Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Eyes That Shine with Light

"Marshal! The Marshal is here, the Marshal has come to see us!"

With this shout, the tent suddenly became lively. The injured soldiers either sitting or lying down struggled to look towards Zhao Zun, each face full of resilience and fatigue, but their eyes seemed to reflect a glimmer of hope.

It was clear how much weight Zhao Zun, the Marshal, held in their hearts.

After a while, Zhao Zun motioned with his hand to quiet them down, raising his voice.

"Warriors, your bravery and fearlessness are the backbone of our Da Jing Dynasty. Despite being severely injured, you still hold your ground. Such loyalty and courage will be witnessed by heaven and earth!"

Zhao Zun's voice was deep and strong, penetrating every corner of the tent.

He had Han Lei push him as he walked past the injured soldiers, his gaze full of concern and admiration.

"I know your aspirations, so I have been fortunate enough to invite a skilled doctor."

As he spoke, Zhao Zun pulled Han Lei to his side, allowing the injured soldiers to see her.

"Although Miss Han is a woman, her medical skills are outstanding. She will do her utmost to treat you. Once you recover, you will surely don your armor again and drink the victory wine together!"

Zhao Zun's words were like a shot of adrenaline, revitalizing the eyes of the injured soldiers as they eagerly looked at Han Lei.

It turned out that the woman dressed peculiarly but looking fair and beautiful in front of them was the doctor the Marshal had specially invited for them.

Everyone respectfully greeted Han Lei. "Hello, Miss Han!"

Because everyone knew that there couldn't be women in the military camp; if she wasn't exceptionally skilled, their respected Marshal wouldn't bring a woman into the camp.

"Hello, everyone! My name is Han Lei. Please trust me, I will do my best to heal everyone!"

Han Lei's sweet voice echoed in the tent, concise yet dignified.

After she finished speaking, Zhao Zun addressed the injured soldiers. "Everyone, lie down and rest! Miss Han will come and treat you one by one."

The injured soldiers lay back in their original positions.

Hearing that the Marshal came to the Wounded Soldier Camp, Ma Cheng followed along. Just then, Zhao Zun instructed him to arrange personnel for Han Lei.

Han Lei suddenly remembered something and asked, "Prince, is it far from here to enter the city?"

"It's not too far. About seventy to eighty li."

"Then send someone to the city to buy wine! As much as possible, and as quickly as possible."

"Alright."

"Prince, I need to go to the ambulance to get tools and start working. I can't attend to you now, let Mr. Ma push you back!"

After saying this, Han Lei hurried off, not caring about Zhao Zun's reaction.

She mumbled to herself, "I hope I can save more people!"

Running all the way, Han Lei could see from a distance the ambulance surrounded by layers of people.

"Look, this seems to be made of refined iron." Someone lightly tapped the vehicle body.

"Eh? Its eyes are closed, is it sleeping?" Someone inspected the headlights closely.

"There's light in its eyes. Last night, I saw the light it emitted with my own eyes; it was so bright!"

"Yes, I saw it too last night."

"The porridge we drank today was grain from it."

"Exactly! This big guy's belly must be filled. Last night, Miss Han took out a lot of grain from inside, all premium grain!"

"Let me see."

"Let me take a look too."

The ambulance remained still, while the soldiers surrounding it buzzed with conversation, swarming and eager to touch and see.

With the battle ceased, supplies were temporarily secured. This morning, the soldiers ate porridge and cakes made from fine grains, regaining their spirits. Hearing that something unseen before had arrived in the camp, they all rushed out to see it.

After all, they were ancient people, unfamiliar with products of modern technology.

Han Lei also wanted them to look for a while longer, but with several thousand injured soldiers waiting for lifesaving aid, she couldn't delay.

Han Lei took out a remote control and pressed it towards the ambulance.

"Chiu!" a sound was made.

The soldiers surrounding were startled and instinctively took defensive stances, staring fixedly at the ambulance.

"Please make way, please make way."

Han Lei called out while walking quickly, some soldiers who helped transport grain last night recognized her.

"Miss Han is here. Everyone, make way, make way."

Han Lei roughly remembered him and asked, "I remember you helped move grain last night, what's your name?"

"Replying to Miss Han, the small one is called Li Erniu."

Li Erniu smiled honestly. That Miss Han, who came with the Marshal, still remembered him, which made him very happy.

"Li Erniu. Can you get them to help me move the items?" Han Lei glanced at the surrounding soldiers and asked directly.

Zhao Zun's appointed personnel hadn't reached yet, she could use these people as porters.

"No problem! What does Miss Han want to move?" Li Erniu agreed readily.

"Wait for me a moment." Han Lei thought for a bit, opened the back door, jumped onto the ambulance, and closed the door again.

There were not many items in the ambulance, only for emergency use.

Fortunately, she had the system!

Opening the system panel, Han Lei checked her silver.

She had spent quite a bit last night buying grain, most of the injured had wounds from knives and swords, and alcohol and disinfectant stitching tools were most needed.

There were too many injured soldiers, not feasible to administer IV anti-inflammatory medication to everyone, only to those severely injured.

Thus, Han Lei used the remaining money to buy large quantities of alcohol, surgical knives, suture thread, cotton swabs and bandages, along with a large supply of antibiotics and antiviral drugs, and IV drip equipment.

Now, apart from a mining map, she was penniless again.

Thankfully, she asked Zhao Zun to send people to buy wine and could teach them distillation methods to make alcohol themselves.

This era's medical technology was backward; once an infection occurred in wounds, it was often fatal. The alcohol use was extensive; she couldn't keep purchasing from the system each time.

Therefore, she could only teach them the refining method and then promote it.

With the use of alcohol, the death rate of injured soldiers could be significantly reduced.

Han Lei opened the car door, the soldiers outside still commented on the ambulance.

"Li Erniu, come!" Han Lei pushed the purchased items to the car door."These are lifesaving medicines, please ask the brothers to help deliver them to the Wounded Soldier Camp, quickly!"

Looking at the various sized packages in front of them, the soldiers outside stared blankly.

These strange things are medicine? Why had they never seen such medicine?

Han Lei didn't wait for Li Erniu's reply, looking up and seeing them all turned to stone statues.

"Why are you still standing there? Quickly help move, there are wounded waiting for lifesaving!"

Han Lei's tone was somewhat displeased, but she didn't speak much, now wasn't the time for explanation.

"Oh, oh, oh!" Li Erniu snapped out of it and hurriedly called out to the soldiers nearby."Everyone, don't just stand there, quickly help Miss Han move these medicines to the Wounded Soldier Camp. Be careful, don't damage it, the wounded brothers are counting on these to save lives."

Then everyone started moving, hearing it's lifesaving medicine, each moved carefully, cautiously.

When Han Lei reached the Wounded Soldier Camp with the medicines, Zhao Zun hadn't left yet, his dispatched ten-person team had already arrived.
