Not forgetting Obi-Wan and the others, Amir first returned to the area outside "Big Yellow's" original lair.
They hadn't left yet. Under everyone's gaze, Amir rode the Greater Krayt Dragon and stopped in front of them once again.
With the previous encounter as a buffer, the group was much calmer, though the Tusken Raiders still couldn't stop trembling in fear.
This time, the Chief took the initiative to walk up to Amir, with Cheihun stepping forward to translate.
[Will the Great Krayt Dragon still be a threat to us? If it stops attacking our tribe, even if we didn't kill it with our own hands, we are willing to reach a peace agreement!]
Amir could see they were still worried. Since they hadn't subdued Big Yellow themselves, they didn't know how controllable it was. The Tusken Raiders couldn't fully trust that this behemoth, which had fought with them for generations, would suddenly live in peace.
"It won't attack you anymore," Amir said.
He then handed the Krayt Dragon pearl from his robes to the Chief.
The Tusken Chief stared at the pearl in Amir's hand. Even with his face wrapped in black cloth, his surprise was obvious.
Forcing his gaze away from the treasure, the Chief asked: [Where did you get this pearl?]
"Travel west from here, a long distance away. There was another Krayt Dragon there. We killed it, and this dropped from it."
The eyes of the Chief and the surrounding Tusken Raiders changed instantly.
[We once migrated there! The dragon in that region was even more brutal, greedy, and endless in its hunger.]
[Is this pearl really for us?]
"Of course it's for you. You provided great help this time; this is your compensation. The carcass of that Krayt Dragon is still there. If you want it, you can go and retrieve it," Amir said.
Hearing Cheihun translate Amir's words, the surrounding Tusken Raiders gathered around the Chief and the held-high dragon pearl, cheering wildly.
The cooperation had ended.
A long-lasting peace had formally begun.
Although the Tusken Raiders were savage and brutal, they held their reputation in high regard. Amir could completely trust the promises they made.
Wolf walked up and thanked Amir. Finally, he had a quiet place where he could focus on developing his farm.
Without the threat of the Krayt Dragon or the Tusken Raiders, the people of Mos Pelgo would be safer whether resting or traveling, and their property wouldn't be snatched away by accidents.
With everything concluded, the only thing left was to part ways.
When they arrived, everyone had ridden the Tusken tribe's Banthas, but they wouldn't need them for the return trip.
Through the friction of the journey, Big Yellow was no longer as violent as before.
Current Amir was using the Force to "brainwash" it at every moment, instilling thoughts of peace, friendship, and harmony between humans and nature.
The way Big Yellow looked at people had changed. It was no longer hostile; instead, it had become somewhat affectionate.
This level of influence secretly startled Amir.
Setting aside moral standpoints, once one's mastery of the Force reached a certain level, one could do whatever they wanted in the galaxy. When one became powerful, the ways to use the Force were endless. If there were no limits or restraints, it would be very easy to trigger the desires hidden at the bottom of the human heart.
This was why the Jedi Knights had a strict code.
There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is the Force.
Discarding distracting thoughts was the most significant method to resist external desires. Only in this way could one concentrate on the perception and study of the Force.
In contrast, the first line of the Sith Code told people: Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
They gained strength and power by indulging their emotions and actions.
Just like Amir now. If he wanted to, he could make ample preparations and take Big Yellow to hunt Krayt Dragons everywhere, obtaining a large number of precious dragon pearls. He could even use Big Yellow's deterrent power to control the trade routes of Tatooine, ensuring that nothing moving on the ground could escape Big Yellow's ambush.
Through this, he could obtain immense wealth and power.
But Amir didn't dwell on these thoughts.
He could think of them, but he immediately denied them.
This was not the right path, after all.
If the tamed Big Yellow could remain obedient, Amir would have it protect the residents here. At the very least, they should live in harmony. He would not use its military might to scheme for profit.
He pulled the remaining people onto Big Yellow's back, once again braving the wind and waves.
They faced the twisted, dry, hot wind, and broke through the boiling, bright sand waves.
. . .
Mos Pelgo
This day was a bit different for the residents of the town.
The new Devaronian and Cheihun, who spent every day soaking in alcohol and talking nonsense, had suddenly left with a blonde teenager. They said they were going to solve the problem of the Tusken Raiders and the Krayt Dragon.
How was that possible?
Those irrational, crazy Tusken Raiders?
The only solution was to kill them all.
And the Krayt Dragon? That was even more unimaginable.
If Mos Pelgo weren't situated on a solid bedrock foundation, that giant beast would have swallowed all the houses and people long ago.
The only thing they could do was store their livestock in safe places and choose the right time when leaving the town. Once encountered, one could only pray for luck.
Despite thinking this, the idle residents gathered at the doors of their houses, chatting and looking into the distance from time to time.
Wolf was a good man. When the Tusken Raiders attacked, his precise marksmanship had saved many people in the town.
And Cheihun had better not die, either. They had lived together for so many years; there was affection there.
By noon, a child pointed at the distant desert and screamed in terror: "It's the Krayt Dragon! It's coming again!"
Hearing this, the townspeople looked where the child was pointing.
It really was the Krayt Dragon! Just their rotten luck!
In the next second, everyone ran toward their respective houses.
There was no guarantee the beast wouldn't climb onto the town's ground level to attack them. They couldn't take the risk; huddling inside was the safest option.
At least it provided some psychological comfort.
A bold young man climbed to the highest point of a roof, holding a pair of binoculars he had managed to scrounge from a passing Jawa, and looked toward the Krayt Dragon.
He had always observed this creature, and this time he noticed that the Krayt Dragon's approach was different from before.
The dragon usually moved underground. That way was faster, avoided the baking sun, and preserved moisture.
But this time...
He constantly increased the magnification until the image became clear.
He saw familiar figures on top of the Krayt Dragon's head.
The young man opened his mouth wide in disbelief.
"It's... it's them! It's Wolf and Cheihun!" the youth shouted loudly.
From the window of a nearby house, another young man poked his head out. "Get your ass back inside, Hans, or you'll really be seeing the three of them in the afterlife!"
"No! It's true! They came back with the Krayt Dragon! They're riding on the dragon's head!"
"Riding a dragon? Don't joke around. That kind of thing only happens in Tatooine's myths. I'd believe you more if you said they rode a Hutt back here."
Hans didn't argue with them anymore. He jumped down from the roof and ran toward the edge of the town.
