Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Villagers of the Land of Rain

Through Uchiha Ryun's True Sight Eye, Tsunade's squad basically avoided the main forces of the Rain-nin.

Although they occasionally encountered small teams, with their numerical advantage, each time they crushed them effortlessly.

The Rain-nin squads couldn't even speak, let alone send out signal flares, before being swiftly killed by the Senju squad's shinobi.

Up to now, this thousand-man unit remained unharmed. Without the enemy even noticing, they arrived at a village in the Land of Rain.

Uchiha Ryun dismounted from Ryūichi's back and addressed the team, "Everyone has been marching for a day. There is a village ahead where you can rest. But let me be clear, we are Konoha-nin, shinobi of the Village Hidden in the Leaves, founded by the God of Shinobi, Hashirama Senju, a village built on love."

"Given this, after entering the village to rest, no one is allowed to cause trouble or disturb the ordinary citizens of Amegakure!" Uchiha Ryun's eyes gleamed.

"So I set these rules. Anyone who violates them will be executed without mercy! 1. Those who break into civilian homes will be killed. 2. Those who rob supplies will be killed. 3. Those who assault women will be killed. 4. Those who bully the weak will be killed. 5. Those who force transactions will be killed."

"These are the Five Kill Rules. I hope everyone remembers them. I don't want us to be comrades in the morning and enemies by night! Moreover, our unit must have discipline. We will not take a single needle or thread from the people! Understood?"

Uchiha Ryun's voice was firm and resounding. The Senju clansmen looked at each other.

Finally, Tsunade spoke first, "Understood!" Then the Senju clansmen loudly echoed, "Understood!"

Uchiha Ryun didn't mind. He guessed that some shinobi disagreed with these rules but only complied because of Tsunade, the Senju princess. But they didn't realize this was wisdom from another world.

"Now, everyone, follow me into the village! Walk lightly, move slowly!" Uchiha Ryun took the lead. As the battlefield commander, he naturally led from the front.

However, Tsunade, worried about him, stayed by his side. Entering the village, Uchiha Ryun looked around and noticed villagers peeking through windows and door cracks, too afraid to make a sound.

Uchiha Ryun then loudly announced, "Citizens of the Land of Rain, we are shinobi from Konoha Village. I know in your eyes, shinobi from major nations are ruthless killers. I won't deny that."

"But I can guarantee that our unit strictly follows discipline and will not harm civilians in the slightest. Right now, we only wish to rest for one night. Please rest assured, we will only sleep on the sides of the streets to recuperate, leaving the middle of the road open for villagers to pass."

"Please do not be afraid. If any shinobi commits wrongdoing, report it to me, and I will execute them on the spot!"

After speaking, Uchiha Ryun ordered the unit members to set up rain shelters by the roadside. The shinobi either leaned against the villagers' walls or lay directly on the ground. After marching for a day, walking nonstop with occasional battles, they were exhausted both physically and mentally.

Then, twenty shinobi were assigned to patrol, ensuring the unit's safety.

Seeing the Konoha-nin behave so orderly, the villagers of the Land of Rain were moved. In the past, shinobi lords would burn, kill, loot, and commit every evil imaginable. Why was this unit so disciplined today?

They couldn't believe it. That night, the Senju troops slept soundly, while the villagers felt uneasy, as if it were unreal.

They had experienced war before, but this was the first time they encountered such a unit, such a commander. They felt like they were dreaming.

Late at night, two Konoha-nin, covered in wounds, arrived at the village. They randomly picked a house and were about to break in to seek shelter when a patrolling Senju jonin shouted, "Hey! What are you doing? Which unit are you from?"

Instantly, the shout woke up about two hundred nearby shinobi, who drew their weapons and stared at the two wounded Konoha-nin.

"We're from Jiraiya's unit. After a big battle, we got separated from our squad. Seeing a village nearby, we thought we'd get some food," one of the Konoha-nin laughed.

"Yeah, yeah, brother, we just wanted some food. No need to be so serious!" the other one chuckled.

"Someone, tie them up!" The patrolling shinobi was none other than Ryūichi. He admired the commander wholeheartedly. Without him, their unit would have suffered many casualties. Now, shinobi from another squad were trying to break Ryun's rules. He didn't care whose unit they were from. First, capture them, then let Ryun handle it!

"What are you doing? We're comrades from the same village!" One of them activated his Sharingan, a two-tomoe, and held a kunai, glaring at the Senju shinobi.

"Are you Senju still holding grudges against us Uchiha?" The other Uchiha also activated his Sharingan, a one-tomoe.

"Hmph! You break into civilian homes and still resist?" Ryūichi used the Senju clan's martial art, the Painful Sky Kick, instantly knocking out the two-tomoe Uchiha. Then, with a Mountain Crusher elbow strike, he slammed the one-tomoe Uchiha to the ground.

Other shinobi stepped forward and tied them up. Inside the door, a red-haired child watched the scene unfold, his eyes wide in disbelief.

Konoha shinobi… protected us?

The nearby villagers also peeked through windows or door cracks. Seeing this, they felt an indescribable joy.

Uchiha Ryun was under a roof eave, thinking about how to deal with Hanzo the Salamander. After all, this was a Kage-level powerhouse, hailed as the "Demigod," a title not given lightly.

True, he couldn't compare to Hashirama Senju or Tobirama Senju, the true God of Shinobi and the Shinobi of Unmatched Speed. But in this era, his overall strength made the title "Demigod" well-deserved.

The Land of Rain's declaration of war against the Land of Wind, Land of Fire, and Land of Earth had three main reasons. First, within the Land of Rain, various factions vied for influence. To expand his own power and become the true leader of Amegakure, Hanzo chose to declare war on the three great nations. Regardless of the outcome, he wanted to show everyone that he was the one who could lead Amegakure!

Second, every time major nations fought, the battlefield was always in small villages like theirs, causing immense suffering and impoverishment. This war had to happen. Even if they couldn't win, they had to tell the world that the Land of Rain would not be bullied!

Third, due to resource scarcity, war was the best way to divert internal shortages. By plundering, they could make the Land of Rain stronger and wealthier.

But he didn't expect that within a week of his declaration, Konoha, Iwa, and Suna would send troops from the borders deep into their territory.

Only then did he realize that one person's strength was not enough to determine a nation's power. In other words, he wasn't strong enough to reach the level of the God of Shinobi, who alone could deter the five great nations!
