Chapter 187 - Chapter 189: Bo-Katan's Defeat

Amir sensed a powerful ripple in the Force.

Maul swung the Darksaber in an instant, deflecting all the incoming blaster bolts. But this deflection was completely different from before; the reflected beams flew straight toward Bo-Katan in the air.

Maul was getting serious.

Bo-Katan didn't have time to dodge. Fortunately, she activated the shield generator on her gauntlet in time, and a transparent blue energy shield sprang up in front of her. At the same time, she quickly adjusted her jetpack, trying to change her position.

But she suddenly felt an oppressive force striking from all sides, shaking her concentration. Her movements became difficult, as if she had fallen into a deep swamp!

Meanwhile, the reflected blaster bolts turned into symbols of death, rushing toward her unimpeded.

For a moment, several bright spots flashed in the air—the sound of blaster bolts striking Bo-Katan's shield.

Amir also saw a few sparks, accompanied by Bo-Katan's head snapping back. Fortunately, her helmet was made of high-purity Beskar.

However, one blaster bolt bypassed her body and, at an unpredictable angle, hit a corner of her jetpack.

This attack directly caused the jetpack to catch fire. The smoking pack lost its balance, dragging Bo-Katan erratically through the air.

She had no choice but to forcibly detach the pack and drop from the sky, landing on one knee.

Standing up straight, Bo-Katan was panting slightly. The battle just now had not been easy.

But Maul's condition was even worse than hers. Using Force shields to withstand the impact of several bombs in succession had consumed a massive amount of his energy. Moreover, the constant movement and dodging had drained his physical stamina.

However, Bo-Katan had now fallen to the ground, losing her greatest advantage, and her ammunition was mostly depleted.

Maul seemed to feel victory was within his grasp. Facing his old acquaintance, he felt like talking.

"I know what you want, Bo-Katan. I can give you the Darksaber. Our goal is revenge against the Empire. I can give you one more chance: become my subordinate."

"You think you've already won? I will kill you and take back the Darksaber that belongs to the Mandalorians with my own hands!"

"Hehehe, I thought that after so many years, you would be able to see the situation more clearly." Maul raised the Darksaber, pointing it at Bo-Katan's eyes.

Opposite him, Bo-Katan had already assumed an offensive stance. She abandoned the ineffective blaster pistol and pulled a dagger from the side of her boot. She flipped the switch, and the blade crackled with blue electricity—a vibro-knife.

The Mandalorian looked like an enraged leopard, baring her fangs and staring tight at the prey in front of her.

"Sigh . . ." Maul sighed, pulled the Darksaber back to his chest, and assumed his own stance. He knew this woman would no longer listen to anything he said.

The moment Maul's movement paused, Bo-Katan rushed forward. The blade in her right hand aimed for Maul's neck, while her left hand raised slightly forward.

WHOOSH!!!

Violent flames suddenly erupted from Bo-Katan's left gauntlet, instantly covering the entire area five or six meters ahead. Maul's entire body was engulfed.

High heat and waves of thermal energy swept over Maul. His arms instinctively retracted to protect his head.

This meant he had given up his defense against the charging Bo-Katan, but he still relied on instinct to retreat violently!

The sharp vibro-knife followed closely, leaving a deep gash on Maul's raised arm. Blood slowly oozed from the scorched wound.

The electric current also flowed through Maul's body, causing slight paralysis.

After the flames subsided slightly, Maul forcibly bent his body and raised his leg to kick Bo-Katan's chest plate by surprise. Unaware that Maul could still resist, Bo-Katan was kicked flying, sliding a long distance on her back.

The two scrambled up again, looking at each other from afar.

Maul's eyes no longer held their previous contempt; they had become angry and cold. He clutched the wound on his arm and grinned.

"Heh . . ."

For the first time, he initiated the attack. Holding the Darksaber in front of him, he ran toward Bo-Katan. The black blade sliced through the air, emitting an unsettling hum.

Facing the fierce Maul, Bo-Katan showed no sign of backing down. She deployed the shield on her gauntlet, gripped the vibro-knife tightly, and charged forward.

Even though Maul was a master swordsman, Bo-Katan was not afraid. Her close-quarters combat skills were not to be underestimated.

Bo-Katan was one of the best among the Mandalorians, and Mandalorians had always been famous for combat!

The two collided instantly. The Darksaber was deflected to the side by the shield. Her wrist holding the knife was pinned by a red hand. Bo-Katan immediately released her right hand, letting the knife fall. Her other hand, having deactivated the shield, caught the falling weapon and stabbed toward Maul's abdomen.

She didn't notice the smile on Maul's face.

The thrusting knife seemed to hit an invisible wall. The space in front was clearly empty, yet she could not penetrate an inch further.

Bo-Katan revealed a look of disbelief.

Maul raised his foot, kicked Bo-Katan over with force, and stepped on her left wrist.

The knife dropped and was pulled into his palm by the Force.

He held the Darksaber in one hand and Bo-Katan's weapon in the other.

The winner was decided.

At this moment, Bo-Katan's expression was hard to describe.

Anger, loneliness, or unwillingness . . .

She finally gritted her teeth and admitted her defeat. She turned her head to the side, ready to meet the loser's end—just like Pre Vizsla, who had also been defeated by Maul all those years ago.

Maul showed no sympathy. He simply tilted his head back gently, as if savoring this victory, and then swung the Darksaber down.

"Bo-Katan!" In the distance, Bo-Katan's sidekick arrived just in time to see this desperate scene.

But just as the Darksaber was about to touch Bo-Katan's neck, the black blade of light became sluggish and stopped moving, just like Bo-Katan's knife moments before.

Amir walked onto the field, holding Maul's red lightsaber.

It was he who had stopped Maul's final blow.

"Hehehe, I thought you would only watch coldly from the sidelines, Jedi," Maul said, his voice somewhat weak.

He was very tired now. His physical strength and Force reserves were overdrawn. His body was no longer what it used to be.

That was why Amir could stop him so easily.

This was also the reason Amir had asked the Mandalorians to lead the charge.

The sidekick ran quickly to Bo-Katan, snatched the dazed woman from under Maul's foot, and dragged her aside.

"It's over, Maul." Amir held Maul's red lightsaber in one hand and drew his own lightsaber with the other, walking toward him.

"Over? Hehehe, I ended a long time ago. The current me is nothing but a ghost, and ghosts are not so easily extinguished!" Maul gripped the Darksaber, once again displaying a powerful aura.

Suddenly, the communicator on Amir's wrist rang.

Han Solo shouted anxiously, "Amir! A fleet has arrived outside! It's Crimson Dawn!"

Amir took a deep breath; he had anticipated this.

"Tell 32 and Milisen . . . test the power of the new weapon," Amir said.
