Chapter 27 - Blood knows blood

---

Episode 27: Blood Knows Blood

Location: Luna Estate – The Holding Wing

Cassandra sat in a glass holding cell, staring out with unnerving calm. Her hands were bound. Her legs crossed. Her expression unreadable.

Evan watched from the other side of the glass. For the first time, it wasn't fear in her eyes—it was rage and exhaustion… and something colder: closure.

"She hasn't spoken since capture," Emrys said quietly.

"She doesn't need to," Evan replied. "She already said everything with what she did to my sons."

Abel stood behind her, his phone buzzing in his pocket. He ignored it.

"She's waiting," he said. "For her backup plan."

Zane entered, holding a file. "We found something in her old lab. Another name. And you're not gonna like it."

He opened the file and dropped it onto the table.

Nathaniel Dendelion.

Evan's brother.

Presumed dead in the orphanage fire.

But the photo attached?

Taken two weeks ago.

---

Flashback – The Orphanage Fire (10 Years Ago)

Screams filled the air. Flames consumed the hallway.

Evan cried as she crawled beneath the smoke.

"Nathaniel!" she screamed.

A boy's voice shouted back. "Run, Evan! Run!"

The ceiling collapsed.

Silence.

---

Present Day – Luna Estate, Evan's Bedroom

Evan sat on the bed, holding the photo. Her hands trembled.

"He was alive all this time," she whispered.

Abel sat beside her. "Cassandra must have found him first."

"She didn't just find him," Evan muttered. "She used him."

Suddenly, her door slammed open.

Zane appeared, breathless.

"He's here."

---

Location: Luna Estate – North Gate

Rain poured as a tall, shadowed figure stepped through the gate, arms raised.

Guards circled him with rifles, but he didn't flinch.

Evan stepped into the light—and froze.

Nathaniel.

He looked older. Hollow eyes. A long scar across his jaw.

"Sis," he said softly.

Evan's voice cracked. "You left me."

"No," he said. "I saved you."

---

Interrogation Room

Nathaniel sat cuffed, quiet.

Evan stood across from him, fingers clenched.

"You helped her," she hissed.

"I survived her," he said calmly. "She found me in the wreckage. Promised to make the pain go away. Said you died. Said I had nothing left."

Evan's chest rose and fell. "She lied."

"She always did. But I… I believed her. Until I saw your son."

He looked up.

"Evan, Elio looks exactly like you did as a kid. That's when I knew."

He pulled something from his boot—a tiny, bloodstained necklace.

"My last gift to you. Before the fire."

She took it with shaking fingers.

---

Elsewhere – Cassandra's Cell

Alarms blared.

A red light pulsed above her.

Abel ran into the control room.

"What's happening?!"

The guard shouted, "She triggered something remotely!"

On screen, Cassandra leaned toward the glass and whispered:

"Phase Zero begins."

---

Location: Kai's Bedroom

Kai jolted awake. His nose bled. He gasped for air.

Elio started crying.

Zane burst into the room. "We've got a breach!"

---

Outside – Luna Estate Grounds

A swarm of drones lit up the sky. They weren't Cassandra's—

They were Nathaniel's.

Back in the control room, Evan turned on him.

"You lied," she growled.

"I didn't come here to betray you," Nathaniel said. "I came to stop what I helped build."

---

Final Scene – Safe Room

Evan, Abel, Elio, and Kai were sealed in the underground safe room.

Above, the estate shook with explosions.

Evan held her boys close.

Kai looked at her. "He's not the enemy. He's just broken."

And Evan—through all her hate, all her grief—whispered:

"I know. We all are."
