering off, thinking he was just slacking that goat hunting was pointless.

Reality slapped him hard.

What else could he say now?

That night, they had roast lamb and lamb soup.

Surprisingly, the meat wasn't too gamey barely noticeable unless you focused.

Lin even made blood tofu with the lamb's blood.

"Burp~"

Su Mandong burped, gave Lin a suggestive look, and left the group to "wash up."

Lin followed shortly.

He Yanghui and Zhou Hong both got the message but said nothing.

Reina was still naive.

She noticed they were gone for a while and wanted to check but He Yanghui stopped her.

"They'll be fine. Lin has his sword with him," he said. "Probably just using the bathroom..."

"Is that so?" Reina asked, half believing.

---

Lin Qianyi had to admit lamb was indeed nourishing.

His energy was unusually vigorous.

Of course, part of it was also thanks to his dramatically improved physical condition.

Su Mandong had been shocked by Lin's... aggressive prowess.

Thankfully, he knew how to hold back.

"Xiao Yi, you're amazing. I really like you," Su Mandong whispered, cheek pressed against his chest.

Lin gave her a side glance and muttered emotionlessly,

"Hmph, women..."

"You still dare talk like that after I've got your 'tail' wrapped around my finger?" she teased playfully.

"What's the point of a sharp tongue if hmmph!"

Lin Qianyi tried to respond but was cut off

Turns out, a sharp tongue could be quite effective.
